We've used this service before with success, so called again to look at have a look at a chronically unreliable set of icemakers in a 2014 model Electrolux refrigerators. Call was responded to straightaway and cheerfully, but regretfully-- business does not/no longer services Electrolux brand of refrigerators. Would still be on the short list of providers if we need service for other appliances' issues.

Al was preparing to go out of town, but he squeezed us in so that we would not need to wait until his return in a couple of weeks. We have used Al in the past and trust him to know what he is doing and give us a fair price. Al diagnosed the problem over the phone and picked up the part he thought we needed before arriving. He was correct and had the machine fixed within a half hour or less. Having this guy around to repair our washing machine, which is over 18 years old, has allowed us to put off replacing it. We are very fortunate to have found Al and dread the day that he shuts down his business.

I wasn't there when Al did the work but my husband relayed that he was very professional, very friendly and even showed up early for the appointment (he called me first to make sure it was ok to do so). There was a part needed that wasn't in stock at the distributor so Al drove back to his shop to get it and then came back. Stove works beautifully, like brand new. We are very happy we called him - the price was reasonable and certainly much less than a new stove would have cost.
Description of Work: Needed to get our older stove fixed. Wasn't heating properly and the burners hadn't worked automatically for some time (had to light them with a lighter)

Probably a nice guy. I sent an email, backed up by a voicemail, followed up by 2 more voicemails over the course of 2 days, all with my contact info and what I would consider a polite request for an appointment. Never heard anything back. I guess it's all or nothing with Al, but I will look for someone who has the professionalism to reply even if to say "I'm not available."

My gas Clothes Dryer wasn't heating up. I called at 10 am and got an apt for the same day! Al Ligons, the owner, called to say he was on his way at 11:30 am. He was in uniform, very polite, very familiar with the model of dryer that I had. He was very efficient, & organized. He figured out the problem in a matter of minutes had the part replaced & my dryer put back together. He tested everything & I was back in business! I would highly recommend Absolutely Guaranteed Appliance Repair.

The history of my phone calls and conversations with this company: Saturday, July 11th, 2015: 11:01 am: Called the number provided on Angie's List. I left a message stating the problem I was having with my dishwasher. On his listing on Angie's List, it stated his hours were M-F from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm so I was unsure if I would hear from him prior Monday. Monday, July 13th, 2015: 3:15 pm: I hadn't heard from the company so I called again and left a second message. The message I left stated that I didn't know I he was too busy, not interested or just didn't work on the weekends. I explained that he was the only person I called so I was hoping to hear from him ether way, yes I will help you or no I won't help you. Tuesday, July 14th, 2015: 9:28 am: The company returned my call. He asked me what the issue was with my dishwasher. I explained to him what was wrong and what steps I had already taken to try to fix it. He asked me for the model number and I didn't have it with me at as I had forgotten it and I was at work. He told me to get the model number, call him and leave a message on his phone with the model number and he would look up the part and time table and get me a quote. Tuesday, July 14th, 2015: 3:01 pm: I left work a little early to make sure I could leave him a message during his normal business hours. I left him my name and number along with the model number of my dishwasher so he could what he told me he was going to do. Wednesday, July 15th, 2015: 3:13 pm: I called and left a message to make sure that he received my information that I left for him the day before. I reiterated that he was my only call and that if he is not interested, I'd be happy to start looking elsewhere if he was not interested in my business. Thursday, July 16th, 2015: 3:53 pm: I called and left another message to see if he had obtained the information he told me that he was going to get to give me an accurate quote. Today is Sunday, July 19th, 2015. I have yet to hear back from him. The only time I spoke to him was when he called me and I answered my phone which was on Tuesday, the 14th. Obviously, he has a number of great reviews on here so I have no doubt that he gave very good service to many people here. For whatever reason, he gave me some of the worst service I have ever encountered. All I ever wanted was communication from this company and received virtually nothing in return. I like researching a company and then calling that company after I am comfortable with them. I don't like to call 10 different companies and get them to battle each other. I like making a decision and sticking to it. In this particular case, that strategy cost me a week without a dishwasher. Needless to say, I will not ever be calling this person again in the future. If he would have told me that he didn't have time, wasn't interested or just couldn't do the job at this time for whatever reason, I would have accepted that and moved on. Good luck to everyone that calls him. I hope they get better service than I did.

His name is Al Licons. he is really good. It was something with the compressor because it would freeze up. He came when he said he was going to be here. He checked the refrigerator, he needed to order the part, he ordered the part and came back when he said he was coming back. He said it would take an hour, it took an hour. It was perfect.

