Victor did an excellent job. Work was efficient and clean. He also cleaned the brick around fireplace to remove previous owner's soot stain at no extra charge. I knew I needed chimney caps and he recommended and installed good ones for an upgrade charge. On time and done right.

He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and educated on how to use our woodburning fireplace. He was very sharing of his knowledge and did not rush anything.

I contacted Victor and was able to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. He was very prompt at getting back to me with the outcome of the jobs he performed. One went very well and was routine, the other apparently had the damper burned to a crisp by a previous owner and he gave me the option of replacing it now, but no pressure, or if I was interested in the future he would be happy to come out to replace it. I liked how he contacted me after each property to give me the update. Of course I got the Angie's List discount which saved me about $20 between the two properties. I would definitely use Copperfield Chimney Sweeps again in the future.

They did a fine job. Victor is very thorough. He installed some screws on the stovepipe that should have been there but were missing. He adjusted the control on my chimilator so that it would open wider. He told me that my fireplace chimney did not need to be cleaned and how long to wait before I called him back to clean the stove. He was great!

Very good communication and service. He looked at the furnace as well and even patched a big hole in the back of the fireplace where I was losing lots of heat!

It went great. Hire him and you won't be sorry. The work was done in about an hour with one co-worker.

We were given a half hour window of time when they would arrive. When was the last time any service company gave you less than a 2-4 hour window. They arrived within 10 minutes of the beginning window only because a detour was encountered and needed to call for alternative directions. Victor was great to work with. Very professional and thoroughly explained what he found even offering suggestions on good burning practices and when it would be time for another cleaning to be scheduled (how much wood burned). Drop cloths were put in place before any work was done and the area was spotless when he finished. He pointed out the spalling bricks on the exterior chimney above the roof line and suggested having repairs in the spring to the crown (cracks showing water leakage) and spalling bricks. He explained the importance of maintaining the integrity of the exterior chimney to maintain structural soundness.

Victor did an excellent job. He explained the need for a new flue screen. He also had me go outside with him to look at the chimney bricks that needed replacing. He assured me that although the work will not be done until spring, the bid he gave will not change.

They were running a little behind but I called the office to double check and they were so nice. They informed me that they were running a little over from a previous job. I would definitely use them again.

Great. He was on time, very efficient and hardworking. He knows his stuff, does top-notch work, and seems very honest. He suggested a better brand of chimney topper, but didn't try to up-sell at all and simply said that if we were ready for it or for more thorough mortar/brick repair later on, to give him a call. He was not so happy with the squirrel situation, though, and made it clear that he was not a pest control guy.

Victor and one assistant showed up exactly at scheduled time. He was very friendly and I showed him the location of the fireplace. The coffee table was moved out of the way, and a large drop cloth was put over the carpeting. I asked about the possible messiness and he assured me it would be minimal. It was. He immediately began the inspection and put the assistant to work vacuuming the fireplace ash deposits. After doing the inspection from the inside, Victor finds the best way up to the top of the chimney (he is equipped with ladder, proper tools etc.) and brushes out the flue and top part of chimney with a special brush that does not damage the interior tiles. We discussed the possibility of animals entering chimney and he offered for purchase a flue screen, which I purchased for $55. Back inside the house, the helper finished the vacuuming and Victor went into a detailed explanation of the proper operation of the damper, fresh air vent and fire burning procedures. Great job!

Mary, who scheduled Victor's visit, was very responsive. She double checked their service area to confirm they cover Lake Elmo before telling me no. Victor was on time and willing to answer all my questions. He is very knowledgeable about his work, including the peripheral systems associated with chimneys, such as furnace ducting grades, fireplace configuration, whole house air drafting and assorted safety concerns. He is honest about what needs to be serviced and offers to negotiate his prices to reflect the actual work performed. He is quick and efficient and friendly. Thanks, Victor!

Victor and his assistant inspected and cleaned our chimney. In addition to the work he did on our chimney, Victor made sure that we understood exactly how to operate our fireplace, how to minimize any heat loss, and how to make sure we didn't end up with a house full of smoke! He was very knowledgeable and thorough when explaining things and patient with our questions. We will definitely use this company again when our chimney needs cleaning next time.

Victor and his helper arrived on time. They placed tarps on rugs and floor and also covered the fireplace opening with plastic while they worked (also made sure area was clean when they were done). Answered our questions as this was our first time having an inspection/cleaning since buying our house earlier this year. We will very happily use Victor again in the future.

Victor and his assistant arrived and quickly went about their business. Victor let me know what he found after examining the chimney. He explained things very clearly. When I asked about smoke problems, he explained the cause. Additional services, the cap that the previous homeowner added to the chimney did not fit. Victor replaced it at a reasonable charge. He repaired a crack for no additional charge. Both Victor and his assistant were very neat. My family room had no soot in it as a result of the cleaning. Copperfield Chimney Sweeps exceeded my expectations. When it is time to clean my chimney again, I will call Victor. No second thoughts.

Victor Skelley, the owner, and his assistant performed the work. They arrived about 40 minutes late due to the previous job taking longer than expected but apologized profusely. My job was done quickly, expertly, and cleanly. There was no mess. Victor is obviously very knowledgeable and experienced. He gave me some helpful information about my chimney. He was professional, and his price was very reasonable. I was very pleased and have recommended him to others.

I would say that I will only do buinsess with Victor from now on. I asked him (after admitting I do not know much about chimneys and fireplaces), if I should call him next year and he said to do so in 2010. He also told me how much wood I have to burn before I should call him. Now, this is a long term business building. I was very happy with extra checking that he did. I am giving his name to all of my friends.

Victor was very thorough. We have a complicated fireplace set up and we are new to the house, so he took the time to review with us how things work and to make sure everything was in order. I highly recommend this company.

My home was built in 1938 and because this was a potentially major problem which might have required replacing the flue, Mr. Skelly was some what reluctant to consider the job. I was able to persuade him to look at it before rejecting it and he determined he could handle it. He made a quick inspection the day I called and then even arranged to come earlier than scheduled to clean and make the repairs. This was a very positive experience and Mr. Skelly was very professional and pleasant. Because of the age and style of the flues, he did not have the parts for my fireplace chimney flues, so he performed temporary repairs and promised to return when the parts arrive.

We only had to wait about a week to get him in and he and his assistant breezed through all of the chimneys. He also did some quick brick repair in our house. They were a little late, held up at a previous job, but did call a little ahead to tell us.
