Victor arrived early, was very careful to keep the area surrounding the fireplace clean while working, and did a very thorough and complete job. He also went on the roof to examine the furnace flue and determined that a cap was needed to cover a wide and open gap to prevent animals from nesting or getting inside the flue area. While on the roof he also voluntarily cleaned out tree gunk from two very high roof valleys. Overall, the service was excellent.

Vic was very informative & showed up promptly. We highly recommend Vic, and will keep on using him in the future. Our chimneys are sparkling and we're excited to use them in the fall time.

Victor arrived early and was extremely pleasant. He answered every question I had and explained his methods. When he was done, his work area was neat and cleaned. Victor also explained how often the chimney needed to be cleaned in the future (and it isn't often). Overall, a great experience.

Victor was a pleasure to deal with. He gave a prompt estimate, completed the job quickly and exactly when he said he would, cleaned up. Great sense of humor, too. We also had Victor clean the chimney in preparation for gas insert (that cost was $159.75).

The only thing he didn't do was dance on the rooftop and sing! Short of that, he was almost too good. Very pleasant.

His informative commentary was sincere and very interesting. It's not often you hear someone speak so passionately about old fireplaces. He also replaced an ash cover, as the old one was missing. I will hire him again, absolutely.

Excellent. Victor went above and beyond the call to make sure our fireplace was set up correctly, which is very reassuring to me as I know absolutely nothing about fireplaces and can't remember ever starting a log on fire. He was thorough in his explanation and process and made me feel comfortable with the terminology and methods for using a fireplace. It looks great and I am very happy with the work.

Showed up on time and after conferring with me, got straight to work. Pretty straightforward job though I was made a little nervous when he seemed to initially misunderstand my request. Since the vent/flue was now abandoned, I thought it could have been sealed. He at first thought it was still venting the hot water. Don't know how that happened. Anyway, he assured me that what he had planned was the correct procedure. He knows how to reassure a customer by saying things like "it's done to code" or "it's done right." The bottom line is I trust the guy, feel sure he stands by his work and certain of the good quality of his work.

It went well. He was on time, came prepared to finish the job, and worked quickly. I don't like ladders and our roof is very steep. I also did not want to hunt around for the right animal excluder's and I wasn't sure how you would inspect a chimney. So, for all these reasons, it was worth hiring him. He had everything ready, knew what he was doing, and it went well. When I saw how quickly and simply it all went, I felt like the price was a little high, but he was always very clear and upfront about the costs. To secure the flue, he inserted a shim. This seemed like a simple and reasonable solution, but I can't really assess the quality of his work. I felt like I could trust him to do good work, though. I'm not going up on that roof to check it! He is a nice guy and it was fun to talk to him.

We were able to schedule the appointment within two weeks of the time I called and this was in December. Victor was on time. He came in, told me what he was going to do, how long it would take and began working. He found our flue was off the hinge, put it back in place, added something to keep it from coming off again and showed us how far to safely open it. (no extra charge) He completed the work in the time he said he would, cleaned up and carried everything out to the garbage. He also suggested that we purchase a screen and open the glass doors when having fires. We have done so and it has enhanced the fireplace experience. Excellent service!

Perfectly. Victor arrived early and was efficient and effective. He gave me the status of my fireplace in terms of what shape it was in, in that it didn't need any repairs, other than what I had called him for (loose bricks in the firebox). He took the time to explain why that happened and that upon fixing it, the fireplace would be in excellent shape. He also cleaned out debris from a previous owner/previous contractor that had done work on the chimney outside. I then asked for him to look at the open ash door in the basement, behind the new water heater, making it unusable and a hazard, nuisance since I couldn't get it closed. He came up with an ingenious way to close it and permanently seal it. He does excellent work and I would call him again in a heartbeat.

The company was asked to inspect a non-functioning damper in my 80 year old house as part of inspection for sale. We had had it inspected when we moved in and were told it could not be repaired. However, these guys were able to do it and left copious notes for the new owners in treating it gently in the future. Definitely superior service and skill.

It went extremely well. He was very personable yet professional. He did clean work. Other than a cleaner fireplace, he left no trace of his work behind. I agree with other positive reviews from Angie's List. I'm glad I had him do the job.

It went very well. We purchased the house last spring and had not had the chimney inspected at that time, so I was a bit apprehensive. Mr. Skelley and his assistant were prompt, tidy and completed the job in a very businesslike manner.

I just moved here from the south. I don't know chimneys, and I don't know how diligent the previous owners of the house were about the chimney. Victor Skelley came out with a helper, and they inspected and cleaned the chimney. Victor answered all my questions with patience. The fee was exactly what I was quoted, and there were no surprises.

They did a good job. Victor explained to me about two vents I had on the side that I did not know were there. He showed me how they worked and explained how they would make the fireplace more efficient. He was quick and cleaned up everything after. I enjoyed working with him.