I left a message for Al and he called back first thing in the morning. Right be fore the time of the appointment he called to let me know that he would be there shortly. Because I had read the part number of the fridge incorrectly, he had to come back a second day with the correct part to do more diagnostics. Again, he called before the appointment time to make sure i was home. He explained everything to me thoroughly. The inverter box had burned out and it needed to be replaced. Also, the coils need a good cleaning. He showed me how to vacuum and clean them with a brush. Luckily the motherboard did not have to be replaced. He also made sure to leave his card and told me to call him if I have any questions.
Description of Work: Al repaired my GE Profile Fridge that had stopped working completely.

Al came out and told me what was wrong. He allowed me time to compare cost to purchasing new one. While we purchased this in the last couple years..warranty was done. He explained everything to me in detail and the chance that it could still burn out. It is still working great after he repaired it and he did an amazing job with clean up and all. Very honest, trustworthy, and saved to my "favorites" on Angie's List so I can call should other appliances have issues. BTW- always on time and efficient too!!!! Hard worker!!!

Excellent. Al was out the day after I called, and was right on time. He figured out the problem with our dryer very quickly, had the replacement part with him, and fixed our dryer without any problem. He also reconnected the vent hose which had fallen off some time ago. He was very professional and pleasant.

Contacted me ahead of time. Discussed the problems with the stove. He knew from my description what the problem was immediately. He ordered the part and brought it with him. Fast fix, works great saved us from purchasing a new stove which is what we thought we would need to do with this problem. I would use him again in a minute. Very well. Al got a little delayed because of wrong directions from the GPS. He was very neat and professional. He was able to perform a quick diagnosis on the cause of the malfunction. The repair/maintenance was very quick and clean. Al gave me tips on how to prevent this problem from recurring in the future.

I had tested some components which we reviewed and walked through the potential issues. We both agreed that it was very likely the control board ($180 part). Between the diagnostic visit, ordering the part (no repair company stocks $200 parts) and coming back to install it, we would have been out $300+. Al, to his financial detriment, recommended that we not spend that kind of money on a 10-year old machine and that we should buy a new one. This is not the first time that we've called Al. He has fixed this dishwasher once before (different issue) and gave us an education on how to prevent the issue in the future. Al fixed the ignitor on our stove. The first time we ever called him, he explained how to fix our clothes washer over the phone, saving us a lot of money right there. We will call Al every time we need help repairing our appliances.

I left Al a voice mail on 12-30; he called back on 12-31 (a holiday). I already had an appointment set up with another company, but I felt this was an appropriate amount of time to call me back, considering he's probably one of the busiest people on Angie's List. When I want a quick response I look for mid-popular companies with good ratings.

My freezer (top freezer, GE refrigerator) stopped working. I called Al and he peppered me with questions to try and assess the problem. We scheduled a time for service. Al called when he was on his way, which I so appreciate. He was able to diagnose the problem of a clogged drain backed up with ice, and took care of it. He installed a part to make certain it would not happen again. His job was made tougher because my building had just drained the stack of hot water. Al tried valiantly for a while to use the tepid water to thaw the ice dam, but eventually he heated a pot of water to get it done more quickly. This is the second time I've used his services. The other was for a builder grade dishwasher, which he also repaired quickly and efficiently. I called my old boyfriend's mother to get her recommendation for a repair shop. That woman squeezes nickels till they bleed and I knew that anybody she used would be do the work for a reasonable price. Al's work is also outstanding. I highly recommend Absolutely Guaranteed.

The very next morning after I called he came and was able to assess the problem quickly with my washing machine. ( A quarter broke the pump!) So he located a pump for my make and model and had it fixed within a 1/2 hour. He was prompt, friendly and priced reasonably. Left no mess and everything put back where it belonged before he left. I would highly recommend!

I would never use Al again. He doesn't care about you and is only looking at making money. He diagnoses from the phone and doesn't check everything. He only would come out and look at the dryer again if I paid him. I told him that he should guarantee his work. Really do you think I should keep paying him when what he fixes breaks down soon after he fixes it. That made me so mad that these two broke again. He knows that I was going to write up something on Angie's List. He seems to think that he has done nothing wrong. If he cared about his customers he would have come out and checked the motor on the dryer. But he said it probably is not the motor.
Description of Work: Al does not care about good customer service. I had a dryer that was not working. He put in a new motor. Within 2 months it stopped working again. I called Al and he said it is probably not the motor. One thing that Al does is diagnose over the phone. He thinks he always knows what's wrong before he comes out and looks at it. He said that it probably is something else and the part would cost $130 dollars plus $100 dollars labor. Why would I put in any more money in this dryer when their is no guarantee that it will work. Another issue I just had was our dishwasher stopped working. Again he diagnosed over the phone. He brought in a new part that cost $150 dollars plus $100 labor. Within 2 days it stopped working again. I told him I would just get a new one since the part he put in was not the problem. Of course he said for $130 dollars plus labor he could put in another part. He gave me the $150 dollars back for the part and removed it from the dishwasher. He gave us our old part back. Guess what our dishwasher is still working even after he put in the old part. Once again he doesn't know what he is talking about.

