See above. Was a wate of our time to meet with Victor and a waste of his time to come out. Phone conversation prior to appointment indicated the type of work that was needed, not just chimney sweeping.

Victor and his assistant came out on the date and time when specified. Were on time and very professional. They did a great job - very thorough and very careful as to put protection down on the area around the fireplace inside the house. It was amazing how many dead birds had collected on top of the flue that we were unaware of but now explains how at one point we had a large amount of flies in our family room which was very disgusting - realizing we needed to do more then just wait for the birds to leave in the fall. Victor was very knowledgable and eager to explain the whole process of how and why this happens. They installed critter guards on both of the chimney flues to prevent this from happening again. It is such a relief to know this is taken care of. The cost was totally fair for the service and supplies obtained. Will definitely recommend this company to anyone who requires this service. Victor and his partner did a great job! Not only were they on time, they took care to cover carpet, take shoes off, and take care of our home as if it were their own. Gave great advice on installation of future gas fireplace and did a great job inspecting and cleaning. Very professional and offered great advice about maintenance and operation. Great service experience. Selling this home so CSIA certification was a critical selection factor. There are only a few certified chimney professionals in the Twin Cities, including Copperfield. The initial scheduling call was professionally handled and we received a courtesy reminder of the scheduled visit. Victor and his assistant arrived on time and were very efficient. Enthusiastically and patiently shared knowledge of chimney and venting. Was very respectful of our home, using drop clothes and removing shoes. Found everything was in great condition but noted that the ash drop from the main floor does not meet current building code. He was able to fix it on-the-spot, sealing it with a new brick for a small additional fee. Highly recommended for chimney and venting work.

Came in for an inspection and clean, called ahead a few days before and when they were on the way. Two friendly guys and were clean and quick, gave me good advice. I'll have them come out to look at my second chimney once my basement is ready.

Victor and his assistant called ahead and were right on time. They did a thorough job and everything was very clean. Victor was very patient and took the time to explain the parts of the chimney, how they function, and how I should use and care for the fireplace, including what benchmarks to use for determining when it's time to clean it again. I particularly liked the fact that he described all the things that were good about the fireplace and didn't need attention. He was perfectly willing to say it's in fine shape and needs nothing extra done!

Victor was very courteous and prompt. He worked quickly and efficiently having all necessary equipment and parts readily available. I especially liked that he did not try to clean a already clean fireplace! I would use him again.

As usual, Victor arrived on time and worked efficiently and carefully (moved white carpet away, etc.). He suggested that, given our use of the fireplace, I call for another cleaning/inspection in about three years. Victor has been servicing my fireplace since 2007, shortly after I purchased my house. When we used the fireplace at first, smoke built up throughout the house. After trying some ventilation solutions (open windows, etc.), Victor recommended that we extend the flu so that the chimney would be 17' high instead of 12. Victor made sure that the extension worked aesthetically and fit with the style of my mid-50's home. And the flu extension does work well. Victor always shows up on time and offers great advice; I think he is just as concerned with making my fireplace function as he is with making money (example: he could tell me to get my chimney cleaned annually, but he recommends an every-three-year plan, given my usage). Of the people I hire to help me with home repair and maintenance, Victor is one of my favorites!

Victor and his associate arrive right on time. Began the cleaning and inspection of our fireplace immediately. Victor noticed there wasn't a cap on our furnace vent, and offered to install one. His associate cleaned the fireplace and flue, and was done in about 20 minutes time. Victor came off the roof and said that they don't make caps for our furnace exhaust anymore, though he could cut a new one and install it right then. I thought that the price he quoted me was reasonable, especially since he said he could do it right then. While he was doing that, his partner made sure I knew how to operate the fireplace, and gave pointers on the best way to do it, as we had just moved into the house and hadn't used the fireplace yet. They were both very clean, couldn't even tell they were here after they left. Will definitely use them again.

The earliest appointment was about six weeks out, but then I also called in autumn, no doubt a busy time prior to fireplace season. Rain was in the forecast, so the office called and asked whether Victor could come out earlier in the day, which fit our schedule. Upon seeing the large metal grate over the double chimney, likely with rusted bolts and very difficult to remove, Victor opted to clean the chimney from below and was able to get past the zig-zag Cozy Heat structure to clean the chimney. The price was in the ballpark of other quotes. Victor was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and tidy. Would recommend.

I've used Victor in the past and have always been happy with his enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge. It took a couple of weeks to get an appointment this time of year. I'd recommend giving these guys some work in the spring if you can, sounds like that's when they can use work the most. Good communication, fast and clean work, and quality service recommendations are all aspects of what these guys do. I would definitely recommend them again. This time, our 2 fireplaces didn't need a lot of work, but Victor had Aaron mortar in a firebrick over our ash pit opening. There was no service door to the pit, and so this will make cleanup after fires that much easier.

