We liked the quality of product. It has held up pretty good. They showed up on time. They were professional. I will use them in the future.

Our project involved a complete exterior renovation of our rambler-style home. We sought a new roof, new siding, new soffits, fascia, and gutters. We met with no fewer than 6 contractors and ultimately received 9 bids/quotes. Three contractors offered what amounted to two quotes each. Our roofing needs were essentially wide-open. Siding was to be James Hardie and the soffits, fascia and gutters were to be aluminum or Hardie. Each contractor had a slightly different slant on this, that or the other thing. Some put on big productions that were unnecessary and wasted our time. Others just did not seem to want do what we wanted, but rather what they wanted to do. Above and Beyond, from our first contact, at the St. Paul Home and Patio Show, seemed to be a cut above the others (no pun intended). When we met with them in our home a few weeks later, to discuss details they showed why they are better. We were discussing the fascia ? Hardie vs. aluminum - and they indicated that they would do whatever we wanted but that putting Hardie up (at higher cost) then covering it up with gutters was not the best use of materials or our money. We elected to go with Above and Beyond and their partner (for the roof) Royal Restorations. The pricing was not the lowest nor was it the highest, all things considered. We now have a completed project. The roofing and siding are spectacular. The workmanship is outstanding. All of the fascia and the window wraps were custom measured, cut, and bent on site. When they did not work out they were pulled off and re-done (and there were few instances of this). They did many small tasks that were not required, but made the job that much better. They consulted us on suggested changes or improvements. When we pointed out things we thought were a bit off they were promptly corrected without complaint. We can never say enough good things about Above and Beyond and Royal Restorations. We would have them back into our house on a moment?s notice without reservation.

It took us about six months to make the final decision. An energy tax credit was the final motivator. While quality windows are not inexensive and this was a major leap for us financially, we didn't want to miss this opportunity. We got 3 bids from contractors rated 'A' on Angies List. All 3 representatives were very professional and all 3 had very high quality windows, but the quality of these windows was a clear step up from the best of the rest. It doesn't seem possible, but it is. We ordered the windows and it took 3-4 months before they came in. They were installed February 4th and 5th 2010. The install time was the mornig after a big snowstorm and another storm was coming in 48 hours. Considering the sloppy conditions outside, the crew did the best they could to keep the area clean. Obviously, it would have been easier to keep clean if it was dry outside. Arlo, owner of Above and Beyond is a licensed contractor, but it is interesting to note that the two man crew that did the install were each licenesd contractors. Impressive. They got all the windows installed in 2 long days of work, and the windows are very impressive. I would definately use them again and would consider them when it is time to replace our doors.

The only thing negative about them was the communication with the salesman, so, I have started actually dealing directly with the owner. The workmanship was excellent and the prices were also very reasonable. They were here when they said they were going to be here. I like the owner and the installer. The installers were very professional.

We are 3-peat customers with this company - see 10/09/06 report about windows. As in the past, Josh and Arlo (the salesmen), and Pete (the installer) met and exceeded expectations. The lead time on ordering was explained and was met to our satisfaction. Pete arrived at the agreed upon time and the install went smoothly, even after discovering a previous owners handyman quick fixes when the old slider was removed ( no insulation, no caulking, water damage). The same statement applies to the entry door installs, including the handyman problems. Pete took care of these problems both times and at no additional charge. UPDATE: 10/5/2013 Doors and patio slider(all Fibertec) have performed as promised with no problems. Have checked for any further water problems and have found none. An energy audit was performed recently and door and slider areas looked very good.

The project was very short and sweet. My wife called them to get an estimate and set up an appointment. They came out when they told me they were going too. They did the floors and were done when they said they were going to be. The one thing that really stood out to me was the day of the project, I asked them how much it would be to do the stairs. It was too much to do both the treads and the risers, so I was going to have them just do the treads and he was willing to negotiate a price to have both done. They added the stairs to their workload and the project still did not take any longer than they estimated.

One of the problem areas was the front door, which had a noticeable draft. They helped us choose a replacement that looks very good as people come up to the house. So they gave good advice on that. We started the project 4-5 years ago, and we will finish up soon. The heating bill has gone down significantly, and we are pleased with the work. They've offered good advice on work in the past and they've always been good about scheduling the work.

I was going to buy from them, until the day they came out and started changing their story. Originally, they told me they only sell one window. Then the day they came out here, they started saying they had this new window coming in that was better than the ones they'd quoted me on. It seemed like they were trying to get more money, and that just blew me away. I'm a pretty careful shopper, and I liked what they had to say, but when they came back and started changing the story that was very unprofessional. I wouldn't use them in the future.

This was the first time I had used their services. They did the job in half the time than projected and cleaned up the yard after. They worked together well as a team. When we had some concerns about caulking, but they took care of it.

Their workmanship was great and the men that came out were very professional.

After doing exhaustive research on windows we chose Accurate Dorwin made in Winnipeg. Josh Rosen and Arlo Cook were simply, "refreshingly" awesome sales persons. Before buying, we contacted Accurate Dorwin directly to "check out the windows and their regional distributor - Above and Beyond - A+. Josh and Arlo stick to the "Facts" and presented a no-pressure sales approach. They suggested installing (3) bay windows which has proven to be a great decision as it also enhanced the character of our house. We did have to wait a few extra weeks for the windows to arrive and install but it has been well worth it. Our house is much more energy efficient and much more quiet. There were some minor installation issues (siding replacement and inside trim) but they were quickly resolved by their ace installer member of their team, Pete. Please note it is sometimes difficult to make inside trim to look the way it did on original windows. Sometimes jam extensions are required on certain windows because house frames change on older homes. Understanding this upfront would have helped. Over the past 2 years we have purchased a door and additional windows as we continue to be impressed with the quality of the material and frankly the quality of the Above and Beyond team. Arlo, Josh and Pete know quality windows and do quality work and it has been a pleasure doing business with them.

