Great Garage Door Company

I called for help and was saved a service trip by a service tech. talking me through the problem for no charge. I at least owe them this report.

They were very prompt. There were no scheduling problems. We picked a time, they came out on time. The guy had the supplies with him to fix the spring. He gave me the heavier gauge spring instead of the standard ones. He also went over some routine maintenance. Either the guy was well experienced and could tell by looking at the door the size of springs to use or he did it based on the current springs. The door is working flawlessly.

Overall the project was completed very well and in a timely manner.

Called Monday morning to schedule an afternoon appointment. They said they were available in the morning that same day for sometime between 10:00-12:00 pm. The technician arrived at 12:40 pm. I was a bit disappointed with the arrival time, since I had to cancel a morning meeting to be at home. However, it was easy to schedule a quick appointment for the same day. Work was completed in less than 30 minutes. Garage door is working good. The phone estimate was precise and exactly what we were charged. They were also able to give me an estimate for replacing the cable, if we needed that too.

Requested an estimate on line and they were prompt at calling me back. Received estimates from two other reputable door companies, but Great Garage Doors sent a rep who finally gave me straightforward answers to my questions, and actually steered me away from pricier openers, as they didn't fit my needs and would just end up wasting more of my hard-earned money. The Liftmaster opener was the exact same model as offered by the other companies, but at a substantial discount. The double-sided steel insulated door was identical as the other companies, yet again, the price was substantially less. The company called me the morning of the install and just had me leave my service door unlocked (detached garage). The technician (Dan) showed up while I was at work, installed everything and then called me while he had about 15 minutes of installs left to do. This gave me time to drive home from work, inspect his installation, pay him and have him show me how to program the remotes. Everything was as smooth as can be. The opener is a workhorse. The door is super-sturdy and looks fantastic. The trim work, complete with weather seals and strips, seals my garage door tight as a drum.

Both on the phone and in person they were professional, pleasant and efficient. I would certainly use them again and recommend them.

The Great Garage Door Company came out and installed a 2 car garage doors and a single car garage door for about $1200, which was the best price I have seen for this. They were on time and only took about 4 hours total for both doors. They reattached the opener for me for only $15. The garage doors are great, super quiet and they look great. Would highly recommend.

The process was smooth from start to finish. I called and explained that I wanted an additional remote for entry and after discussing different options with them I decided to just buy a new motor overall, get 3 remotes, a keypad and the emergency release. They showed up on time, installed it all quickly, hauled away the old motor and showed me how to use it all.

The gentleman came out and did a very good estimate. Gave us lots of information. Explained garage door opener was older but up to code and we were able to keep it. They came when they said they would and replaced everything. The only negative is the fact that they don't give you exact times, they call you the morning of the appointment and tell you when they'll be there. Other than that they were marvelous. The garage door started making a funny noise, so I called and they called me back on Monday. They set a time up and the gentlemen came out and explained what the noises were. The problem was with the garage door opener and at no time did he try to sell me a new one. He gave me prices for new garage doors opener at my request. Their price was lower than everyone else's as well.

Loved this company! Called in the morning and they were able to fix the door by early afternoon. He was able to diagnose the problem and give me an accurate estimate over the phone. Gear kit replacement was $129.00. Bob, the technician was very friendly. He also was able to find a garage door opener for my late model garage door. That cost was $31.90. Overall, a great experience!

I contacted the company and was able to set up an appointment within a few days. (Garage door broke on Saturday, had appointment Monday afternoon). The estimator was on time and provided low key sales information on the best option. The new door was installed the next day due to an opening in the schedule and it was installed in a few hours. The job was done right, on time, at cost promised. I would recommend the company to others (in fact I already have).

I called on a Monday afternoon. Alan came by on Tuesday @ 11:30 as scheduled and on time, despite the snow we were receiving that day. He took measurements and discussed the door models with me. Provided me with warranty information and an estimate. He scheduled my installation for Thursday. Dave came on time installed door and cleaned up after himself. He explained a few things to me about my door and my opener. Both men were very professional and pleasant. The door looks great!