We have been hiring Vic to do our chimney sweeping since we moved into our house in 1998. He is fabulous, and we will never hire anyone else. During the most recent visit, he recommended that we seal an opening that was in the bottom of our fireplace...just to keep things as safe as possible. (It used to be the opening for a long-since out-of-commission ash repository.) He charged a very nominal fee to do the service, and he did it right then and there, without having to schedule another appointment. I cannot recommend Vic enough. He is professional, courteous, honest, affordable, knowledgeable and thorough.

My realtor met with chimney sweep persons at house. I was not present. She describe them as professional and excited about there job.

Based on reviews we selected Copperfield. It was easy to make an appointment, they were very professional, came on time. If they could improve on one thing, it would be improved communication about what types of things are included in the price and what will be add-ons at the time of scheduling -- maybe an email with a rate sheet or guide.

I had my chimney cleaned. It had been years. Victor was scheduled to arrive around 1:00. That morning someone called to confirm. Later, he called to see if he could come earlier because there was a cancelation, which was fine with me. He was prompt for the new time. While his assistant cleaned the chimney, Victor cleaned out the gutters. As always, both workers cleaned up after themselves and did a good job. A lot of work got done in a short time. In fact, they were finished and left before it was even time for them to arrive for our original appointment. The chimney cleaning was $175 and the gutter cleaning was $175.

Victor came to check out both the lower level chimney as well as the patio chimney and indicated that only the patio chimney needed to be cleaned. He and his assistant cleaned the chimney in the patio, removing the squirrel nest and also installed a screen and cap to prevent entry of wildlife. There has been no further activity by wildlife in the chimney area. They did a great job and were very professional and responsive and saved us money by informing us of the main fireplace chimney being clean. He also had the chimney screen with him which was an unusual size which he said he often needs. If he hadn't it with him, he would have had to order it. Thanks Victor.

Based on the A+ ratings I saw on Angie's List, I had Victor of Copperfield Chimney Sweeps over to clean the liner on our new Wood burning fireplace insert. My wife was home when he came. She was impressed with his chattiness and interest in our new woodstove addition. He gave us an estimate on repairing the chimney top on our 1935 Como Park home. Again, based on his stellar Angie's list ratings, I hired him to do the work. He fit me in quickly, as he had a free half-day that week. Paraphrasing him, he said essentially: " I'll leave the bill in the door. Take a look at the work and either call me with any questions or send me a check in the mail." I took a look at the work and called him with a some questions. First, he used RED mortar vs matching the existing white mortar. To that query he responded that the red mortar matched the red bricks. White morter would give "effervescence." Now, I am only a Healthcare Provider, but I do know a fair amount about construction techniques. In my experience, one uses Muriatic acid to clean masonary after mortaring. I have done this process myself. Second, I saw what I thought might be some cracks on the new concrete crown he installed. The weather had been very hot, and I was worried the crown might have cured too fast and cracked. I told him I wanted to get my ladder out to take a closer look at his work. Victor suddenly changed his tone. He became very aggressive, angry and confrontational. "There's no cracks! I worked my a** off in 100 degree heat to get your job done!" " I have $600 into that job and expect to be paid!!!!. This was a $1000 job, not a $5000 job!" He got me REALLY stressed out and angry with this outburst. The red cement all over my hoses can be overlooked, I guess. Upon closer inspection, the "cracks" I thought I might be seeing in the crown were shadows from trowel marks. The repair looks solid, overall. I am not at all happy with the sloppy mortaring and the red mortar all over my bricks. The aggressive attack I received cannot be forgiven. It is sad that a "Professional" expects $1100 for 6-8 hours of work (with MINIMAL materials cost) and considers my "little" job to be unworthy of attention to detail or good customer service. I certainly don't make $100-$150 per hour, and $1100 IS a good chunk of money to me. I have told many of my friends and neighbors of this experience. One suggested I was being to h****** Copperfield Chimney Sweeps, and that maybe Victor had "a really bad day" the day I talked to him. Maybe he did. But, in my mind, I do not forgive the way I was treated by Victor. By the way, I did pay him, IN FULL, for the work he contracted with me to perform. BUYER BEWARE

She also gave me recommendations for people that could do the work I needed done on my wood-stove.

It went very well. He was earlier than expected and called to make sure that was ok. He set up the video and had me watch it with him and he explained everything we were looking at and the condition it was in. He was the same inspector who came out 5 yrs ago and was able to remember some of the issues and what had changed. He was also respectful of my carpet and furniture being careful with his equipment and having covers for the area he was working in, also took his shoes off. He was pleasant, knowlegeable, efficient, professional and competent.

Victor and his assistant Aaron arrived on time as they always have in the past. This is my 3rd experience with this company, at two total sites. They cleaned both chimneys, did some minor repair to the masonry work, and assured us that the caps (chimalator) was in good working order and up to code. Also gave us tips on how to reduce the slight 'fireplace scent' in one of the rooms that we get notice on windy days. Cleaned up to the point where I'd never know they were here. So glad Aaron is learning this trade--we will be calling Victor and Aaron again in the future!

He and his assistant were on time, organized, professional and did great work in a clean and timely fashion. Even though I have had other sweeps clean the chimneys before, Victor was the only one to have ever pointed out an issue with the lintel and mantel on one of them.
