I called Todd on the evening of January 4th. He answered even though it was 7:00PM. My garage door opener was not working. We set a time for the next morning. He was right on time. He not only fixed the problem, but did extra tuning up of the apparatus. Call him first!

Based on our description of the problem, Todd described the repair work he expected we needed and provided a cost estimate. He was able to complete the repair work within 24 hours of our call and at the estimated cost. Todd was professional, efficient, and considerate - even replacing two lightbulbs that were out in the garage for us before leaving.

Todd called me as he promised, just before arriving. I wasn't able to be on site, so we arranged for payment by check in the mail next morning. I paid about what I was hoping to pay -- which was great. I'm guessing others would have charged more. Todd was easy to work with. His repair is great ... and he bent the door bracing strut back into shape without replacing it!

The door now runs smoother and better than when it was new, and because he didn't have to replace the cable, he charged less than his estimate. We have worked with many contractors and repair people, and he rates at the top of our experiences for sure. We recommend ASAP Door Company highly.

I put in a request for a bid on a Sunday via the website. I got a call back from Todd just a couple hours afterward, and he scheduled to come to my house on that Tuesday between 10:00 - noon. He called me Tuesday at 11 AM to verify my address, saying he'd be there in 45 minutes, and he didn't make it until almost 1:00 PM. There was no courtesy call to let me know he was running late; in fact, I called him at 12:30 to ask if he was still coming. When he arrived, he blamed his lateness on someone else instead of just taking responsibility for it himself. He came over and took some measurements and I told him what I was looking for. When I asked him about Clopay doors (the manufacturer I'd been looking at originally), he told me that they were total c*** and they were pan-style doors. I feel as though he was giving me bad information, because although Clopay does sell type 1 "pan-style" doors, they also sell type 3 "sandwich" style doors, which is what I'd been looking at. Todd didn't give me a written estimate, only a verbal one. He left me with one piece of literature on NorthCentral garage doors and nothing else. I had two other bids with other companies come in afterward- Todd's estimate was around $1750, the other two bids were $1538 and $1603, respectively. I'm the type of person who doesn't mind going with the highest bid, if the sales person hits the nail on the head. I feel that Todd could have been more professional overall - it doesn't bother me so much that he was late, but he should have called to let me know so. Also, a written estimate would have been helpful, as well as more information on the products he deals with. Also, he initially tried talking me down in price range, almost as though I couldn't afford what I wanted. I'm a businessperson myself, and I know how important it is to treat clients as though they are the only ones, and to never assume anything about the client's knowledge about a product or about their price range. I will be working with a different contractor for my garage door.

My garage door opener quit working. I could hear the motor grinding away but could not see anything happening. I called ASAP, talked to the owner of the company and described the problem. He diagnosed the probable cause over the phone, told me what it would cost and sent someone out to fix it. Workman showed up on time (just a couple of hours later), fixed the problem and did a general tune-up as well. They recommended that I replace the garage door itself, as it is a large wooden door. Very heavy and in rather poor condition, but I opted not to replace it at this time. It's been about three weeks now, and the garage door opener is working fine. In fact, it works more quietly and smoothly than it ever did.

Todd came out and was a pleasure to work with. Fixed my garage door sensor in no time. Highly recommended!
