Copperfield Chimney Sweeps & Repair

My chimney service went very well. There's not much to detail, really. I was worried about whether there would be a lot of ash and soot dust in the house or on the floor during or after the service, but there was none at all. The sweep did a great job protecting my house, furniture and flooring from damage by the dirt, ash and soot which dropped into the fireplace during the cleaning. He also did a great job explaining how often we should clean the chimney depending on the kind of wood we burn and how often we use the fireplace; about every 2 years if we mostly burn pine or resinous and soft woods, or 5 - 6 years if we burn mostly hard woods like oak and ash.

It went fine, they were on time, professional and there were no problems.

He was very nice and friendly. He seemed very knowledgeable. He made some suggestions, before doing any works, as it was going to be expensive. He also informed that if the suggestions do not work, he would clean the chimney for us. He was very kind and responsive. I will call him back to check the same as the suggestions, do not seem to work.

Smoke from the had been backing up into my living room, making my fireplace unuseable. I called Copperfield Chimney Sweeps and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. After they got to my house it didn't take long to figure out that I had called the right people. In addition to being competent and personable, Victor and his assistant are not afraid of hard work. In the course of doing the regular sweeping and cleaning stuff, Victor figured out that my fireplace vent was stuck in a not-quite-open position, contributing to my smoke problem. He hammered and pried at the thing for more than half an hour to get it working. It was hard, dirty work. I got tired just watching him. Now my fireplace works fine. Copperfield is a first class operation.

It was a good interaction and they were very educational. They were prompt and informative. The price was good and I will use them again.

Terrific! Victor and Aaron were on time, professional, and did everything they could to provide excellent service. Our ash pit is in a challenging position behind a water heater, but they found a way to work around it. After they were done the area looked like it did when it was first installed 100 years ago. Victor also provided an estimate for work we would need done on the top of our chimney and had some very valuable recommendations. I would absolutely recommend Victor to anyone that needs a chimney sweep or chimney repair. Thank you, VIctor!

Victor and his assistant were very punctual and did a great job prepping and cleaning the area. I complained about the draw through the fireplace and Victor suggested an open box cap to replace the restrictive kind of cap I had before. He replaced it at a fair charge. Victor also suggested I clean the front of my fireplace with a certain kind of cleaner and then was kind enough to leave me with some of it before he left. He was right, the cleaner worked wonders!

Itwent very well. The owner is very friendly and was very quick to explain how everything works.

arrived everything was covered or moved ---with light carpet he did a fantastic job --- answered all questions ---no up selling or add ons---said lower not upper should be gas ---lower is a walk out level but fireplace is below grade -----

Victor arrived on time after calling to confirm the appointment in the morning. He did a good job of cleaning the fireplace and inspecting additional fireplaces and explaining the function. We will use this company again in the future.

They were very professional and knowledgeable. My property was handled with care. The person, who serviced the chimney, knew his job well and also explained the do?s and don?ts for extended use of the chimney. It was comfortable to do business with them. I highly recommend his services and will use the same in future.

Crew did a great job. They were on time, and covered the flooring where they walked and worked. Victor took extra time (at no charge) to give us some advice on our insert. If you have dogs, you will need to put them in another room or outside as Victor is uncomfortable around dogs. I appreciated that he told me that up front so I could put mine outside while the work was being performed.

It went very well! The office called a day ahead as a reminder; and they called 30 minutes prior to arrival on the day of the work - very nice, as I needed to travel to the location. Mr. Skelly explained fully what they would be doing, how the cleaning would be accomplished. Initially, Mr. Skelly recommended a different "cap" on top of the chimney for the one servicing the furnace. He later told me that that was not needed, since the furnace (a new furnace) was vented on an outside wall of the house. Of course! I just had a new furnace installed, and had forgot about the sidewall venting. His advice was appreciated; moreover, his honesty in letting me know that the new cap (screen) was not needed was was great. Honesty is always appreciated. At the close of the work, Mr. Skelly offered a few maintenance tips (like taking off the vine on the chimney), the operation of the damper, etc. Everyone was cleaned nicely, and belonging close the fireplace (in the living room) were put back in place. Very professional work. Credible and honest. Highly recommended.

