Bill and crew were awesome to work with. They were prompt, pricing was competitive, very professional, respectful, did amazing work and cleaned-up when they were done. Communication was very good. We were made aware of when scaffolding would be put up and taken down. Filled in where an insulation company make holes to blow in instulation, patched where a window was moved and where two vents were removed. You can no longer tell where patch work was done because they did such a great job. The work they did is so beautiful and well done. Not only have our neighbors complimented on how amazing our home looks, but complete strangers have also complimented. We feel they were patient when helping us pick the color of the final coat, did amazing quality of work, and were so good to work with us. I HIGHLY recommend McClennan Exteriors. If we're ever in need of Stucco work again, Bill is definiately who I would call!

I called Bill and had him come to give me an estimate on repairing cracks in the stucco on the outside of the house. He showed up when he said and explained everything very clear. In some areas he wasn't sure if it would have to be taken all the way down or if it could just be patched, he would know more once he got started. He was very clear with the estimate, giving me the additional dollar amount to add if he did need to tear out more depending what he found once opened. He also noticed that in the corner where two roof lines meet, the water was dripping down causing it to constantly hit the upper portion of the window which was leading to a huge crack and pushing out the stucco. He offered to fix the area on the roof by just adding a small metal diverted that would lead the water directly to the rain gutter. He also installed a leaf cover over the same gutter, as that was the only one on our whole house that didn't have one. Bill was excellent, timely, and very professional. He even fixed an area that I forgot to mention in the original bid. Even after they were all cleaned up and just about to get in their trucks and leave. That is great service! I would definitely hire him again.

Bill McClellan was one of three bidders, all of them well recommended and straightforward. It was a close call, but I chose McClellan because he volunteered three options for how to treat my foundation blocks, which I had not thought to ask about. I contracted separately with a sandblasting firm to have the house sandblasted. McClellan coordinated with the sandblasters and put up the scaffolding for both purposes. The job was done quickly and well. The combination of scaffolding and sandblasting was quite destructive to the ground cover on part of our landscape; I don't think this could have been avoided. Re-stuccoing is an expensive proposition (the sandblasting added another $2600), but it has psychological rewards, because the house ends up looking so much better.
Description of Work: Repaired loose stucco around a window, repaired a crack between the original house and an addition with an expansion bead, and re-dashed entire house with two coats of stucco.

I went on Angie's List after too many bad experiences with contractors. I have a 93 year old house and take on a few updating/maintenance projects a year. I couldn't be happier - I had a great experience with McClellan Exteriors. This was my first work awarded via Angie's list and it was a huge success. Bill McClellan was very prompt in responding back to my inquiry. He had an estimate in my hand within two days. He waited patiently as I collected other bids (from Angie's list contractors as well) and made a decision. McClellan had the best price and also had great reviews on Angie's list - there was really no reason to go with anyone else. Bill McClellan was patient about waiting for a start date as I was waiting for another contractor to finish up some work not completed on their job from last year. Bill was good about scheduling the start date according to my needs. They did start a day later than originally scheduled, but there was a lot of rain in the preceding weeks and the crew fell behind on another job. Bill advised this might happen when we discussed the start date, so it wasn't a big deal - and it was only one day, with the amount of rain days, I was surprised they were so close to being on schedule.Repair and patching work was done in a few days, as was the redashing that took place a few weeks later. In both time frames, clean up was good and there was very little disruption to the rest of the house and yard. The neighbors even commented on quick and efficiently it seemed to be done. The house looks great, and as Bill McClellan stated, the stucco is getting darker as it ages (wI was a little nervous that it was too light the day it was "finished" but Bill assured me that it gets darker - and it does). Although the color is not dramatically different from the previous finish - almost every neighbor has commented on how clean and "finished" the house looks.Best price or not (in this case, I was very lucky it was), I would recommend McClellan Exteriors to perform stucco work - and I would hire them again if needed.
Description of Work: I contracted to have stucco patched and repaired where two wall air conditioners were removed, as well as an area around a door. The McClellan team also did some small patching on other parts of the house that needed to be repaired -at no additional cost - because they wanted to do a quality job. A few weeks later - after the new patches had cured, the entire hose was redashed, as was the garage. Patching took about two days to complete. Re-dashing took another two to three days. Great "Clean-up" after both segments of the work.

