Custom Refacing LLC

When I called in August Lonn told me he was booked until October which was fine with me. Lonn set up an initial meeting to go over what I wanted and show me the veneers he uses, the different styles of doors for the cabinets and give me some prices. He also had some suggestions. For example, he suggested putting a a hinged door on the corner cabinet instead of the two door system I had (you had to open one door before you could open the other). He gave me a date in September for him to come to measure and for me to finalize the door style, hardware and stain color. He also set the date for the work to be done. After I picked the stain color he had the strainer send me a larger sample for my approval. When he started the work, he put heavy interlocking plastic tiles to protect the kitchen floor (he cuts the wood in the kitchen) and canvas over the doorways to keep the dust to a minimum. He always removed the tiles and swept every night so we could cook in the kitchen if we wanted. He was always prompt in the mornings and actually finished the kitchen ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with his work.

Lonn did excellent work for us and we were extremely pleased with the cherry refacing of our kitchen island, the vent hood he created and the fireplace mantel reface. His kitchen cabinet refacing work was superb. However, his subcontractor who painted the refaced cabinet gets a C for his work. Many drips and missed spots were found, which we corrected. All and all this project went well.

Work was professional. However the carpentry quality was a bit sub par and the painter of the cabinets on site was less than stellar. Cabinet doors spray off site were great.

Lonn initially came to explain the process and give us an estimate. He came back later to do the final measurements. It took 3 days to reface the cabinets in maple. We had new doors, new drawers, some pull outs added, the board over the sink window updated and new hardware put in. The cabinet bases were refaced, four small size drawers were combined to make 2 larger drawers, the cabinet over the refrigerator was rebuild to accommodate a taller refrigerator in the future. We had a soft close feature added to the doors also. We were able to get a custom stain color that we really love. Lonn always arrived right when he said he would, even though he was driving across town. He is very careful with your floors , putting tarps and padding down. He was able to keep the rest of the house free of sawdust by draping off the kitchen. Our 40 year old kitchen had slab oak doors in an orangey stain. After Lonn was done they look brand new! We love our updated maple kitchen. We would highly recommend Lonn to anyone wanting an updated kitchen.

Lonn was so easy to work with from start to finish. Our kitchen turned out even better than we thought it would look and we are so pleased with our decision to use Custom Refacing LLC. Lonn listened to what was important to us, provided suggestions when appropriate, and was very professional. The work was completed in the provided timeline with no surprises. We even added on to the project mid-way through and it was no problem. We absolutely love our cabinets, it has totally transformed our kitchen. We would not hesitate to use Custom Refacing LLC again or to refer friends/family to Lonn.

Lonn's work is great! We were impressed with him from the day he came to give us an estimate. He was easy to work with, provided several ideas/options, and his workmanship met our high expectations. We have received several comments on our kitchen and many people asking for his contact information. A few things that stuck out is the quality of materials he used, he cleaned up each evening, and he made sure everything was perfect before he left the last day (he even brought a few doors home to fix that I didn't even notice the imperfections) You will not be disappointed in his work!

Lonn is a man of few words but his works speaks volumes. What I liked the most was the large selection of samples he has with him. It was really like shopping from home with everything he brings with him. The work he performed was on-time and the results were better than I expected. One thing he does that I thought was very professional was that he sent a final sample of the color I selected prior to the final job. This helped me picked tile and paint. I would use Lonn's Services again for sure.

As usual, Lonn did an awesome job. We used Lonn to renovate our kitchen a few years ago and didn't hesitate to call him again for this work. He is very easy to work with and takes pride in doing a high quality job. He completed all work on time and quickly with very high quality. The cabinets look awesome and look better than brand new cabinets. He uses real hard wood to reface (no foil or thin veneers) and also can build completely new cabinets which he did for one cabinet in our master bath. The soft close drawers and cabinets are awesome too. No longer do I have to listen to my kids slamming drawers or cabinets in the morning. Also, had our counters replaced with Silestone and granite. Lonn works with a stone supplier who also does excellent work. Very happy with the counters too (on time and good quality). All in all a great experience. I would not hesitate to use Lon n again or to recommend him to friends and family (which I have).

Lonn was very well organized - uses foam squares as floor covers, painter's drapes on entry floors and kitchen entry points to control dust. Outstanding work, very pleased with results. Lonn is a great listener, is very professional and offers good suggestions on upgrades. Changed a 1977 dark kitchen cabinet look with a modern honey oak cabinet look with extremely useful pullout lower cabinet drawer boxes..

First, you don't meet many people with the ability to listen to the customer anymore. Lonn took the time to listen to us, offer suggestions as well as guide us on what could be done for pullouts, hinges and hardware options. He arrived when scheduled, cleaned up at the conclusion of each day and gave us a progress report on when he would be done. It took just under 4 days and the results were fantastic. He took a dated 1989 kitchen and really made it look wonderful. We really enjoyed working with Lonn and would highly recommend him to others.

Lonn did a great job. He was professional, arrived when he said he was going to, and the product is amazing and matched perfectly to our existing cabinets. I couldn't recommend him more!

Lonn was very easy to work with and really did a nice job. We had 3 new cabinets built to accommodate new appliances and the rest of the cabinets and drawers were refaced. Took about a week and Lonn was great at communicating what needed to be done and when. Would definitely hire again.

