Absolutely Guaranteed Appliance Repair

We had a dreadful squeak in our Maytag Neptune (stacking) washer/dryer and were afraid that after13 years and 2 moves it was going to die. The Neptune unit is is a small first floor closet which we use as the Laundry area, and stacked together, it is awful to move or work on. We searched the List and decided on Absolutely Guaranteed because we like to use independents. if sometimes they might be more expensive, we have found them to be more responsible and willing to work with our schedule. Al arrived at the agreed upon time, diagnosed the problem and said the squeak might be belts or the motor, that he needed to order the motor, called back when he had them in stock. We he returned, he had to pull out the whole unit enough so he could get behind it and make the adjustments, and pull the motor if indeed that was the issue. Al discovered that during the last move, the motor hadn't been bolted to the motor mount and that it had worked itself loose during the spin cycles. He changed the belts, tightened everything, checked everything out, checked the dryer, put in some new lights, and took back the motor. Through it all, he was cordial, conversational, and generally a pleasure to work with. He's been in business a long time, and it shows. I would hire him again in a minute. Essentially, we have a totally rehabbed washer/dryer that will last another 13 years for $200. BTW - no restocking fee on the motor.

I called Al because my washing machine wasn?t working. I described the problem, and he knew the most likely cause. Therefore, he was able to bring the necessary part to the appointment. He came within the appointment window set, and called me ahead of time with his approximate arrival time. Al was very nice and efficient. I would call him again with any appliance problem.

We have a 1950s Roper Bake Master built-in oven. The pilot light went out and we could not relight it. We called around and because of it's age we were striking out. No one knew how to fix it or had experience with these ovens. Finally?Al was recommended to us by a friend of a friend so we gave him a call. We left a voicemail, Al called back within 24 hours and he was at our house within a couple days. He knew *exactly* what was wrong and how to get the pilot light lit. In less than an hour our oven was fixed. Al was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. His fee was reasonable. He's a former Minnegasco technician and he knows his stuff. We highly recommend him.

Didn't use them as they never called back.

Al is a great guy, he was responsive and on time. I would/will most certainly hire Al again!

Al returned my call promptly and made an appointment to come out later that same day. He arrived right on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, and got the dishwasher up and running flawlessly. His customer service, demeanor, and professionalism are outstanding, and I'd use him again in a heartbeat!

I called him and left a message. He returned the call within a couple of hours. As I described the problem to him, he understood the problem and knew the part that was needed. He said he would check availability of the part and call me back. He called back shortly and said the part would be in the Cities within two days. He then scheduled a time to replace the part on the day after its scheduled arrival. He provided a two hour window for the appointment. He called on the day of the appointment to tell me when he was thirty minutes away. It was a tough repair physically and he hung in there until the job was done. He was careful to clean up any messes that were made. He stayed to check the operation of the dishwasher and verified that all was working. His charge for the work was probably less than what was actually appropriate to the repair. This is the third time I have used his service and he has always been punctual, professional, and helpful in answering any questions I had. I would never think of using anyone other than him for this type of work. It should be kept in mind that his is, apparently, a one-man operation. Thus, if he's with a customer, a call to him will probably go to his voice mail. However, he has always returned my call in a timely manner. On the plus side, when he is working on my project, he does not stop to take any calls. He is focused entirely on the work at hand. I recommend him without reservation.

Al first returned my phone call promptly. He worked with me to attempt to have me fix the problem on my own. Once he determined that I could not fix it myself, then he scheduled an appointment (for the next day). He arrived with all the parts he needed (as well as a part for an unrelated repair on another appliance that I was going to do myself). He quickly fixed the problem by installing a new mother board on the refrigerator. The results were immediate and decisive. It fixed not only the immediate problem of my refrigerator not cooling, but also the condensation problem and the ice maker problems I had been experiencing. The replacement motherboard was a tricky install that I would not recommend to the do-it-yourselfer. There are about 20 wires going to the motherboard, and they DO NOT go in the same places on the replacement board as they were installed on the original board. I liked that he was so willing to work with me and only came out as a last resort when he realized I couldn't do it myself.

Al, (owner of "Absolutely Guaranteed"), has been doing repairs for 35+ years and his customer service was number one. He arrived when he was sceduled to arrive, he was very polite, and exceptionally knowledgable. He got right to the heart of the problem by putting a lot of effort into removing necessary parts carefully, piece by piece. He was here about an hour and a half and put everything back when he finished. I feel like I have a brand new side by side refrigerator. Everything is working beautifully, and as a bonus, even my ice maker is usable again.

