We asked them to come out to a home that needed to have all windows replaced. The sales representative was 15 minutes late, though he did call to let us know that he would be late. We told him upfront that we were in somewhat of a rush, as one of us had to go to work and the other to an appointment. He did take measurements, but took a good amount of time telling stories about his past work experience and thoroughly trashing new construction and new home builders. He also told us he just assumed there was lead in the windows. He offered to test them, but made it appear that that would be a waste of time. He provided a verbal estimate on the spot and told us he would fax us a written one when he returned to the office. Thursday night we called the office because we had not yet received the estimate (his vist was on Wednesday at noon). They advised us that they would speak with the sales rep and send it out the next day. We called them again Monday early afternoon and they coudl not locate our estimate. Needless to say we will not be using them, and we will not recommend them to anyone else!

Ordered 4 windows in October with planned installation in mid-November. 3 of the 4 windows were installed on schedule. The 4th window was not shipped and did not arrive until early January. Installation went well, though the window space was opened a bit longer than appeared necessary. The workers cleaned up and the windows are a big improvement over what they replaced. We won't know until at least spring if the leak was fixed.

Our experience overall was a positive one. The research that I did i felt was very thorough and got bids from 3 companies. B&R was the highest by $1500 but clearly had the highest quality window in my mind. I even went to one of the other salesman's home who had Alside windows put in just to see how they looked and how well they worked. Both my Wife and I did not like what we saw. They just looked cheap and did not seem to move nearly as smooth as the elements windows. We then asked for referrals from Dan (B&R Salesman) and he provided those to us. I met with one of them and they were very positive about B&R. That sealed the deal for us. One issue after it was done was that our bathroom window did not have the opaque glass like we requested. I called them up and immediately they took care of the issue without any hesitation. Lastly, they use their own crews and for me that is a HUGE plus. If I have a problem, I don't want to be pointed to the installer and go back and forth on the problem. I call one number and deal with one company and that is it. Their people put them in so whether it is an installer issue or a manufacturing problem, it makes it a lot easier to deal with.

Very positive experience from initial visit by sales person to finished project. The price was excellent for the quality of the product. The time-lines were right on for receiving the windows. The crew was EXCELLENT. They completed the entire job in one day (had originally told me it would be a two day job) The were neat, professional, and FUN to deal with. I would recommend them to everyone.

It was pretty good. Overall, the project went better than expected. It was a 2 tone job made to mimic cedar shingles.

I was interviewing contractors to have our windows replaced & contacted B&R after seeing some great reviews. I was trying to get all of my interviews in one week, along with balancing my family's needs, so I wouldn't say I was in a hurry, but I was motivated to get it done before I got distracted. I set up an appointment for the same day as my call, which really impressed me, but, when the salesman arrived, he explained to me that a previous special needs customer had a short window of time for a job she needed and asked if we could reschedule. I said it was fine, but after 48 hours I still hadn't gotten a call back. I ended up going with another contractor, but I would still consider B&R for future projects.

Overall they did a great job. Only one glitch in that the day after I placed the order I called to update the dimensions on the living room window sizes (change from 1/3x1/3x1/3 to 1/4x1/2x1/4). They said it was no problem and made the changes to the order. Unfortunately the wrong window was delivered so another one had to be ordered. After a couple of phone calls we finally had an install date and the last window was installed. The installers were wonderful and did high quality work.

Their sales department is amazing. My husband and I liked the fact that they have been in business for a very long time and do not us subcontractors. We were willing to pay more for this experience than some of the other quotes we had gotten. They showed up on time but did not tell us when they were leaving and left items sitting in our driveway for the following day. We were not expecting that. Also, the crew did not clean up as well as we were led to believe they would after the job was done and, again, did not tell us they were leaving. There were many sharp metal pieced laying around outside our house and property. We have small children and a dog so I was not happy about that. My husband did contact them and they were very apologetic, saying that clean-up is usually done in the spring when the snow has melted with a metal detector. This information would have been helpful to know ahead of time. This made sense to some degree but again I have a dog and young children who love to play outside in the snow so I could not wait for springtime clean up of sharp metal pieces. Despite the mess they left, they did a good job and I probably would hire them again. They also stopped by in the spring as promised. We may use them for windows in the future (they do have great windows).

Did a phenomenal job! We received a tax credit for the windows. I have referred them to others! Very professional job as well.

Salesman was friendly, gave quote while in home, no estimate in writing, but did follow up with telephone call.

The crew worked so efficiently they were able to complete the whole job in two and a half days. I was impressed by how well they worked around our central air conditioning, electrical, and cable connections. Before leaving, they thoroughly cleaned up the whole work area and even used a large magnet to pick up any screws or nails left on the ground. They did an excellent job and our new siding looks great.

Their workmanship was very good, did additional work as they tore out the old ones. They repaired the damage that needed to be done to get the project done. They went above and beyond.

The only problem we had was that we ended up getting a pea sized hole in one of the windows and my husband had to call several times before they would come out to replace the glass in the window. Other then that, they did a very good job. They were clean and we have had no problems with the windows.

Everything turned out fine. However it took a little bit long to do the work, about two or three months.

They were very personable but a lot of fun. They had a great sense of humor. They got here on time and went right to work. It took them two days to finish the project. They cleaned up after themselves when they were done. They were just really efficient. I feel that their prices were competitive.

They were very good; they were a lot better than the other companies that I had gotten estimates from. They were a lot more professional than the other companies and they call me four or five times a year to see if there is anything else that they can help me with.

They did a very good job and every night when they left the yard was cleaned up. It didn't look like any work was being done. They did a really good job.

I love them. The sales team was very helpful. The install crew was fabulous, on time, friendly and efficient. There are only 2 places where the paint chipped. I wish I'd done this sooner!

They did an excellent job. Ken, the installer, was terrific. He was punctual and a hard worker. They stayed within the time that they gave me to finish the job. I would recommend them. The vinyl weathered a hail storm and came out with no damage so I was pleased with what they did for me.

The windows were completed & ready for installation before the estimated date, so installation was a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. The crew was professional, experienced, efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. They arrived at the scheduled time and got right to work. Due to parking space constraints, they had to shift vehicles several times that day and they stayed friendly and professional! They started at the front, with one set of windows, and worked their way around the house. It was a nice May 2007 spring day, but they never had more than two windows removed at once. The crew was very careful and watchful of the cat, that he didn't escape from the open windows. They removed all the old windows and trash, so we had none of that to deal with. There were no surprises and we are thrilled with our new windows. They work just as described and demonstrated to us. We are also thrilled with the noise reduction the new windows have given us.

A few days later, I received a certified letter to appear in conciliation court for loss in wages. It is very rare that the court ever awards for loss in wages of this kind. It states this on the county's web site. No materials were ordered and I was not on their schedule. They were out absolutely nothing. I am out my deposit, the time it took me to research their false claims and time off of work to go to the courthouse in Hastings. Their behavior was mean-spirited. I went to court and Builders and remodelers did not appear. The case was dismissed. This fortified my conclusions. I hired another company. The project turned out wonderful. The owner told me he gets his business through referrals and has never had to advertise. Their honesty, quality and craftsmanship sold/sells itself.

The installers did an excellent job.
