Purchased Big Deal Furnace Clean and Tune-Up for $49 because the HVAC provider I contracted last fall (and had used before) told me my furnace was beginning to crack (showed me hairline cracks on a camera) and this winter would be its last season. I wanted a second opinion. I'm not knowledgable in these things, so I can't tell who is thorough. John seemed to know what he was doing and told me my furnace was fine. He suggested I replace the high end filter I was currently using with a less efficient one because he said the extra work the furnace was doing was generating heat. The paperwork/checklist says he went through the complete furnace operation and he did not test the old attached humidifier. It also says this deal was worth $130. John was professional and cleaned up. I believe he also vacuumed the furnace.

Everything went well and they entirely met my expectations.

Came early after calling to ask if this was okay. Work was done quickly. Had a couple questions and they were answered to my satisfaction.

I wasn't home - but my mom did see them come out. The A/C works fine, however. When I called to set up an appointment, they were able to come out right away.

Our furnace completely stopped working on a Sunday morning. It was probably -10 outside, or something equally terrible during this endless winter/polar vortex of 2014. We knew there was no way we could make it to Monday without the pipes freezing since it was already down to probably 50 degrees in the house. We'd worked with High Road before for air conditioner repairs, so when we saw they offered emergency weekend service, we called them. They were able to get out to our house withing 20-30 minutes of our call, and they even managed to find the location of our house on the first try, even though a lot of people have difficulty with that. They were extremely professional, and the technician went right to work. He diagnosed the issue as a dirty/corroded flame sensor, and he cleaned it up well and put it back in. We haven't had the slightest bit of trouble since he left. Overall, I would say they were prompt, courteous, and did exactly what we needed without selling us anything extra. And I think the price was fair, considering it was an emergency on a Sunday morning and we are probably a 30 minute drive from their location each way. Overall we are very satisfied with the knowledgeable staff and good response times we've gotten multiple times now!

High Road was easy to schedule, showed up on time, thoroughly checked out our furnace, replaced the filter for us, and offered suggestions for use of our whole house humidifier. They are always pleasant, professional and helpful and will definitely get our business when we are in need of a replacement.

Within the day, High Road Heating & Cooling Co contacted us, set up an appointment, arrived on time and serviced our air conditioner. There was no upsell involved and the did the job, cleaned up after themselves and eased on down the road. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Working with the office was wonderful, this firm has excellent customer service and a fast repsonse time, even when I called at the hieght of extreme heat and many people needed AC repairs. The provider showed up a bit late, but called to say he was stuck in traffic. He was professional and left a detailed invoice. I only rated a B because I didn't find much value in the tune-up: outside of looking it over, I can't tell anything was actually done. Maybe that's a good sign because it didn't need anything?

Received call from High Road shortly after purchase. Set up appointment. Worker arrived on time and completed projecct. Left detailed report and was pleasant to deal with.

Purchased Angie's List Big Deal for an AC tuneup and ended up needing a new fan motor for the AC unit. The technician knew immediately what was wrong, ordered the part and had it fixed and running within a week. Really awesome service all around and would no doubt use them again for any HVAC needs.

The service man arrived on time, he was professional. He took his shoes off. Went down to the basement, did the maintenance there, went outside and cleaned the unit.

High Road was great from the very first contact. I called on a Monday and they offered me a choice of appointment times the following week. I told them we would be on vacation that week so it would have to be later. Instead the scheduled us for 1pm Thursday, just three days away. On Thursday morning at about 11:30 the tech, John, called to say that he was running early and wondered if I'd like him to come at 12:30 or the original time. I said 12:30 would be fine and he showed up then. Exactly. No appointment window. No waiting around. Right on time. John quickly performed the diagnoses on our AC system. He confirmed my suspicion that it was low on coolant and that it probably had a leak somewhere. He told me what it would cost to replace the coolant, and suggested that it was probably not worth looking for the leak, since it was very very slow and would cost more than our 25-year-old unit was worth. He explained how the system worked and gave me tips for keeping it working as effectively as possible in it's current condition. When I asked, and only when I asked, he told me what it would cost to replace the system and why. When I said that others had given me much higher offers, he explained that they were planning to install units that were too large for our house. We're not in a position to replace the system this year, and there won't be that many more really hot days. But when the time comes, we'll call High Road to do the job. Before that, though, we'll have them back to do a checkup and maintenance on our 25-year-old furnace. High Road is great in every way. I would recommend them without hesitation.

it went great. they checked out the corrosion on the outside unit which is from dog urine from the previous house owners. either way, i now know what it's from and they cleaned and treated the metal so it should last without big repairs down the road. thanks!

All went well. It took awhile to find a day we both could do the work. Phone calls were made and the worker was prompt and friendly. He took the time to check both inside and outside of the house to make certain the air conditioner was working properly before he left. Glad I had it done before the really hot weather began.

Great! He called to confirm he was on-time, showed up on time and completed a thorough inspection. He offered advice and despite an older model, he didn't push a new A/C. Removed shoes, courteous!

I came home late Sunday night from a week long summer vacation to find the inside of our house at 90+ degrees. The air conditioner had broken down, and nothing I could do could get it restarted. I am new to the Mound, Minnesota area, so I checked Angie's List and saw High Road had good reviews. So Sunday night I sent Robin, their service contact, an email asking if they could come out and do a service call (all their contact information, including phone and email, is on their website). I also included the make, model, and serial number off the back of the AC unit in my email, as well as a description of the exact symptoms and what I had tried in the hopes that this would increase my odds that they would be able to come with the part I would need in the truck. I figured they'd probably be able to guess the possible issues. They were EXTREMELY responsive. I had a return email from Robin in my email inbox at 7:08 AM the next morning (Monday), telling me she had referred me to the scheduler. By 8 or 9 AM the scheduler had emailed me telling me they were able to fit me in between 11 and 12. Many places are late, but they were over 15 minutes early, which was great given the July heat. John was my technician, and he was friendly and extremely efficient. I just showed him where the air conditioner was, and he rapidly diagnosed the problem and showed me a blown out capacitor. He did have the necessary part on the truck, and he quickly replaced it and the unit fired right up! He wrote me a quick invoice, I paid, and then he was out the door and on to the next place. It seriously took no longer than 20 minutes from arrival to departure, meaning he was pretty much done by his scheduled ARRIVAL time. That was really good, fast, and effective service, which I appreciated SO MUCH given the summer heat and short notice. I was afraid I would be sweating for days, and I couldn't believe that I could come home to a broken air conditioner Sunday night and have someone fix it by 11 AM Monday morning. I will definitely recommend and use High Road again.

Quick and professional, Dennis diagnosed the problem. My air was up and running in no time. My furnace was out of warranty with another company (not Angie's list). He couldn't explain to me why he was charging me $110 for a trip charge and $35 for labor. He said it was a gray area. Needless to say, I didn't let him charge me $600. High road charged $150 less for the blower and a $59 trip charge. Thanks to Angie's list!!

All went well and in a timely fashion. However, I used High Road's quoted specifications in evaluating competitive bids and ultimately selecting High Road. HR's stated specifications included a new condenser base and new coolant supply and return tubing. In actuality, the existing condenser base was re-used--a new one was not installed--and the unit was not fastened to the existing base; it rests there by gravity, alone, which may be good enough. In addition, the existing coolant supply lines were not replaced, they were re-used. After I brought these installation-specification discrepancies to their attention, High Road explained that their quotations have "boiler plate" that do not apply to the particulars of every job and but also appropriately deducted $150.00 from the bill.
