+ -1 moreI learned about Gratz Sewing from other members of my sewing group. We all travel "a ways" to get to his shop. I love this man . Unlike another shop where "they" tried to force a new machine on one, Mr. Gratz is very respectful of whatever machine one is bringing in - and does not even "mention" looking at or buying one of the new machines the shop sells. His charges are extremely reasonable.
Description of Work: I've brought several machines in - and they were usually looked at promptly.

+ -1 moreGratz Sewing worked on my machine while I waited. Tuned it up, replaced the cushioning on the bottom and overall got it working just perfectly. And I didn't have to make a return trip to pick it up. Wonderful customer service!

+ -1 moreI took my machine into Gratz Sewing expecting to leave it for repair. Mr. Gratz took my machine in, looked at it, diagnosed the problem and fixed it on the spot. I only waited about 20 minutes. The repair cost came to $22. Far less than I had anticipated. When my old machine eventually gives up, I will definitely go there first to look at a new one!

Even though the machine could not be repaired, they spent some time trying to help me with it and did not charge anything for the consultation. They also suggested where I might buy a separate bobbin winder. I appreciated their customer service.

+ -1 moreiDROPPED OFF MY MACHINE AND THEY LOOKED IT OVER SAID THE REPAIR WOULD BE $60.00 AT MOST. THEN THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 10 DAYS THEY CALLED IN A WEEK AND IT WAS ONLY $44.00. i WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE AND STAFF.

+ -1 moreExcellent? Staff is friendly, service was better than expected. A little long to wait for the repair, but worth it.
Description of Work: Had trouble with thread bunching under presser foot from bobbin and thread breaking. It was also due for a checkup and cleaning (13 yrs since the last cleaning). I took my sewing machine in to Gratz and they figured what was wrong immediately... I had used a different style of bobbin and it was catching underneath and making the thread bunch up and break. Since I had been using that type for a while, I asked if they would please check it out, and also to clean it. There was a backlog of machines to repair and tthey old me in advance of how long it would take and it was okay with me. When my machine was ready, they called me and I went to pick it up and they had test strips showing the stitches and how it was working. It was not very dirty, they did not charge me full price. This was a pleasant surprise, I bought the bobbins they recommended and a few other things.They staff were very friendly and always greeted everyone warmly as they walked in and took care of everyone in a timely manner. They also let me know of the back-log in case I could not wait that long and wanted to take it elsewhere for repair. After seeing how they treated everyone and how many people trusted them with their machines, I went ahead and left it for repair. I was very pleased with the results and my sewing seems to go a lot smoother now with the correct bobbins. I will definitely take my sewing machine, serger, etc., to Gratz in the future.

They weren't scared to fix the machine that was nearly an antique or may be an antique. I thought the price was really good but I can't remember what it was. It was definitely reasonable.