The guy doing the work was very meticulous and spent a lot of time fine tuning the balance. At one point he felt the spring he put in was too small for the job and put in a larger one.

I called the company on a Wednesday and spoke to Rob, the salesman, who came out on Thursday morning to give me an estimate. The price was about what I was expecting, so I picked out the door I wanted. It was installed on Friday, the following week. Jake was the installer who came out and less than 3 hours later the job was done. The door looks great and my husband said we should have had the old one replaced 10 years ago!

Received preliminary estimate via phone. Alan stopped by at my request (after I'd received other higher estimates.) He was punctual and informative. Final prices matched phone estimate exactly. Work was scheduled a week out (at my request.) Installer showed up on time and completed the work within a few hours.

They were great, called on a Thursday to set up estimate and salesman met me the following Tuesday per my request. He was very helpful, didn't try to pressure me into anything. The door and opener was installed two days later. Installer was right on time, did work quickly, cleaned up perfectly after. Thought this was a great price for door, opener, two remotes, wall button and keypad. Would definitely use them again.

This was a very good experience and I am pleased with the company and the work. We had met the sales rep at a local Home Improvement show sponsored by our city, North St. Paul. We made an appt for an estimate on a Tuesday. He was on time, friendly, and was able to get us on the schedule for that Friday since this was a day that I was already taking off from work to get some home projects done. As promised, the installer called before 7:30 am on Friday and told us when he was coming. He arrived on time, did a great job, and cleaned up the work area well (a personal pet peeve of mine). The final price was exactly what the sales rep quoted. No surprises! I would fully recommend this company to others.

Very good. They completed the job per contract at the agreed time for a competitive price.

Great experience. Called at 8:00 am to schedule service based on Angie's List information and coupon in Magazine. Dennis took my call and verified price. Said he would call me back with available time to install. Ten minutes later he called and said an installer would be available between 9 and 11 today. Installer arrived and work was done in about a half hour. From initial call to finish, 2.5 hours. It doesn't get any better than that.

They were prompt at returning calls and came exactly when promised. Rob the salesperson was very good at not trying to sell us more door than we needed. They were the lowest price, for that reason. Bob, the installer, was efficient and polite. I highly recommend the company.

Found this company through Angie's list and were very happy we did. We talked to Dennis Rediske and he was great. No pressure from him and he explained everything and answered all our questions. We ordered a insulated double steel door and opener with a keyless entry. They were installed within two weeks and the installer did a great job. Great company to work with--very satisfied with everything.

Talked with Alan and he was very informative. He showed up on time, friendly, no high-pressure sales. I felt good with price, and product. They had color close to what my siding is (currently being repainted). Install went well. Following week my painter mentioned that the doorstop was a different color then the door itself. I called Alan. The office tried to help me. I mentioned the difference in color. They said that in their showroom under fluorescent lights he couldn't tell a difference in the two parts. He mentioned that under different light (sunlight) I might be able to see a difference. Yes, there is a difference! He mentioned that they have gotten other complaints about matching of colors. After talking with him, Alan did give me a call. (Not the quickest to respond to voice mail). He offered to replace the doorstop with something that would match the door. No Thanks. (Why wasn't it matching the door in the first place?). Check colors of all parts used.

My sales rep was excellent, very close estimate to the over the phone ball park, very up front about pricing and options (final price was lower than quote.) Installer was on time, fast and friendly. A second service rep came out to double check work and get feedback. Excellent overall job.

They put it in just like we wanted. They are prompt. They do the job like it should be done.

I had an ancient garage door and called for several estimates to replace it. This company was easy to reach, called back promptly, and explained very clearly what needed to be done and why. It involved some extra things such as framing the door opening lower to allow space for the tracks, etc. The person who did the work was prompt, made sure I knew exactly what he was doing, and left no mess. Everything works fine.