In case you do not wish to read all of this I will state early, late in our discussion I offered [removed member name] the option that I would come out as a favor to recheck the dryer no charge. I clearly explained there Is a 30 day labor warranty on repairs and a manufacturer warranty on the new parts installed (90 days in this case). I explained that her description of the current issue with her dryer does not sound like a motor issue, but it is not impossible. (Yes it is possibIe to form an educated diagnosis over the phone after 36 years of servicing appliances). I explained that if it were the motor due to 30 day labor warranty a new motor of would be free but there would be labor to install new motor. If it were not the motor I would need to charge for new issue. [removed member name] stated she did not want to put any more money into the dryer, and I should come out free of charge to replace motor she was sure I had misdiagnosed. How was I to work with that arrangement. A dryer that does nothing (current stated issue) is not the same as the first symptom [removed member name] called about. Issue was, (my dryer will not tumble and makes a humming noise when I try to start it). (It was a stuck motor as I suggested, and discovered, had new motor along, brought to her home, replaced motor with new, and dryer has been working for 2 months (according to [removed member name].) During this last phone discussion I would like to have been able to ask a few more questions about what was and was not operating on the dryer, such as does the timer still advance, if not that indicates no power to timer, not a motor issue. (possible thermal fuse issue, very common) [removed member name] had stated she was very upset already, she had been on a long trip and needed to go on another. Now her dryer was broken. (I sympathize) I needed to discuss technical workings of the dryer, and ask questions to determine potential problem. (her dryer was not working after 2 months and it of course must be my fault, not possibly the failure of another part.) Is that the real world of electrical mechanical devices. At this point I felt there was no way to reason on weather it might possibly be another issue, (surely can be. (possibilities, timer, thermal fuse, door switch, wiring, start switch, outlet, cord, all possibilities.) So I offered to come out as a favor, no charge, she refused and felt I was unfair in my business practice and would rather say so on Angies List than have me stick to my principles. I was accused of being an incompetent serviceman. (I am sorry it worked out this way. But it is an educational for all.) In regard to the dishwasher recently serviced. (Problem,) steady blinking light, no response to key presses. Very often for this model the issue is a defective electronic board, so I ordered one to have along. (By the way, my phone guesstimates are designed to save time and money, (yours, mine) if I have parts along no one is charged to go get, return and then install. I will not be changing that after all these successful years.) When I arrived I noticed the keypad was badly damaged, plastic sheet button faces cracked and peeling. This also can create same symptom. I was already there, I could have told [removed member name] she should have this keypad replaced too. I took a chance not liking to just replace a bunch of parts unless necessary. (also [removed member name] has been nice to work with, (if people insist nothing else can go wrong or they will be upset, you cannot take chances, you have to replace any worn parts related to the issue.) In my experience most often the board is issue and we are done. I tested dishwasher after installing new board, worked fine. 2 days later [removed member name] called said it was no longer working, same issue, blinking light. I mentioned keypad but she decided she would replace dish. I offered to remove part and refund the part cost, not labor because that was a basic charge anyway to come out and look at dish initially. No problem, [removed member name] was OK. I returned and decided to reinstall old board to let her try to use dish till she gets new. [removed member name] says it is working again. Great! Then the dryer fails a few days later. Compounded frustration! Trust and good communication are key to the very very rare occasion when this scenario happens. Service personnel and customers need to be fair to one another. Two way street. Beyond fair I offered to recheck dryer as a favor, no charge, just to keep the peace. [removed member name] refused. If you are trying to figure out what might have gone wrong, read some of the several hundred reports customers have made previously.

Al asked me right away what brand of washer we were talking about. Unfortunately, because my washer is a rare model, and foreign, he said he could not service it. Realizing I might need to buy a new washer, I asked Al for a recommendation. Even though Al does not know me and even though I was not going to use his service, he proceeded to tell me all about washers. It was like a lesson on the science of fibers and how washers work, etc. He talked about different types of washers, brands, etc I learned a lot from that conversation. I would recommend Al in a heartbeat. What a great guy. :)
Description of Work: Al promptly returned my call. Although he could not service the particular foreign model of washer I owned, he stayed on the phone with me answering my questions for quite a while.