Was getting ice build up in bottom of side-by-side freezer section. Previous repair person unable to fix the problem. Turns out the freezer was way too cold--about -20 degrees F. Al came out and identified the control board as a problem that needed to be fixed before further diagnosis could be done. Replaced the control board. That did not fix the problem but did enable Al to determine what was really going on. He thawed everything out and replaced the thermistors. All is well. Temperatures in both freezer and fridge match their settings and no more ice build up in the freezer. Would definitely call Al again in the future.

He called ahead of time. Arrived during the agreed on time period (2 hours). Was very courteous. Was fast.

I called to make a appt.to fix a leaking washing machine. He came out on time and was very pleasent to be around. This is the second time i have used this company and will do so in the future as they are the BEST.

The dishwasher was blowing fuses. It was most likely the motor. That was shortly out. dishwasher would run.

I called & left message on 1/30/13 around 5pm. Got call back on 1/31/13 around 10am. Appointment set up for 2/1 at 11am-1pm. On 2/1 about 9am got call that Al could come then as he had finished previous job. He arrived shortly after & was finished by 11am. He made sure that all was working well before leaving.

Everything went well. Al is a very personable, helpful man who knows what he is doing. I would definitely hire him again.

Al was wonderful to work with. He has a strong desire to do the job right. We encountered a part for the refridgerator that was incorrect when provided and he went through ordering the part at least three times before obtaining it correctly. Given the delay in proper part delivery, he did offer me the choice to do it quicker. I chose to wait for the part to be provided to him correctly. When it came to installing parts for both appliances, he was quick and clean in his work. The refridgerator door hasn't aligned itself this well in years!!!! :-) The dishwasher is also in good shape now.

The owner, Al, is a very competent appliance service man. When he worked on our oven control circuitry, he did a significant amount of diagnostic work to be sure he was replacing exactly the right parts. This was intended to save us money. He subsequently replaced the glass in the oven door, which was a much simpler job, but he had exactly the right parts with him, which made the job go smoothly.

Al scheduled a service call the day after my phone call. He was very prompt, immediately diagnosed the problem, and had the required part with him. Installed the new part quickly. Cleaned up afterward. Final price was consistent with initial estimate. Extremely smooth process, and Al was very courteous. I will definitely use him again for appliance repair.

I called Absolutely Guaranteed after reading good reviews on Angie's List. When I described my problem, the repairman gave me an estimate of $250. After talking with my husband about it, I decided it was reasonable, and called the repairman back. My first call wasn't answered (Absolutely Guaranteed is just one very experienced guy who gets a lot of calls, so when he's busy he can't get back to everyone right away) but the second time I called, he got back to me, and I was able to arrange a time for the repair. The window of time we agreed on was 8 to 10 a.m. He called me just after 8 to let me know he was on his way, and he was there before 9. He did everything possible to make sure everything was convenient for me. One part of the repair involved using a smelly adhesive, and he did that in the bathroom with the fan on, so I barely noticed the smell. The repair was done by 9:30. In addition to fixing the problem with the dryer itself, he pointed out that there might be a bird nest somewhere up in the vent, and suggested talking to the association about it. At the end he asked me to write a check for $184.60-- well below his estimate, and very affordable. Everything went well and I would definitely recommend this repairman.

It took them a very, very long time to call me back. I originally left one message with my name and phone number, and said that my dishwasher was broken. I didn't hear anything for a week and a half, so I called them again and left another message. They called me back a few days later. I told them I went with someone else because it took so long to hear back from them. The person who called me back did not apologize.

The service was great. He did exactly what he said he was going to do and he did an awesome job at it.

It went very well and did not take long to complete the repair. He had a replacement part with him.

Al was very professional and responsive. He called us back very quickly and we were able to get the machine fixed in a very short period of time. He was quick to diagnose the problem, offered a fair quote for parts and labor and did the job in a short amount of time. I would strongly recommend Al's company for any appliance repairs that you might have.

It went well overall. The problem for each item was assessed on 06/19/12 and I was told at that time how much it would cost to repair each item. I paid for a little over 1/2 of the total cost at that time. He returned on 06/22/12 to complete the job. I think Al was very thorough in his assessment and very up front with the cost to repair each part. Al was also very honest, prompt, friendly and professional.