I had a big window air conditioner removed from a dining room wall and it was patched with fiberboard last fall, but not stuccoed. I called Mr. McClellan, and he came out and looked at the area, and called me with an estimate of what needed to be done. I accepted his offer, and he was out to start the process within a day. He was back within a day or two after the original layer dried, and did the final coat. His finished work is the best kind - not noticeable from the rest of the original stucco. Great quality, great service. I would use him again in a heartbeat!

Our home is stucco and has white stucco trim. The trim had become dirty-looking over time. Bill McClellan came out promtly when we asked for an estimate. He gave us two different options for addressing the situation, carefully explaining the pros and cons of each. The options were different in price, but he didn't push us toward one or the other. We chose acrylic painting of the trim rather than a new finish. Bill came promptly, worked quick and cleanly, asked us to look over his work after it dried, and came back to fix the very small items we asked him to rework. Our experience working with him was very good, and we would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Bill McClellan and his crew were exceptionally easy to work with, and they did an outstanding job on our house. We had three estimates for this project, two in this price range and one considerably higher. Bill came out to do the original estimate, and provided the detail we needed to ensure we were making an appropriate cost comparison with the other contractors. He kept in touch with us on scheduling the various stages of the project (which, of course, is somewhat weather-dependent), and he and his crew (including the sub-contractors who did the sandblasting) did a great clean-up. We're very pleased, and are very happy to recommend the company.

fabulous. Bill met with me and walked around the house discussing how to make the house look less "tired and stained". He pointed out a couple of options 1)power wash which would help, but not make it look new 2)re-stucco house 3)paint with special stucco acrylic paint. After reviewing the options we decided to go with the painting. Although Bill's crew only works with stucco, he also set up another company to paint the trim for us and left his scaffolding up for the next crew to use to make their job easier. He timed his project perfectly between the landscape crew and the carpet installation. He was very punctual with his meetings, kept in contact and would pop by to make sure that everything went according to plan. His crew did a lovely job, masking and taping areas to make sure there weren't paint drips all over. The very minor little things I would point out to his crew during the painting process were quickly & efficiently dealt with. We are extremely happy with our result and with the job Mcclellan did for us.

Bill is friendly, very knowledgeable, and sharp. He knows the stucco business well. I had contacted 3 stucco companies and through reference checking and site visits selected two for final bids. I selected Bill based on final price. He and his crew arrived on time, and showed up when they said they would. The were very professional. I had a couple of areas that I needed taken care of, and they were more than happy to take care of them for me. They worked well with the other subs. The best part was seeing the finished product! They color matched the siding on our garage almost exactly!! I found out that Bill is one of the best color guys in the industry and it came through on our project. McClellan Stucco is one company I would pay more for. Their work is what made our project look great and I do believe you get what you pay for. I highly recommend him!

After I left a message, Bill McClellan called me back a few hours later. We discussed the project and he promised to send someone over to measure so he could prepare an estimate. I gave him my email address for his response. Shortly, I noted that his employee had arrived to measure and examine the house and garage. A few days later, Bill sent an estimate by email. What impressed me the most was that he was out of town while getting this done. While another Angie's List award winning company had a slightly lower bid and we felt comfortable going with them, I would have been just as happy to hire McClellan for our job.

Excellent. Very easy to work with. Conscientious of neighbors. My rating of B on price was due to original estimate and final estimate differed in price by $2-3K. I was still quite satisfied with the work and appreciated McClellan's flexibility on payment (dividing work into phases) for easier budgeting.

