Description of Work: I had the attic and walls insulated. I downgraded this evaluation because I believe that the vents in my soffits were covered up. They didn't believe that the vents in the soffits were operable anyway. How could they know that without looking? | |I wanted more insulation around light fixtures from the attic than they were originally planning on and they provided it with no extra charge. | |They did a blower test, so I could compare it to the blower test that was taken before insulating. There was about a 15% improvement.

 + -1 moreExceptional. He was the cheapest of 5 bids (most expensive was $600 more). Steve was professional, efficient, clean and did excellent work. We had a highly rated plasterer, Tony Steffens (from Angie's list), hired to do other work (plaster walls where we had new copper piping put in), and he commented on how he often has to redo inside work over insulation holes, and that Steve had done a great job. Steve also found in the attic, where 1989 insulation was poorly put in, and he put in additional insulation at no extra dollar cost (it did cost him extra time and materials). He did an UNBELIEVABLE job. I would hire him again in a snap. Oh, and he cleaned up very well after himself and covered everything with plastic (he left a whole roll of plastic for our painting project, which followed his plastering). This is the first time in my life that I am sending him an additional $50 check for work done above the call of duty.
Description of Work: Steve insulated our 3rd floor attic space, as well as blew insulation into our walls (1st and 2nd floors) from the inside of the house. He uses ''dense pack'' insulation, which is described as a better product (we had an energy audit done from a Minneapolis firm, and they recommend this product). He then patched over the holes (between each stud). He covered all furnishings with plastic and cleaned up the work space each night. It took a total of 3 days work.

Description of Work: STEVEN SMESTAD, OWNER-OPERATOR, HANDLED IN EXEMPLARY FASHION THE MESSY JOB OF INSULATING MY ATTIC SEALING THE BYPASSES (THE HOLLOW SPACES AROUND WIRES & PIPES). HE ALSO INSTALLED, AGAIN WITH SURPASSING SKILL, SOFFIT VENTS ON THE OVERHANG OF THE HOUSE ROOF.