Small bathroom remodel -- After discussing the prospects of refacing the existing vanity and closet, Lonn indicated he could build a vanity that would give us more room in our small bathroom. The built-in closet/cupboard was refaced with beautiful cherry. We designed together and he constructed a matching cherry vanity. He suggested a company to provide a Silestone counter. We wanted a sink that extended beyond the front edge of the vanity and stone counter top. This is a difficult cut to make, but the counter and vanity with the new sink look terrific. The quality and workmanship is excellent. We did have a cupboard door panel that was slightly 'ajar'. Lonn had it immediately replaced with a proper fitting door. We are very happy with our 'new' bathroom. Lonn was very professional, easy to work with, and competent. We would happily recommend him to others.

Lonn is wonderful, just like all other past reviewers have said. He did a great job refacing our current cabinetry, helping us design and then built a custom section of cabinets, and refacing another built in linen cabinet we have. He does great quality work, for a good price, and is very nice and professional. I would recommend Lonn to anyone.

When Lonn first came to our house to give us an estimate we were not really sure what we would be getting into and if we were ready to make the change. After meeting Lonn, understanding what he can do for a kitchen, hearing his ideas and suggestions and his customer first attitude, we were sold. Lonn transformed our kitchen in a way we could not even imagine. By refacing our existing cabinets, building extension boxes extending to the ceiling, we were able to add space and an updated look. We tore out a cabinet that did not function for us and Lonn was able to create new design that is more functional and looks fabulous. Lonn also provided an excellent contact for new countertops and backsplash installation.

Lonn did an unbelievable job matching the design on the original cabinets and matching the stain color. These cabinets look like they are original but provide all the modern amenities; room for a dishwasher, spice rack, etc. We highly recommend Lonn to anyone that is looking to create an original look and modern conveniences to their kitchen. He was responsive and very helpful!

This was a small job. Lonn Schmitz came out quickly, measured the drawers, gave me a good price. He did a great job reusing the drawer fronts, but putting in much higher quality wood drawers with much better slides. I would recommend this business, and I will call again if more drawers bite the dust.

Lonn was great to work with and the finished product was very well done. As others have mentioned, he is quite the craftsman. We had another contractor bid the work for about double the cost of Lonn's cost.

Lonn did a beautiful job replacing my 80's style kitchen cupboards with new facing. He was punctual and professional, a true craftsman. Very well done. I'm very pleased with the results.

From the minute Lonn came into our home to give us an estimate we were comfortable and confident about him. He was extremely polite, and soft spoken ( no hard selling ) and we appreciated that. I had put off this project for years , resisting the idea of "gutting" the kitchen and ripping out the original cabinets which were spacious and wonderful, but old...Painting seemed inadequate as some of the doors and drawer fronts were worn or in need of repair. I felt almost embarrassed to have anyone take a long look at my kitchen ! When Lonn arrived I rather sheepishly said " Welcome to 1948" and he calmly replied, " Yep, this is what I do ..." He was not phased in the least which gave me great confidence... Finally I had found the solution; keeping the 'skeleton' of our beloved cabinets and having them look brand new! Everything about Lonn was wonderful. Precise and clear with preparations and written estimate, spelling out our part in terms of preparing for his installation, he worked a miracle in two days - the heavy equipment moved in and out like poetry in motion! Lonn was so careful to protect surfaces and staged his work space in a truly impressive manner. Our only regret is that we did not know this was an option or we would have enjoyed an updated kitchen long before now! It went very well. I have a small kitchen with some old maple cabinets on one side that I wanted to preserve. Lon was able to build new cabinets and stain them to match the maple so it all blends nicely together. The crown molding around the ceiling and cabinets beautified the whole kitchen. It is lovely. Lon is a really nice guy, who was professional, prompt and worked well with me. I would recommend him and his work to others and would use him again if the need arose.

Lonn Schmitz came to our home early in January to give us an estimate for our kitchen. He was on time, obviously experienced in this kind of work, and listened to us to determine what we wanted him to do. He made several very helpful suggestions and gave us his estimate within a couple of days. When we contacted him to go ahead with this project, he came back to our home and spent about three hours measuring everything and double checking what we wanted him to do. We scheduled for him to return to finish the job on Feb. 5th. After about a week and a half, he sent us a sample piece of oak with the stain match that he had done so we could check it with the existing cabinets. The stain matched our existing cabinets very well. On Feb. 3rd he called us to double check on the schedule for Feb. 5th. On Feb. 5th he showed up on time, spread protective padding on our floors and got right to work. It took all day Feb 5th and another half day on Feb. 6th to complete the work. At the end of the first day, he cleaned up our kitchen workplace so we could make use of the kitchen and returned the next day to finish the job. When he was done, he again cleaned everything and packed up his tools and left. He was very efficient, very professional and very courteous. As with any remodeling job there will always be some surprises. When he discovered something, he called it to our attention, and together we made a decision on how to take care of the problem. We had a couple of minor surprises that he was able to overcome very easily. We had just moved into this house five months ago so we were not aware of some of the things that Lonn uncovered during his work. We were very grateful for his expertise. We were very pleased with the whole process and would highly recommend Lonn for any work you might like to have done.

Lonn is very profession, and detail-oriented. Responded quickly and provided quote in timely manner. Found pricing reasonable. He gave us great ideas on how to maximize storage in our kitchen, including some unique pull out drawers above the fridge. While we are not ready to proceed with this project now, we plan to call Lonn when we are.

Gave me an estimate on kitchen cabinet refacing. VERY professional, knowlegeable, and kind. Will definitely use this company when finances allow.
