DHI Sprinkler Systems

It was good. I spent $150 to maintain it all. He would come out in April to fix the heads and then get it turned on and pointing in the right way, and then in the Winter tie before it freezes over he blows all the water out.

DHI was very professional and thorough, coming out two extra days to finish the job when a rain and lighting storm prevented them from completing the install on the first day. They were courteous and responsive to all my questions and needs. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

It went great. Dale from DHI took all the time needed to ensure the system was working properly and in good order. He called ahead of time and let us know he was on his way. he was very professional and I'd highly recommend then to anyone needing sprinkler system services.

Pleased with the service. The issues I was having with my sprinkler were resolved with only a $15 part, and all of the heads in the yard were reviewed and adjusted for proper coverage. I am also happy that my winterization of the system is covered.

Dale did a great job and I would recommend him to anyone.

Dale was effective and quick. He seemed quite rushed however and although I had a few questions about my system, it definitely didn't feel like he wanted to do too much explaining.

Last summer, I had a break in a sprinkler line and half of one zone was not working. Another company told me they would have to dig up quite a bit of my front yard, remove tree roots, etc, to fix. Dale found an easier solution by rerouting and was done in an hour, with minimum disruption to my yard.

Great install and service. I couldn't be happier.

DHI's customer service is awesome. They are quick to return phone calls if they don't answer right away (which they often do). We moved into a newly built home in early 2013 so waiting for our sod to be laid was an odyssey. DHI was flexible, though, and when we found out that the sod was going in, they responded quickly, even working on a Sunday to be sure that our sprinklers were there in time for the sod. They came out to adjust the heads once, free-of-charge, when I discovered that we were getting splatter on our windows. They were also very helpful when I called in a panic because the sprinkler company our neighbors hired accidentally ripped up our sod and damaged a sprinkler head when they lost control of their trench digger. DHI assured me that if they didn't fix it, DHI would come out and do so. It isn't often that you find a company like DHI. Given their awesome customer service, we have used them for maintenance of our sprinklers. In fact, I will be calling them tomorrow to ask them to come out to turn the water back on and check the sprinkler heads. They have always been very responsive with those types of calls too, coming out within a day or two of our request. They must work ridiculous hours to be able to be so responsive.

Installation process went well, staff was pleasant and professional. I was disappointed with the location of the "valve boxes". One was placed under a fence gate where all the water collects and doesn't drain, leaving a puddle. Other valve boxes didn't seem to be deep enough leaving a hump to mow over. Large dirt clumps were left laying around the yard, generally leaving a mess. At the end of the day the crew seemed to be in a big rush to leave and it was nearing dark. The next day after discovering the issues,I called the company with my concerns and the crew came back to try fix some issues, but generally the yard was a mess . The sprinkler system itself seems to very good and I'm pleased. I"ll be anxious to see how things work this spring

Did a good job, the system repair was way more reasonable than I thought it was going to be and the shut down went just fine too.

I called and the phone was answered right away. Very flexible schedule. We had scheduled for a Sunday afternoon. He called and said he was running ahead of schedule and asked if it was OK to come out early. Very polite, timely and reasonably priced.

DHI showed up on time for our appointment and quickly understood my irrigation system. They finished the winterization without any problems and explained how they could come around in the spring to make sure it was all right. As a new homeowner who never had to deal with a lawn sprinkler system, DHI helped give me a piece of mind.

Arrived on time, quick and professional service. He even walked me through what he was doing and explained everything to me. I would definitely recommend.

They were very friendly, professional, on time, reasonably priced .... VERY nice to work with. They gave me a specific time they would show up (not a 4 or 6 hour window) ... and they were on time!! When I had a problem, they were out quickly to assess and fix the issue. I will definitely be using them again!

Right away we could tell we made the right decision. DHI promptly returned phone calls, offered clear and understandable options for sprinker layout, and was certainly competitive on cost. Dale, Shawn, and two other installers showed up right on time Thursday morning, September 26th. Because we had supplied in advance a rough drawing showing the layout of future landscaping, it did not take long for Dale and team to begin trenching pipe. While Dale and Shawn were busy doing the big-picture layout of the main irrigation supply lines and valve boxes, the other two installers were busy doing the detailed placement of individual sprays along the narrow side of the house and driveway. This is/was a very large residential lot, and DHI had originally scheduled two days. But amazingly they completed the job late in the afternoon of the first day. Shawn was very careful to check the accuracy and function of each of the water "zones" He also provided instruction on the operation of the timer and control box. All-in-all it was a very professional job. As to be expected, we have found a couple of sprinkler heads that need adjustment on the spray pattern. A few heads need to be re-positioned in the ground (they are creeping up out of the ground a little, or are tilting a bit), but DHI will be out in the next few days to do some final tweaking.

