 + -1 moreApparently the most common mistake people make when ordering a dumpster is ordering one a size or two smaller than they really need. Amazing how quickly these things fill up. Berquist wanted to make sure you got the dumpster you needed!
Description of Work: Needed a dumpster for construction waste from a basement bathroom re-do. After calling several dumpster companies on Angie's List, Berquist seemed to have the best size offering based on the amount of debris I estimated I had. What was particulalry helpful was Berquist walking you thru the ACTUAL size of each dumpster that otherwise was just listed as "X cubic yards". On the day of delivery, Bill called to get precise instructions on where to spot the dumpster (I couldn't be there). They were also willing to come back right away (2 days) to retrieve the dumpster. Equally helpful phone calls confirming if dumspter was ready, etc.

 + -1 moreGreat. I've been more than pleased for two years. One weekend our trash can was missing. I called to the office and left a message. On a SUNDAY got a return call from the owner telling me not to worry and that a new can would be delivered that week (which it was). Excellent service.

 + -1 moreWe had an excellent experience. The Berquist Company dumpster was delivered on time and it was placed exactly as we wanted. We loaded the dumpster over the required 7-day period and then called Berqust to pick it up. They respond as we expected. The charge for the dumpster was $377. No additional charges were billed. Overall the rental experience of the dumpster was exactly as we expected.
Description of Work: Our church rented a 20-yard dumpster in Oct 2009.

 + -1 moreOver several decades, this company has proven itself to be professional, responsive, friendly, and reasonably priced. Two years ago they also helped me determine whether it would be less expensive to set out extra bags of trash occasionally or to buy a larger trash container. One time recently when I forgot to put out the trash for pickup, they didn't charge me for that week (even though their truck had come to my house anyway). And the truck driver gives my dog a treat when the dog is in the yard.
Description of Work: Berquist and Son have been handling our garbage collection for decades, ever since the company was owned by the current owner's father. I have an ongoing contract with Berquist. The most recent bill was $72 for three months of service; I have a 65 gallon trash container that belongs to Berquist. So the basic cost for the 65 gallon container and weekly trash pickup is about $24 a month, or $6 a week.

 + -1 moreWe switched to this service because it had good reviews on the internet and was family/locally owned. They also had lower prices, a coupon, and offered more services than the company we previously had. When I called to inquire they were very helpful explaining their services and we signed up with them. They said they would deliver a new garbage can and pick up our garbage. They did deliver the can but didn't pick up the garbage. When we called they were helpful and came out almost immediately to get it. Since then, everything has been great. The $64 was for the first 2 months.

 + -1 moreVery friendly and responsive on the phone. Delivery was made to the back alley driveway with no issues and I did not have to be there for delivery which was convenient. I called to have it picked up 6 days later and it was gone--easy! Would definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreAfter I read about my garbage hauler's poor employee safety record I decided to select a new garbage hauler. Ken Berquist's firm returned my call promptly and were very pleasant and helpful. I had a large quantity of old carpet to dispose of from a recent room renovation and they picked it all up at no charge over several weeks, only asking that I cut it into manageable pieces for them and leave it next to the garbage can.

Description of Work: I rented a 10 cubic yard roll off dumpster for cleaning out my garage. I requested that the dumpster be placed in front of my garage in a flat area at the end of a narrow inclined driveway. The person who delivered the dumpster took extra time & effort to maneuver the dumpster just where I wanted it. The man from Berquist was great...he was professional and very cheerful. I will definitely hire them again for all of my dumpster needs.

 + -1 moreThe first contact did not go so well since it took two follow up calls over two weeks to get a return call and when I called I went into voice mail. After that, everything went smoothly. The dumpster was delivered on time and picked up promptly when we were finished. They were very responsive and helpful when I called with a couple of questions while we were using the dumpster, such as, "Do you take lawn mowers?"

I would use them again in the future if I needed to. When I called to get an estimate on size for what I needed, They asked me questions about what I needed it for. They got the size right on. They were wonderful.

 + -1 moreKen Berquist is the nicest guy. I called on a Wed. and by Friday early morning I had my dumpster and permits. I was a crazy lady and filled the dumpster in a few short hours. I called Ken who was so nice, he offered to pick it up and drop a new one off, even though it was late on a beautiful Friday afternoon. I filled the next one in about 6 days and they promptly retrieved and delivered me a third one, navigating my driveway through a tiny alley in North Minneapolis. Everybody I worked with was extremely friendly, flexible in getting me what I needed and very promptly. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

 + -1 moreTheir service has been impeccable, and their monthly price has never been increased. They've got a 2 months free coupon for the first two months, it is worth getting that for a trial period. The trucks are clean, quiet, and well maintained. I've had them pick up various large items such as pieces of wood, a sofa, carpeting, and also yard waste. It is not expensive for the service being so easy and painless, the pickup is always on time; they do have the best idea of having a customer service relationship. All in all, a great family company.
Description of Work: I've had Bequest and Son doing my garbage collection for almost 9 years. I live in St. Paul. They bring all the trash to the Xcel Energy incinerator that burns the garbage to create electricity, the most environmentally friendly option.