They were wonderful. A squirrel had fallen down my chimney, so I needed the cap replaced to prevent other squirrels from falling down it. Copperfield was finishing up for the season when I called, but they came out quickly to replace the chimney cap. They also gave me an estimate for tuckpointing work that could be done next season. I called them out for this work in the spring, and I now have the best looking chimney on the block.

Vic and his assistant arrived on time, explained the process, cleaned and addressed the condition of my chimney, and were on their way. Very tidy and straightforward. Nice team.

I had a great experience with Copperfield Chimney Sweeps. Victor was very friendly and professional. He is the owner/operator of the business. He called me about an hour before our scheduled appointment to make sure we were still on. He arrived on time (actually got to the house before me) with his partner and immediately went to work on cleaning the upstairs chimney while his partner cleaned the basement chimney. He inspected both of the chimneys himself and made a repair to the mortar in the upstairs firplace which he explained was pretty common. He also replaced a pin on the flue door and gave me several good suggestions on maintenance and overall use of the fireplace. He clearly was very knowledgable in his field and answered all my questions before he left. Both he and his partner were very efficient and were done within an hour of their arrival. I couldn't even tell they had been there, as they left my house as clean as when they arrived. I've already used the fireplace about 3 times in the last week since they cleaned them and I have nothing but good things to say about Victor and his company.

They were very responsive, appearing on short notice when we learned in the midst of a remodeling project that the chimney needed to be cleaned before the gas insert could be installed. After removing the damper, Vincent took the time to advise me to label and store it somewhere that it would stay with the house, in case the next owner wanted to re-convert to a wood burning fireplace.

The owner and an apprentice came early, worked very quickly, were informative. They suggested a cheaper way to plug the exhaustss. I went for it. We had had chimney swifts living just above one of the fireplaces. All the animals were gone but they left a mess which these gentlemen cleaned up, as requested. The owner told me what would be most efficient use of the fireplaces (in the unlikely event that I would want to). They suggested that I use gas below and wood above. The owner also told how to make the upstairs fireplace (3 sided) most efficient. He provided good documentation of what was done so that the next owner could easily get the chimney unplugged and make use of the fireplaces,. The charge seemed reasonable to me. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The company representative was very friendly and quickly found a time and date that would work for both of us. Victor and another gentleman came out and did a great job cleaning the chimney. He fixed the flu which was a bit frozen, and also explained care for future uses. They cleaned up and you couldn't tell that they had been here. It was a great experience.

Mr Skelley and his assistant arrived on time and brought in their drop cloths and vacuum, they also removed their shoes which is much appreciated. They first started working on my damper handle and after some WD-40 and elbow grease got it working again. They vacuumed the fireplace and then one went onto the roof to do the inspection/cleaning. Mr Skelley installed an additional piece of wire screen on the chimney cap to keep out animals. They advised me about a new door or screen for the fireplace, and cleaned up really well. I will call them again when I need a chimney sweep.

Dismantled and cleaned everything. Suggested a new type of chimney cap and told me the price before installing. Took the old part away with him when I asked. Commented on good things about my stove. Told me of pending work I would need to have done. Made a lot of suggestions on how to get the most out of the wood I plan to burn and when I would need the chimney cleaned again. Left the house cleaner than when he came. I completely trust him and his work.

They arrived on time, were very informative and told me a lot about my chimney and how it is made, lined, etc. Their cap provider gave them the wrong part for my chimney which is unfortunate as they had made a special trip that morning to pick it up for the job. They contacted the supplier and drove back out for the correct part and were able to take care of everything that day without any inconvenience to me. Would be happy to have them back and will use them again if I need repairs or for my next cleaning.

Upon arrival, Vic looked at the setup (fireplace insert within a zero clearance fireplace) and indicated that he could not clean it sufficiently because it wasn't up to code (it came with the house) and attempting to clean it would be a waste of our money. He DIDN"T charge us for the service call because of this which we thought was a very considerate gesture. He was a professional and knew what he was talking about. We would recommend his services to anyone.

We were Victor's first job of the day. They called to see if they could come over a little early, which was great with me! The cleaning job was incredible and not a speck of soot to be found when they finished. After our fireplace, they went to my daughter's house and performed an equally excellent job. Both families are delighted and we will use them, and recommend them, in the future
