This was a project that took 8 months. I was very pleased and satisfied with the work

Edgework came when they were supposed to. We changed many things as the project went forward. They were responsive, they updated the cost of the project each time in detailed reports. The quality of work was excellent. The overall result was a vastly more usable home worth more than the actual cost and worth more still in our family's satisfaction in daily living experience. This company is professionally run. David Stockdale is, in my experience, someone of the highest integrity and ability to do excellent work.

We have remodeled our old home six times, the first three with three different contractors, the last three with Egdework Builders. I wish I had found them sooner. They are great to work with! Quality design and craftsmanship. They are honest and professional, I trust them! They always came in on budget!! and got the work done on schedule. I am an artist and have high standards of workmanship and quality. Egdework came up with beautiful, creative and practical design solutions that fit our taste and budget. They provided us with quality respectful workers and quality workmanship at our home. The projects' time-lines were based on our schedule. Work was always performed on schedule and weather permitting they stayed on schedule. I could tell that our business and feelings were important to them, they always went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We had some stressful eye-opening bad remodeling experiences with some previous contractors, so we appreciate the exceptional service provided by Edgework. We don't plan on remodeling again but if we do I am calling Edgework Builders!

There were mostly pros but a few cons to the project, which took approximately one month in February and March 2009. We are happy with our new bedroom and bathroom in the basement and will be proud to have guests stay there. The project was more expensive than anticipated. Pros: 1) Skilled subcontractors. The plumber, carpenter, drywall installer and electrician in particular were polite and skilled. They showed up early, and stayed late when necessary to keep on schedule. We were pleased with the quality of their work and attention to detail. 2) Clear scheduling. Edgework had an organized schedule for the project and stuck to it rigidly. We were able to rely on the timeframe down to the day. The project in general was very well organized. 3) Flexible. The contractor showed creativity and flexibility when there were surprise deviations from the initial plans. The design of one wall had to be altered quite quickly. I liked their ideas to work with some awkward spaces in this basement area. 4) Responsive. My project manager, Kevin, was always available to discuss ideas or concerns. I felt he truly listened and at least some of the time made adjustments to the project to satisfy concerns. Cons: 1) Costly adjustments to estimate. A second estimate was substantially higher than the first estimate. The owner said it was because of unanticipated costs to install the egress window per city code. I would have expected an experienced contractor to get that number right the first time. I felt a little duped. 2) Excess soils. A cost-saving measure was added to the final contract even though it was never discussed with me in advance. The idea was to leave excess soils dug from the egress window on site. I erred in signing the contract before fully understanding this, but I was nonetheless upset that Edgework added this clause late and didn't give me any idea of the massive digging project that would be left behind. 3) Reminders. The contract called for more expensive moisture resistant drywall, but then cheaper standard drywall was delivered. We complained and it was replaced. Similarily, we agreed to have insulation and drywall along one exterior wall replaced, but the contractor forgot and didn't do it until we reminded him. 4) Carpet subcontractor should have been neater. He scuffed walls and fresh paint in a couple spots, and left grubby handmarks on closet doors when he re-installed them.
