Jack was great to work with. He did most of the interfacing with the insurance company which was a big plus. The big jobs went well, but the smaller job of repairing the screen porch had some problems, which were mainly due to communication. Jack did a walk through with us and the areas that needed work were taken care of promptly.

The estimator, Jack, was very professional, and he did a good job assessing what needed to be done with the roof which was previously installed 8 years ago after a hail storm and had not been installed properly and had some issues with the vents and plywood underneath the shingles. The installers completed all of the work in one day and they were very professional and did the work, as contracted. Clean-up after the job was good, but could have been better. The workers did not finish until after dark, and it made it difficult to locate and clean up all of the nails and debris. There was good follow-up with their quality control person, Brian, inspecting the roof and taking care of any remaining items, including the inspection with the city code inspector. I very much recommend this company and the work they do.

This work was done as part of a roofing job, with Rick's Roofing arranging for the contractors to do the soffits and fascia, as well as the gutters. It appeared that Rick's roofing does sub-contract out the gutter and fascia work, but their subs do an excellent job, and they were at the site as promised, did the work in a professional manner, and clean-up of the site was good when they were finished.

On time, good clean up. We needed to call them to come back out and correct two areas where existing damage repair specified under contract had not been repaired. They were cooperative and willing to correct the errors.

Time will tell if the repair work takes care of my leak. It hasn't rained yet since he did the work. Jack was a nice guy, knowledgeable and seems on the up and up. He was running 45 minutes late, but he called me right away to let me know he would be late and to see if I could still meet him for the repair.

Very professional, took time to explain their process and estimate. While I felt comfortable with them, I had multiple bids lower than Rick's so I went a different route.

They were fabulous! They came out the same day and were quick, clean, and did a great job!

Very good experience overall. Showed up when they said they would and did a workman like job. The roof looks beautiful. My only complaint, that keeps me from giving straight ''A's'', is that we have found perhaps a dozen nails in the driveway and garage. Don't know how many may be lodged in the landscaping and yard. But the nails on hard surfaces should have come up if they had run a magnet over the driveway and garage floors as promised.

I contacted two other roofing companies and when I told them the problem dealt with a leaking skylight I could tell they were making excuses not take the job. The folks at Rick's came out within 4 days of my call, gave the estimate and completed the work quickly. I waited until now to file this report because I wanted to see how their work held up during heavy spring rain. No leaks.

It was easy to obtain a quote. We decided to go with another provider for the work.

I really appreciated them getting our job done when it needed to be done. It got done before the two big snowfalls which was an incredible relief to us, having just repainted our entire interior.

Our overall experience was good. The fact that Rick's responded so quickly to our initial plea for help convinced us that we could feel secure about hiring them for the new roof. Of course, that meant that we did not get bids from any other companies so we don't know how Rick's prices compare with what other companies charge. That's why we only give them a "B" on price.

Brian called and rescheduled the first appointment. Then, he never showed up for the second appointment and didn't call to cancel. Then the owner called and said we needed to reschedule because of the weather. I called another company who came out and completed the work immediately. This is the first time I have called a vendor whose name I got off Angie's List and unfortunately it wasn't a positive experience.

THEY NEVER CAME OUT HERE AND NEVER FOLLOWED UP.

THE GUY WHO GAVE THE ESTIMATE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL, THE COST WAS JUST TOO HIGH FOR MY BUDGET.

IT WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH SALESMAN, JACK, AND ROOFER, BRIAN. JACK WAS ON TIME FOR APPOINTMENTS AND MADE A THOROUGH INSPECTION OF THE PROBLEM AND PROVIDED DETAILED EXPLANATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS. HE ALSO PROVIDED A FOLDER WITH SAMPLES OF THE ICE/WATER SHIELD, AND A LONG LIST OF REFERENCES, WHICH INCLUDED WORK THEY DID FOR ONE OF MY COLLEAGUES. BRIAN WAS ON TIME TO START THE REPAIR WORK WHICH BEGAN IN THE PM AS THE WEATHER WAS PROBLEMATIC. BRIAN DID A NICE REPAIR JOB AND A VERY NEAT CLEAN UP. THE ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT HE LEFT HIS SAWS ALL AT HOME AND, IT TOOK AN HOUR FOR HIM RETRIEVE THEM. THIS COMPANY IS ALSO POSITIVELY WRITTEN UP IN 'TWIN CITIES CONSUMERS' CHECKBOOK (VOL 1 #4), A REGIONAL RATING PUBLICATION. THEY WORKED WELL WITH ME, AND THE HOUSING RESOURCE CENTER, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF CRYSTAL, WHICH WAS ASSISTING ME WITH SOME FUNDING. MY ROOF DOESN'T LEAK ANY MORE! I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.

THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS COURTEOUS AND PUNCTUAL. HIS COMPANY PERFORMED EXACTLY THE WORK THAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD.

