A big thank you to Tony for fixing my garage door. He arrived as expected, was efficient, explained what he did and was truly nice to work with. I have already referred someone to Great Garage Door Co. and I will be a return customer if I need their services again.

I needed new weatherstripping and vertical tracks for my single garage door. I was sure I would need to have the bottom panel replaced too, due to rust. When Brian, (the awesome technician) arrived, he listened to my concerns and then offered his advice. Brian told me the rust on the bottom panel was minimal and the panel did not need to be replaced. Brian proceeded to explain to me exactly what I needed to purchase to remove the rust and paint the panel. Brian saved me A LOT of money. He could have easily sold me something I didn’t need. Brian treated me the way he would want to be treated, with respect. I cannot thank Brian enough for his honesty, helpfulness and integrity. It’s so nice to know there are companies that value integrity over profits. It’s no surprise they have been in business for 37 years!! I highly recommend GGD!!

I had a garage spring break on my home garage door. I called Great Garage Door Company, and they picked up right away and got Service scheduled promptly for the next day. Our tech Will come out and did a great job and got us up and running on time and as scheduled. I also recently used Great Garage Door Company to replace four single car garage doors at one of our apartment buildings. They provide a great value and timely and professional service. I highly recommend them.

The phone rep was courteous and prompt. We were able to get it done the same day and, while we had the tech here, we also got the cables replaced (saving a second trip in the future). The tech was cheerful, courteous and professional. Our price included both springs and cables.

The new insulated garage door is awesome. Much nicer and quieter than the janky door I had. The technician was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I'll definitely recommend Great Garage Door Co to my friends, family, and even my local Facebook neighbors group! Thank you!

I'd give them an "A" for overall service and an "A" down the line. I would also use them again.

The door itself was good. And the service was performed in a timely manner. And the pricing was very competitive. The reason for my lower rating is communication and clarity of information parted with. I had to call at least 4-6 times before I was able to get hold of my point if contact. They wouldn't follow up with answers on the questions I had. Also I didn't ask about a motion sensor on my opener before installation because i am not a garage door expert. And when i called to have one later they wanted to charge be a 100$ service charge. But feel like if I am the expert it would be my responsibility to make sure my customer knows all of their possibilities and makes informed decision. If it were my business I would wave the service charge because i failed to let the customer know of their choices and just charge for the button itself. in short my advice if you decided to go with them is to do your own research. I had to go find my own sample etc.

Talked to the salesperson at the State Fair and when I explained the situation and he asked where we lived (Andover), his immediate response was "oh was it a turkey fryer fire". Actually was a lightning strike that was a serious event. Totally unprofessional approach. We won't be back.

I originally called on a Sunday and they were closed. However, to my surprise I got a call back from a scheduler (on that same Sunday) who was able to quote me a price over the phone, describe the exact type of opener and some of the features and set up an appointment for someone to come out to my house to replace it the next day. The process was seamless, professional, and the service person Mike, was a great guy and was in and out in very short time and knew what he was doing. Everything is working perfectly. Highly recommend Great Garage Door!

No nonsense with these guys. I've had other providers try to sell me upgraded springs at inflated prices. These guys sell one spring and have a flat rate of $209 as of 5/24/17.

I had this problem at 7a.m., called by 7:30. I became the first appointment and the job was done before 10a.m.

Very prompt service. Took about 15-20 minutes to replace both springs. Is $219.00 overpriced? Wish I would have checked more places for pricing. Called late afternoon and replaced early next morning. Really appreciated that.

We found this company at the MN State Fair and decided to move forward. The experience working with this company was really frustrating from the beginning to end. The salesperson forgot to add the cost for the garage windows to the initial order, so we had to meet with him a second time to resign. He also forgot to add garage hardware to the order, so they needed to order the product and come back again to install. My wife stayed home waiting for them to arrive for the second install and we didn't receive a call. Suddenly the install technician called late afternoon and said "Ok, I just installed the garage hardware." and he asked us to pay $50 for it over the phone. We looked outside while on the phone with the technician and no garage hardware was on the door. We asked if he as at the correct house and turns out he accidentally installed it on our neighbors house, two homes up the street! The technician used some profanity on the phone, mentioned he didn't have anymore hardware in the truck and hung up. Later that night I drove to my neighbors house to explain the mistake and gave him the Great Garage Door business card and phone number. The technician did not leave any information at the time of install on our neighbors advising them of the mistake, he just left the neighborhood and was not accountable. I called the next day to explain the situation and ask them what would happen next. They scheduled another installation for the next day and then CANCELLED on the day of due to an emergency! The company mentioned they could be out next Monday or Tuesday and at this point, after having to be home three times just to put on cheap hardware, I said they should install this for free and waive the $50 fee. They said we'll get back to you on that request and we never received a follow up call. I left a voice message for Steve, the owner of the company. I wanted to explain our experience and see if they could complete the project. Steve passed the message to a Service Manager named Dwight. I spoke to Dwight and explained our experience and again asked that they wave the $50 hardware fee with all of the inconveniences we faced. He told me they wouldn't waive the $50 and accused me of just wanting something for free!!!! At this point, I decided not to have their technician install the equipment and asked that they just mail the parts instead. It was time to fire the company and move on. Dwight ended up waiving the $50. It was hard to believe all the steps and trouble we went through for a $1500 garage door! I feel that we treated everyone fairly and with grace, despite the poor service received from their staff. I called the MN State Fair to provide feedback on our experience, should they review vendors for future contracts. I certainly wouldn't want anyone in my network to select this company.

No hitches at all. Everything done well and on time. Absolutely no problems or unpleasant surprises.

Called one day, was replaced the next. Great prompt service, installer gave me tips on what to do for maintenance.

Major ethical and legal concerns. We chose them based on all the positive ratings, so was shocked when we learned that there installation was not going to meet code. We asked about how they were going to power the openers (as in old garage homes there are no ceiling outlets). They said they were going to use a long extension code. We thought that was odd and talked to the city and found that is against code. Rob - the salesman at Great Garage Door suggested he has an extension cord for his own garage opener at home and that no one would check. Red flag! Any company that suggests an illegal installation to me crosses the ethical line of what they would put in that could cause safety issues or fines. They were very courteous, friendly and responsive - but any business that crosses that legal line is too hard for me to trust or give business to. Just not worth it.

From the moment they answered my phone call to fixing the problem, they were very professional and polite. Seven years ago, they installed the garage door opener. I was still in their system; however, I have not been plagued by advertisements (greatly appreciate that). Very polite and professional customer service. They were able to come out the day I called. I explained the problem, they gave me a rough estimate and good guess of what the problem could be. They gave me a two hour window (not a problem). A service man arrived, very sorry, I forgot his name. He was polite, professional, and quick. He quickly assessed the problem, explained to me what the problem was, and was able to quickly fix it. He also noticed a light bulb was burnt out; at no extra charge, I provide the light bulb, he replaced it. It was 50.00 less than originally thought, because the gears were not the problem.

Excellent customer service. Any problems were addressed immediately. Would definitely use Great Garage Door Co. again. I happened to call the Burnsville number of 952-895-7300 and worked with Mike Adkins.