Arlo and Josh both came out for the initial appraisal in March and were very thorough and helpful. We were quoted a 10-14 week delivery after initial payment in April. Pete and the crew came out in late August which was a little on the slow side but once they got here they were able to finish the job in two days. Pete answered all of my rookie questions about staining which we did ourselves. They added a lot of insulation around the windows as well. They cleaned up afterwards very thoroughly and were overall very professional. We were happy enough with them to order a front door installation later.

The job ended up taking way longer than expected. We knew it would take 4-6 weeks since they were custom ordered windows. At 10 weeks we called and the company that built the windows had lost the order. When they arrived it was winter and I told them to wait until spring to install them. When spring came around they did the install and one window was the wrong size. They had double ordered a small bathroom window and a larger living room window had not been ordered. So they ordered the living room window and it was another 4-6 weeks. So 13 months later all the windows were installed and we are happy with them. Pete, the main installer, is an excellent technician and did a very good job. I feel that the problems were a one time occurrence and I seriously doubt anyone else would have the same time delays I did.

Alan quickly responded to our request for an estimated bid and to discuss siding options. We then met with company owners, Arlo and Josh to finalize our selection and discuss their bid response. Arlo and Josh have a very relaxed approach to doing business. This was far different than their competitor, who presented us with a very detailed bid response. Arlo and Josh assured us that they would do an excellent job for us. Their bid was significantly lower than their competitor, and one we couldn t ignore. The project leader was on site almost daily to inspect the installation and ensure we were totally satisfied with the work being performed. He had outstanding attention to detail. The crew was very professional and addressed any concerns we had during the process. Overall, the process went very smoothly. This company is all about total customer satisfaction . Their job wasn t done unless we were totally satisfied. You won t go wrong using this company.

Arlo and Josh came out to do the measuring. They had replaced windows for me before so I already knew that I wanted them to do the work. Pete installed the windows on schedule and did an excellent job. These windows have a wood veneer applied to the interior surfaces so they can be stained to match my 1928 dark woodwork. I have not yet done the staining but I visited another customer and couldn't believe how beautiful the windows looked. You would never have known that they weren't wood windows (except from the outside). These windows are so tight and heavy; excellent quality. I think I'm one of their prime references because I think they are so great.

The windows have a lifetime warranty on them. The 2 fellows spent extra time going through the windows. We met them at at the Green Expo where we actually got to see the windows first. They offered many types on windows and were very knowledgeable. They wanted to give us the best type of viewing space. High quality windows. The crew that came was excellent. They were just fabulous. They were in and out in about 2 1/2 days.

First saw these windows at the Spring Home & Garden show in Mpls. Josh and Arlo did a very good job of explaining the advantages of these energy-efficient fiberglass framed, triple pane windows. While the lead time for ordering was long (12 weeks), the wait was well worth it. They were able to accommodate my wife's request, for diamond grids on the windows, which added to the lead time. A call to Pete, the installation crew leader, setup a time to begin work. The crew arrived on time, was knowledgeable and efficient, cleaned up inside and out, and was done in 2.5 days, instead of the estimated 3-5 days. UPDATE: 10/2013 Have not had any problems with these windows since installation. They have switched to another window/door company, but it is still of very high quality. Will recommend Arlo and Josh for any type of work that they offer and will use them in the future.

WINDOWS ORIGINALLY WANTED DID NOT LOOK AS GOOD AS ONES SHOWN LATER. DOUBLE HUNG, TRIPLE PANE, FIBERGLAS WINDOWS ARE NEW. WINDOWS INSTALLED ARE FIBERTECH. INSTALLATION PEOPLE DID A GOOD JOB. ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THE CAULKING. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT TOOL THE CAULK. THERE ARE REASONS, BUT YOU MAY NOT LIKE THE LOOK. FOLLOW UP ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE POST INSTALL ADJUSTMENTS WAS TOO SLOW. PEOPLE INSTALLING WINDOWS ALSO DO THE POST FOLLOW-UP. BUT THE FOLLOW-UP WORK WAS GREAT. THE HEAD TECHNICAL PERSON REALLY KNOWS WINDOWS. I WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.

ARLO AND JOSH (THE PRINCIPALS AT ABOVE & BEYOND) AND PETE, THEIR INSTALLER, ARE CLEARLY PASSIONATE ABOUT USING HIGH QUALITY WINDOWS (ACCURATE DORWIN FIBERGLASS FROM CANADA) AND DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB. I HAVE HAD WATER DAMAGE AROUND MY WINDOWS FOR YEARS AND HAVE HAD VINYL REPLACEMENTS PUT IN A FEW IN THE PAST. NO ONE EVER REALLY ADDRESSED THE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE AND JUST PUT NEW ALUMINUM WRAP OVER THE ROTTED WOOD (I DIDN'T KNOW THAT UNTIL I WATCHED PETE). BECAUSE THESE ARE NEW CONSTRUCTION WINDOWS, EVERYTHING WAS REMOVED OUT TO THE RAW OPENING AND BEYOND. PETE WENT AS FAR AS HE HAD TO UNTIL HE FOUND UNDAMAGED WOOD. THE WINDOWS ARE VERY SOLID, THERE IS NO AIR LEAKAGE ANYWHERE AROUND THEM. AFTER SEEING THE WORK QUALITY WITH THE FIRST 8 WINDOWS,I EVEN RE-REPLACED 2 VINYL WINDOWS THAT WERE ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD BECAUSE I KNEW WHAT WAS HIDING UNDER THE ALUMINUM. BOTH PETE AND ARLO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS ANAL - THAT'S A GOOD THING WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR RELIABLE CONTRACTORS.