JACK, THE ESTIMATOR, IS A VERY PERSONABLE PERSON AND ANSWERS QUESTIONS. HE IS PRETTY EASY TO REACH. IT TOOK A FEW WEEKS LONGER THAN I WAS PROMISED FOR THE ROOF PEOPLE TO GET OUT TO THE HOUSE, BUT IT WAS DURING A HEAT SPELL, SO THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE. THE ROOF LOOKS VERY NICE AND HOPEFULLY THEY FIXED SOME PROBLEMS WE WERE HAVING WITH WATER GETTING UNDER THE SHINGLES AT THE GUTTER AREA (THEY PUT ON THE PROPER FLASHING).

WITH THE PAINT ON THE SOFFITS ON OUR TWO STORY HOME PEELING, WE DECIDED WE HAD TO DO SOMETHING. THE BID FOR PAINTING THE SOFFITS, FASCIA (AND PORCH TRIM) WAS OVER $3000. FOR THAT PRICE RANGE, WE DECIDED TO GO WITH COVERING THE SOFFITS WITH SIDING, AND GO MAINTENANCE FREE. IT LOOKS REALLY BEAUTIFUL. IT TOOK ABOUT 2 DAYS FOR THE JOB. WE HAD ONE LITTLE COMMUNICATION PROBLEM, AND THEY DID COME OUT AND FIX IT WITHIN A COUPLE DAYS. THE CLEAN UP WAS OK, BUT THEY SET UP THEIR CUTTING STATION ON OUR LAWN AND LEFT METAL BITS AND PIECES IN THE LAWN. IF THEY HAD SET UP IN OUR DRIVEWAY, I COULD HAVE VACUUMED UP THE DEBRIS. HOWEVER, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB.

THE WORK SEEMS TO BE OK. I HAD A FEW ISSUES ON SOME COSMETIC THINGS BUT I'M NOT AN EXPERT ON SIDING. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE CLEANUP AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED. THEY PICKED UP A LOT OF BIG STUFF, BUT I ENDED RAKING SOME SMALL THINGS. SIX DAYS AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED I BORROWED A MAGNETIC SWEEP FROM A NEIGHBOR AND PICKED A GOOD POUND OF NAILS STAPLES ETC. THE SALESMAN DID PICK UP THOSE THINGS AND TAKE THEM WITH HIM. EVEN THOUGH I SAID I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN IT WOULD BE WITH SOME RESERVATIONS. I'M STILL AWAITING WORD FROM ONE OF THEIR CONTRACTORS ON ANOTHER MATTER.

IT TOOK 2 WEEKS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE AND THEN HE WAS 1 HOUR LATE. (CALLED 1/2 HOUR AFTER THE APPOINTMENT TIME AND LET ME KNOW IT WOULD TAKE ANOTHER 1/2 HOUR FOR HIM TO ARRIVE.) HE COMPLETED AN EXTREMELY DETAILED ESTIMATE AND HAD AN EXCELLENT WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE PRICE WAS $2,000 (40%) MORE THAN THE ROOFER WE HIRED. I THINK THIS COMPANY WOULD HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB, BUT THE PRICE WAS JUST TOO HIGH.

JACK CLASEN WAS THE SALES REP AND WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL FROM THE TIME THE ESTIMATE WAS PROVIDED TO THE TIME THE WORK WAS PERFORMED. THE CREW WAS ALSO PROFESSIONAL AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB WITH BOTH THE ROOFING AND THE CLEANUP. WHILE MY HOUSE WAS A PRETTY SIMPLE JOB, THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE AND THE COMPANY WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH.

VERY PROFESSIONAL BOTH IN THE PRESENTATION OF OPTIONS FOR THE WORK AND THE WORK ITSELF. THE INSTALLATION CREW WAS VERY EXPERIENCED FOR BOTH THE ROOF AND THE GUTTERS. WORK WAS DONE ON TIME, THE CLEANUP WAS EXCELLENT, THE PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE AND THE JOB LOOKS GREAT!

I RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE IN NOVEMBER OF 2004 AND ACCEPTED IT IN EARLY DECEMBER. DUE TO THE WEATHER, WORK WAS NOT INITIATED UNTIL MARCH AND FINALLY COMPLETED IN LATE MAY. THE ROOFER DID A NICE JOB AND JACK (THE COORDINATOR) MAINTAINED CONTACT TO ENSURE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED TO MY SPECIFICATIONS AND LIKING. THE NEED TO DO SOME ADDITIONAL WORK CAME UP HALF-WAY THROUGH THE PROJECT AND EVEN THOUGH THE COST WAS HIGHER THAN ESTIMATED, JACK STUCK TO THE ORIGINAL COST HE HAD QUOTED ME. THERE WERE SEVERAL INCIDENTS HOWEVER WHERE MY MESSAGES WERE NOT RETURNED AND I WONDERED ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS IF THE PROJECT WAS EVER GOING TO BE COMPLETED. I GUESS IT WAS A BAD IDEA TO START A ROOFING PROJECT IN THE WINTER, BUT JACK COULD HAVE LET ME KNOW THAT TO AVOID FRUSTRATION.

JACK FROM RICK'S CAME OUT THE SAME DAY THE ACCIDENT. THEY COULDN'T FIX THE HOLE IN THE ROOF THAT DAY, BUT PATCHED IT SO IT WOULDN'T LEAK AND CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY TO FINISH. THEY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW THEY HAD COMPLETED THE REPAIR.
