Copperfield Chimney Sweeps & Repair

Vic and his co-worker are very knowledgeable on fireplaces as well as professional, friendly, and clean. They put down sheets and set to work. I would use Copperfield again for sure as well as recommend them to friends.

Victor and his assistant were excellent. The job they did with our fireplace was far better than the last company that had cleaned it for me. He filled in some cracks in the firebox with mortar at no extra charge and then showed me how to fill them in in the future so that I don't have to call a sweep out to do it for me. Everything he did was done with a high level of skill and professionalism. I would recommend him to others.

He was great, on time, polite and did a great job. He was very neat and saw that nothing got onto the floor, etc...

They did the work I contracted for and also fixed the dampers on the two fireplaces and installed protective wire on an outside vent to prevent birds/animals from getting into the vent.

The site says that they give free estimates, but when my husband called, they said they were too busy. The receptionist said they would only give an estimate on the chimney repair if we scheduled a chimney cleaning.

Victor was fantastic. Extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Did the work perfectly and gave great insights into how to avoid issues when using fireplaces. Great work and exceptional professionalism.

He was exactly on time and courteous. Very pleased with the work. He did not, however, clean up the vines that he had to cut to get out of the chimney. Regardless of that would recommend highly.

Great experience. Victor was on time, very knowledgeable, completed the work in less than an hour with no issues or mess. Even taught me a few things about the fireplaces/chimneys. Will use this firm next time.

I was very happy with the work Victor did. He did a major cleaning on one of our chimneys and told me the other only needed minor cleaning because it had rarely been used. He also sold us a chim-a-lator and did a great job installing it. Victor obviously knows his stuff and was very professional, and I felt like he gave us a very fair price. He also fit us in with only a few days notice.

Victor was on time, even a little early, very friendly and explained numerous details about my chimney (that were very helpful). He has an old-fashioned work ethic that showed me a great consideration for my concerns, and he is extremely competent. Victor has no problem with putting in extra effort, i.e., securing flex screen and explaining details about how things work. It's great to have the person who owns the company and has many years of experience doing the work.

Victor did an amazing job on a difficult problem: no flue liner had ever been installed in our chimney. Other companies wanted to charge us a lot more money to videotape the flue, replace the cap, etc. Victor came up with a plan to repair and save what he could and install the flue liner properly, including lots of work re-routing vents in the basement. He spent over two hours evaluating, estimating, and talking with us. He and an assistant completed the work in one (long) day. He's a caring, experienced professional, and we recommend him most highly.

Victor took my first call on a Friday night at home and spent time on the phone with me. He came promptly to give an estimate, then again to do the work. He cares about his work and does a great job, at a much lower price than I had been quoted by another company.

They called me back and let me know that the job was too large for their small company.

Victor was great - he was prompt in returning my call, quoted me a price over the phone after asking specific questions about our fireplaces and was able to come out to our house within a few days. He taped around the fireplace with plastic, put tarps over the mantle and carpet, and made sure to clean off any remaining dust after he completed the job. He was also very helpful in suggesting ways we could save energy/money with simple modifications to both the furnace and fireplaces. We will definitely call on him again next spring!

Victor lived up to the high expectations other Angie's List members have experienced. We just bought our house. During inspection, we were told that gaps in our fireplace tiles posed a fire hazard and needed to be repaired. This turned out not to be the case. Victor inspected our tiles and thoroughly explained the safety issues associated with maintaining our fireplace and chimney. Given the time he spent, the advice he offered, and the reasonable cost for the service (based on past experience I was expecting to pay more that $1K to fix the issues we were told we had), we'd highly recommend Copperfield.

I was very satisfied. He was on time, happily answered my questions, provided tips on how to maintain the system and left the area cleaner then before he arrived. I would happily recommend him to anyone.

Victor was able to fit me in at short notice. He appeared to be very knowledgeable and made sure there weren't any problems with the ash bin (or whatever it's called - I can't remember) in the basement and he rearranged my outside air intake to be more effective. He was about 1/2 hr late for the appt due to a prior job, but called me to keep me advised.

They were very pleasant ad helpful.

He was excellent and very efficient. We've had roofing contractors give recommendations about fixing our chimney. So, we asked Victor to give us a second opinion and he concluded that we didn't need any work done. He has been in business a long time and knows his stuff. I would definitely use him again.

FABULOUS JOB! WOULD HIRE VICTOR AGAIN IN A SECOND! HE WAS HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY!

We were happy with the work and worker. He was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. He gave options and recommendations. The only problem that we had was not cleaning up after the work was completed. Several shiny, curly strands of sheet metal came down the roof into the yard during the next rain (not a good mix with a curious toddler).

Overall excellent service. Provided very clear explanation of what service he could provide. Explained clearly what problem was in cross-draft & how to fix it. Left me a very articulate voice message after job was complete, explaining what work was done. How he communicates with his customers must be one of the best home contractors I have ever spoken with.

Showed up exactly when he said he would and gave a lot of helpful information on the care of the fireplace/chimney. He even repaired a broken brick veneer on top of the chimney for free. Excellent service and he doesn't mind that you ask questions while he works. Cleaned up everything after the job was done. Highly recommended.
