He did a great job and it was a good experience overall. He has good communication and does a very professional job.

The job went well and the pricing was fair. It looked nice and it appears to be quality work. Everything was good. He miscounted one the doors so there was a delay in installing one of the cabinets door so that took a little extra time. I might possibly use them again.

Lonn made several visits to our house prior to service to answer questions and offer advice. We opted to have out lower cabinets refaced and our upper cabinets replaced with custom cabinetry which was built by Lonn. We chose this options since our countertops were only a couple of years old. Delivery and installation of cabinets occured on time. Lonn was excellent to work with. He was very attentive to my desires and yet offered suggestions when I wasn't sure what to choose. We were able to change our dated oak cabinets to beautiful Cherry ones that extend all the way to the ceiling. Trendy features were added to the refaced lowers including a mixer lift for my Kitchen Aid mixer, tray dividers and converting my lower 2 door cabinet to a bank of large drawers with soft close glides. The project took 6 weeks from confirmation of job including one week of installation. Lonn did his best to leave the kitchen clean and usable each evening - much yo my dismay! ;o) (I was still able to cook each night). My kitchen went from ugly and dated to showcase beautiful! I enjoyed working with Lonn and we are completely satisfied with our result! He was always able to come up with a solution that satisfied my wants and needs. I did struggle with tool envy all week but that's to be expected!

Lonn Schmitz came over to do an estimate; I wasn't sure my oddball sized vanity and cabinet could be done, but everything gets measured and cut to fit. The estimate was $1,045 to reface the vanity, the tub access door and the tall, skinny linen closet, which I thought was reasonable. Lonn brought over several door samples, finish, trim and knob samples and was patient and helpful with selection. I also wanted to raise my vanity height a little bit and Lonn made some suggestions and we decided to add an inch to the top and cover it with trim (so the gap between the top of the vanity drawer and top of vanity wouldn't look goofy) and it looks great. I decided on the maple door with the cinnamon finish and we scheduled a date for installation. Lonn e-mailed me the week of the installation to remind me of the installation date/time and to remind me to empty everything from the cabinets and remove the old countertop. He arrived promptly at 8am on the morning of the installation and worked all day to finish. He put cloth down on the carpeted stairs to keep things clean as he went up and down the stairs between the garage where he had his saw/tools and the upstairs bathroom. The end product is beautiful. There isn't a gap or any imperfection in his work. Very satisfied! I hope to add a picture of the vanity once I get the granite installed.

Lonn is an expert craftsman with great attention to detail. He was very thorough in taking measurements and making suggestions about color and hardware. He started and completed the work when he said he would and was quiet and efficient in the process. It is quite disruptive to have the kitchen worked on, but he made it as easy for us as possible. He is most respectful. At the end, he was not completely pleased with the staining on a couple of doors, so he replaced them. It is quite a joy to have a craftsman who is a perfectionist! We are extremely pleased with his work. We would happily recommend him.

We received estimates for cabinet refacing and countertops from several different companies. For the refacing, Custom Refacing came out on top due to price and quality. There was one estimate we received which was less, but it was not for real wood. We went with Custom because we would get solid maple doors, hardware, 1/4' real maple on the front of cabinet (instead of the veneer you get with most). Lonn did an impeccable job with his work. He nails the facing onto the non-door parts of the cabinets and you cannot even see that this is how it is put on unless you put your face right against the cabinet (and can even then barely see) because he matched the filler so well to the wood. He obviously cares about his work and providing quality. My brother saw what we had done a few weeks after it was complete and was very impressed. This said a lot considering he is a person who has had a lot of experience with remodeling projects and is an extreme perfectionist when it comes to anything around the home. Also, Lonn was very prompt, courteous, and responsive. We did need to have him come back to make a minor adjustment to one door after the work had been done and he was very prompt about getting this done too. And the fact this needed to be adjusted had nothing to do with him doing anything wrong. We have cabinets that are not exactly level and it just happened that it ended up shifting a bit because of the cabinet being warped to begin with. Overall, VERY happy. We are also happy with our counters, but this work is done by another contractor that Lonn/Custom Refacing work with. Overall, cabinets, counter, and sink cost about $6000. We have a medium size kitchen with quite a bit of counter top space. This total was about $3000 less than what we had been quoted by the first place we looked at (Home Depot - stay away from getting done with them! Their quote was not even for maple but rather some type of product called thermafoil). Anyway, very happy and people who have seen it cannot believe they are not new cabinets but rather refaced. You cannot tell the difference. Every detail is great. He put up edging (which we had not had before), a tip out tray for sponges, etc. the hardware, the toe kicks where the floor and cabinets meet, uses the European style hinges (hinge on the inside so is invisible from the outside). And we had a choice with the doors to either have the same size as existing and leave space in between or move the doors closer together. We opted for larger doors which would meet together inside of having the space. And again, we are very pleased.

