Description of Work: Krech performed insurance-covered storm damage with additional upgrades requested and paid by us personally from October 2013 through March 2014. They replaced the house roof, soffits and gutters, up graded the siding to fiber cement, Tyvek wrapped, enlarged or replaced some windows and a skylight and completed interior woodwork, drywall and mud and painting around the new windows as needed. In addition they did major reconstruction of our 2-car garage including total removal of the roof rafters, realigning side walls, installing new trusses and one window, residing the garage exterior and replacement of a side entry door. Because the order for special sized windows for the house required 8-12 weeks, the majority of the work was done in the dead cold of winter. The work teams were organized by Paul Reckinger who handled all our questions and communications to the insurance adjuster and to Krech various work teams. | |We were impressed with the professionalism and enthusiasm that the work teams exhibited even when working at zero weather temps. The workers cleaned up after themselves at the end of a day; and because nails sometimes fell into the snow during the winter, Paul had a crew out after the snow melted to clean up any remaining construction debris. Paul responded quickly to our emails or phone calls and everyone answered our numerous questions whether we were just curious or needed information to make a decision. We could not have asked for a better company with whom to work. We would use Krech again and would recommend them.

Description of Work: Resided three sides of my house. The siding installation went well. An immediate problem was not reconnecting the cables to my Direct TV receiver in the master bedroom. After informing Kreche about the problem they said get it fixed an I would be reimbursed. At a cost to me of $60 I got it fixed but no reimbursement from Kreche, not even a call back when I called them about the reimbursement. Also, I was told that in the spring a crew would be sent to my house to do final cleanup and do some paint touch up. Didn't happen. I've had to do all of the cleanup myself.

+ 0 moreThe workers arrived the middle of August and finished approximately four weeks later. The tear off took approximately two days, they were neat and clean in the process. The siding and window replacement progressed as expected. Make sure you think through what you want done and try not to add items during the work, it just will delay the finish. My addition was well worth the delay, so it isn't all bad. The other changes I requested were taken care of with professionalism and no complaints. If at all possible ask for Bill Dack, he does an excellent job explaining and adding ideas to the project. He tries to stop daily and make contact with you on a regular basis while the work is progressing. One thing I will say about Bill he has to deal with numerous customers with numerous requests with numerous personalities and his demeanor is impeccable. He is worth his weight in gold. If you have a complaint about Bill call me, a customer, and I will gladly discuss it with you. Krech Exteriors is a great company and treat the customer with respect. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: They replaced the Masonite siding on my home with James Hardie on the front and gables and vinyl on the sides and back. They also replaced three windows. Do consider James Hardie on the front of your home for curb appeal, the additional cost in minimal compared to the beauty and appearance you receive.

+ 0 moreI had a concern about my gutters getting bent by the ladders. They assured me the gutters would not get bent because they use guards on them. I did end up with 3 dents in the gutters. I called the company and they had no problem coming out to repair them for me. They were receptive to my phone calls, easy to talk to and quickly address all my questions and concerns.

It was there for two or three days longer than it was supposed to be. The work itself was fine, they stuck to their bid and my roof does not leak anymore.

+ 1 moreThe crews sent out to work did excellent work. They showed up early and worked right through, putting in twelve hour days. They were very pleasant and answered all of my questions fully. The major work was done extremely quick. Things slowed down considerably after the major work was done. All in all, the project took about 10 weeks, but most of that time was waiting for the windows and the doors to come in. Compared to some other contractors that were doing work in the area, it was very quick. The only negative was that I don't think they cleaned up as well as they should. Their price was the lowest bid by far, and the work is outstanding. I used them because others in the area raved about them. I'm also going to use them to reroof the house. Again, their bid was at least 15% less than any other bid, and I expect the same superior quality of work. I dealt with the owner, Bill Krech, and he was a pleasure to deal with.
Description of Work: Had major work done to repair water intrusion damage. Had stucco and siding removed, damage to the sheathing repaired, and new siding put on. All of the windows were pulled out, checked out, and reflashed. Two windows were totally replaced, as were two doors.