Bill came out and gave us an estimate to repair 2 major cracks in the stucco at our 1930s home, remodeled with an addition in the late 70s/early80s. The remodel had matched stucco but cracks had formed on both sides of the house. Bill's estimate was the cheapest and based on that and the comments already on Angie's list we decided to go with him to do the repairs. Bill came out and did the work in a day, he also repaired many other cracks and various items on the exterior of the house. Bill did his best to match the stucco, and I can barely see most of the small areas that he reapired - he did a very good job of matching.

We had several estimates done. I went to Angie's list and sorted the stucco contractors in the area by rating. There weren't a lot of reviews, but there were enough. I emailed five of them and ended up with 4 estimates. We picked them because they were prompt with the estimate and the price was the lowest. They proposed patching, sandblasting and redashing. Shortly after the contract was signed, the patching crew came through. The dealt with the big stuff but missed some smaller cracks, not a big issue. The sandblasting took place 4-5 weeks before re-dashing. In the interim, we had the trim painted by a paint company. The sandblasters - a subcontractor - left a big mess, but seemed to do the job. When the stucco crew came, they were polite and set about doing their work. They set up the scaffolding one day and finished the stucco work over the next two days. The work seems to be generally good, but there a few issues left outstanding. Only half the basement window wells were stuccoed. Some, but not all, surfaces that had been remodeled years agom and where a different base stucco was used, are a different shade. Some of new paint on the trim was removed when they removed their tape. The company has not come out to look at the house and has told me that it will all blend in later due to the stucco curing process. It has promised to fix it after a "season" has passed if it's still a problem. It said it only did the bottom of the windows wells that were already stuccoed, ignoring the ones that had been repaired over the years. We're not satisfied. We wonder how, if the same amount of material was deposited everywhere, some of the remodeled areas look fine and others do not. The window wells are incomplete and we plan to repaint the trim ourselves. All in all, the work so far gets a C and the customer support is lower than that. We can't recommend them until we gain the confidence that the final work will be done properly. So we will come back to Angie's list after a "season" and modify this review. In the meantime, our house looks a bit odd if you look at it closely.

Bill Mcclellan is professional and knowledgeable, trustworthy. Unfortunately someone else gave a bid that was about 4K less than his bid, so we went with another company. When an issue came up on the actual job, however, I called Bill for a second opinion. I doubted that he would actually return my call since I had decided to go with someone else and was amazed that he called me back right away. He gave me more information about what is possible with a re-dash job, and what isn't, then told me that the person doing my job had good skills and could be trusted on it. I was really really impressed with his integrity, since he could have easily been snotty about the whole situation.

Bill McClellan and his team were knowledgeable and dependable. Bill was easy to reach and he responded promply to all of my questions and concerns and helped me to understand the process. The team started and finished the job on the promised schedule and did a great job of working with me to get just the right custom color. They were careful about the landscaping and covered the wood trim so that no paint or windows were damaged. They were very tidy and cleaned up thoroughly when they were finished. It was a very pleasant crew and a pretty painless experience! The house looks great.

The work went very well. Bill was quick to respond with a quote. He started the work promptly by removing the loose stucco and opening up the cracks, replacing tar paper and mesh where needed, and applying a new cement underlayer. About 2 weeks later, he applied the stucco overcoat in the appropriate color. It is too early to tell how well it will match.

This job was done three years ago. The original done was fine. There is quite a bit of cracking. I don't know if it is from the sun or the actual job. They have not returned my phone call yet. I decided to wait until next spring so the house would not be torn up. The estimate was reasonable and their explanations made sense. They made sure that we laid a good foundation for them to do their work on instead of covering old problems. They called me back a few days later and gave me the name of a carpenter. It went well. The representitive gave a fair estimate.
Description of Work: I wanted some stucco work done. When he came out he said that I needed a carpenter to fix some of the wood before he could complete the stucco. They quickly determined that there was some wood rot on the stucco. I checked later and the wood was rotted out.