Lonn came over for two in depth consultation and measuring sessions. When I hemmed and hawed on stain color for the cabinets (I have maple floors and butcherblock countertop and didn't want clashing wood colors), he helped me pick out a stain color and also procured a wood sample with stain color. When I changed my mind two days later on the cabinet style he took it all in stride. He showed up on the scheduled day, worked about 2.5 days total on the project and it was wonderful. He also helped me cut some shelves to size that I had bought and discovered I had slightly wrong lengths.

Lonn was on time the first day and the following two days working to comlete the job in three days. Lonn worked in my kitchen using power saws and other equipment to give an excellent finished job! He cleaned up at the end of each day, leaving it neat and clean when I arrived home.

We are very pleased with Lonn's work. He is friendly and the end product is very nice. We highly recommend him. We only had two minor problems. First. there was a delay because of a supplier problem that kept us out of the kitchen a few days longer than expected. Lonn was very apologetic and even bought us dinner! In addition, there were a couple pieces of wood that just didn't match to my standards (a couple pieces of trim and one kitchen cupboard door). Lonn redid them both free of charge and without hassle.

Lonn showed up promptly to discuss options which could be considered and then sent quote for agreed upon options within a week. He was very willing to work with me to find best value for my needs. Also gave quote for replacing countertops, All doors and drawer fronts were custom sizes and Lonn uses two different companies to manufacturer the wood components and provide a factory finish to all pieces. Lonn quoted four weeks to complete job after final measurements were taken and met his timetable as expected. Lonn did the installation himself and everything turned out very well. The quality of the doors and painted finish was excellent. He was easy to work with and very accomodating. He seemed much more willing to consider the special options I wanted compared to larger companies who have a set approach to their work. His quote was very competitive and better than the big box stores. I would highly recommend this company and would hire them again.

Lonn was professional from start to finish of this project. We got several estimates and his price was very competitive. He was very punctual and started and completed the project when he said he would. He was easy to work with. Lonn has excellent craftsmanship and takes pride in his work. He listened to our needs and did a great job assisting us in choosing our cabinet doors and hardware. He cleaned up thoroughly every day and made the kitchen available to us evenings. Our new refrigerator did not fit in the space, so Lonn made a special evening trip to our home to fix the problem. Our new kitchen cupboards look beautiful! We would recommend him highly to anyone considering refacing cabinets.

We received two estimates from highly rated Angie's list companies. Both were competitive. Lonn's was slightly less, so we selected him. Lonn was always a professional and prompt. He came to our house many times during the selection process. He had his cabinet craftsman even make us a custom color when I requested a shade in between two other colors. He arrived promptly every visit. The work was accomplished in the time predicted. Each day he would seal off the kitchen to minimize saw dust. Each evening, he would clean up sufficiently so that we could use the kitchen that night. The quality of the materials is very high. The results are beautiful! We definitely earned our investment back. As expected in a project of this size there were a few minor corrections after completion. Most adjustments Lonn noticed first, but all were quickly corrected. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lonn to my pickiest friends.