Originally solicited quotes the previous year. While Dale was in the same range as others, his Angie's list rating made the decision. His estimator discussed some options and gave us a couple of different scenarios. We elected to postpone the work at that time. This summer, we recalled for a new quote as we had misplaced the original, and assumed there would be updates. All messages went to voicemail, understandable for a small business. But, we were left wondering for a few days each time whether the messages had been received. He resent his estimator, where we asked for both the requote and a quote on doing the entire property. We were only quoted the bigger job on paper, with a reference to "I think the old one was about $xxxx.xx". We discussed with the estimator both last year and this year some of the special areas - where a boat was parked, areas that needed extra watering, etc. and noted that we were having a driveway replaced, and so if they could install a pipe at the time of the driveway work there would be a cost/time savings not having to bore a hole. We were assured that that could be accommodated, and received a discount. We called to commit, and after a few day delay, Dale returned the call. He was a bit vague as to the details of the job, and asked us to send him a confirmation via email. His email is not listed on his web site but he gave it to us in the call. Because we did not have the original quote either, we detailed as much as we could remember, and asked for an upgraded weather sensor to be included. Noted was the need to pre-install a driveway pipe. The driveway job happened a couple of weeks earlier than anticipated and we left messages that we would need him out for the pipe on a specific date. With no return call, we left another message the morning of, that he had to be there before they began the concrete pour. Our concrete contractor reported that he had not arrived, so they took it on themselves to buy and install the pipe, at a slight additional cost. Dale called to propose a tentative date, and as we had no fixed timeline or expectations, we were open to the flexibility. He did have to cancel the first date, and then recalled to schedule a second. He came as promised, and did the work quickly. Charges were as verbally noted by the estimator for the last years quote. He did not install the upgraded sensor as requested in the email. All plumbing was done with excellent workmanship by his plumber. After the fact, we discovered that his plumber had not pulled a permit with the city as required, nor had the work inspected. Dale promised to have him out the next day to take care of it. Dale also promised to call to schedule a second "orientation" of the system for me, as I could not be there on the day the work was done. He did so about a week later, and was surprised that his plumber still had not pulled a permit. The plumber corrected that the next day. Dale returned on a Saturday morning as he committed to, and reviewed the system - operation, adjustments, maintenance, etc. We discussed the sensor upgrade, and elected to postpone to see whether that installed system really needed the enhancement. He pointed out that he installs in a way to avoid any damage from accidental driving on a head, and offers free lifetime head replacements if there are ever any damages. A big plus, given how poorly I stay on the driveway. At this writing, there is one smaller spot that does not receive sprinkler coverage, and the boat parking is being well watered. We will be recalling him to suggest alterations or adjustments as needed. All-in-all we are very satisfied, and the items noted above are about what one might expect from a very small business that requires the owner to juggle many, many things at the same time while working very long hours. He attends to his customers very well, and will do whatever it takes to "make it right" (to borrow a phrase). UPDATE: I called Dale after writing the above about the items still needing adjustment, and one other item. Not only did I get directly through, he was at the house and finishing the work as I pulled in the driveway less than 4 hours later! Wow - now that is unexpected! I've adjusted my rating from "almost perfect" to "perfect" because of that!

In went Good. The person appear an hour before he was schedule. Asked questions before digging in the lawn to make sure all under ground wires and piping was identify. When right to work after asking these question and was done within 8 hrs

Dale came just in 2 days after I called. The actual cost was less than the phone estimate, and he found then fixed more problem than what I was aware. I was very happy with the result.

We had a few snafus during our installation but Dale came out to correct the problems and now our grass has never been happier.

Their initial evaluation was informative and provided us with a number of options to choose from. The installation itself was excellent. They were supposed to call the week beforehand and which is why I gave them a B in responsiveness

He did a good job. He ran a little late, but called to let us know. He called us back quickly to schedule the apointment when we first contacted him.

He arrived on time and was very professional. When starting up the irrigation system, a leak was found in one of the pipes. It was fixed right away. The service was great. I highly recommend them.

Dale and his workers were very easy to work with. They know what they are doing. They analyzed my property and corrected what was in need of repair, and (just as important) did not replace what was in good working order. Dale walked my property and fixed just what was needed. I trust Dale and his workers-I would recommend them to my neighbors.