After reading his reviews on Angie's list, we called Lonn and another contractor to get pricing on refacing our kitchen cabinets. Although they were both close in pricing, we chose Lonn. He pointed out one of our cabinets was coming off the wall and fixed that. He also suggested replacing the window frame so it matched the finish on the new cabinet fronts. He kept the dust from the sawdust to a minimum and cleaned up well after the job.

After reading excellent reviews on Angie's List about Lonn's work, I contacted him regarding a 1960's kitchen. The layout and quality of the cabinets were excellent. However, they looked terribly dated. Lonn agreed to stop by the vacant house (we live out of state), and provide an estimate for refacing the cabinets. Lonn stayed in constant communication with us via e-mail and phone. He provided pictures of various styles of doors for the cabinets as well as many options of stains. In addition, Lonn took the time to take pictures of the granite we selected for the counter top and several options of stains that were a match and e-mailed them to us. Throughout the project, Lonn was pro-active in his communication with us. He provided us with frequent updates and was very helpful in deciding on the right wood, style of doors and stain for this kitchen. Lonn coordinated with other contractors at the house when necessary, paid incredible attention to detail, and finished the project on time. The kitchen looks completely new at a tiny fraction of the cost compared to tearing out old cabinets and replacing them with new ones.

Lonn responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and professionally arrived on time. He gave me an efficient estimate on the spot, and even though it was very reasonable, I decided on the advice of my Realtor to not go through with the project at this point in time. However, Lonn's estimate was the lowest I received, and he had the best selection of different wood grains and stains in tradition, transitional, and contemporary styles.

We didn't go forward with this project because we decided to replace our cabinets. Lonn had some great ideas and beautiful samples for us to look at. He educated us on refacing and was very prompt and professional. I would recommend calling Lonn for an estimate if you are looking at refacing cabinets.

Custom Refacing did such a terrific job. My cupboards look great, and he cleaned up great. I really liked him and his work. I would hire him again definitely.

He was wonderful. He was quiet and has been very efficient and meticulous in his work. He is very clean and a pleasure to have around. The bookcases look better than they did when they were first built. He was very knowledgeable.

Great! He had the lowest bid and easily stayed within his bid, the work was very detailed and high quality. He was done earlier than he told us he would be under 5 days. He addressed new requests we had during (and after) the project promptly. He cleaned up very well every day and really did a great job keeping any mess within the kitchen. We absolutely love the end product and highly recommend!!!

Lonn was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He came promptly to give us a bid and discuss the work we wanted done. He began the work promptly on schedule and finished it on schedule. There were a few minor adjustments that had to be fixed after the work was done and he attended to them immediately when called. Our kitchen looks brand new and is much easier to use. Lonn was very professional to work with and we would hire him again if needed.

We were extremely happy with Lonn's work and how nice it was to work with him. He was always on time and extremely patient with us. He made sure that we got the exact stain color match that we were looking for. He cleaned up the work area at the end of each day's work (3 days). Lonn went the extra effort to make sure everything was just how we needed it. After he was done, we had our sink installed and found out that it hit the tip-tray. Lonn was happy to come over to reinstall a smaller tip-tray and he even helped me setup the wood frame for a new light fixture that I was putting in that day. Overall, we are very excited about our new kitchen. Refacing was the way to go, we have a completely new looking kitchen for a fraction of the cost of remodeling. I would easily recommend Lonn to anybody who is looking to do cabinet refacing.

Lonn and his partner really helped me out when I was in a jamb. The previous contractor abandoned the job and I simply could not ask for anything better than what Lonn and his partner delivered! They worked very hard to match the wood, finish, and style of the existing work. I will enjoy the finished kitchen for many, many years to come!

When estimate was given, a full explanation of work to be done and the length of time it would take was given. The installer was on time, polite and completed the work ahead of schedule.

The final product looks great in all areas. They were moderately priced and a pleasant to work with. Because of health problems and vacations, it took a long time to get started on the project, and a long time to finish.
