The work went pretty well overall. The work was done quickly--over two days--and efficiently. There was some problem with one of the roofers swearing (we have small kids at home) and some of our neighbor's plants got trampled. The biggest concern was with the person who did the estimate. Communication was delayed a number of times. Also, the original estimate for the flat roof section was several thousand dollars too low. Happily, replacing the flat roof was a separate section of the bid and we decided not to pursue that part of the project. However, the estimator should have gotten onto the flat roof section while doing the initial estimate to have gotten a more accurate read of the situation.

They did a good job and are very efficient. I had already hired them before to remove snow from the roof as well.

I'm quite pleased with the work. I inquired about adding gutters to my 1880s duplex. A gutter contractor I had spoken with previously said he wouldn't be able to add gutters to my home because the roof fascia lacked a flat mounting surface for gutters. Ricky took a look and told me they could add wedge mounting points and make the gutters work. They quoted a fair price and I asked them to go ahead with the work. Their two-man crew took care of the work of installing seamless aluminum gutters in one afternoon. The work looks professional and is functional, and the gutters match my existing soffit/fascia. However, upon closer examination one of the downspouts drained a little close to the foundation for my liking. I was considering just adding a flexible tube from Home Depot to direct the water further away, but then someone from the company followed up unprompted to ask how the work was. I mentioned my issue, and within a couple of weeks they had sent a guy out to add an extension to the aluminum downspout to direct the water a safe distance away. That took the experience from an A- to a definite A. Will call again if I need additional roofing or gutter work.

A great company to deal with! It was worth waiting for Rick's to get a quality job from a company that stands behind their work. Instead of advertising like so many others, they rely on reputation and word of mouth to keep their crews busy. If you have a problem with your new roof, can you even get your roofing company to come out?

I choose Rick's Roofing because they were rated highly on Angies list and other leading consumer site and they did not disappoint. Rick came out and actually got on the roof before giving an in depth quote. I have a barn style roof with a steep pitch and metal on the edges. He answered all my questions and explained all options in detail before we decided to go ahead. Fast forward to Roofing Day. Cory, the project manager, and his crew were superb, keeping me informed on the process and delivering great results quickly. They did such a good job cleaning that I didn't even find a nail in my yard. They even cleaned my gutters! The job was finished on budget and they did not expect final payment until I was completely satisfied and the city inspector signed off on the project. They also worked with the inspector and answered all of his questions. The inspector was impressed with the work as well and he has a reputation around the neighborhood for being a stickler for the rules and quality. I have hired numerous contractors over the years for projects large and small and Rick's Roofing is the best of the bunch. I would hire these guys again in a second.

We had storm damage on our 1950's rambler--the roof/gutters/siding all needed to be replaced. This was complicated when lead was found in the paint of our redwood siding. We had several contractors come out, assess the damage and then never responded again. When Rick's came out to give us a quote, they were on time, gave us a fair, clear quote and met with our insurance adjuster to make sure the adjuster understood the complexity of the project and the potential cost. Without Rick going to bat for us with the adjuster, we could never had afforded to get our house properly fixed. Rick's replaced our entire exterior including removing/replacing the windows, soffits, facia, gutters, roof and siding. It was a major renovation on our little house and garage. Everything proceeded smoothly, they showed up when they said they would, the costs were what they said they would be and the materials and workmanship were top notch. We are very pleased with the work and would recommend them to anyone.

I just came off of the worst experience of my life with a roofing contractor. Rick's was recommended by a person with much knowledge in the business and they were heaven sent. From estimate to completion they did an outstanding job. I never thought my house could look this good. Jack who initially came out listened carefully to my requests/concerns which were many after my last experience and was able to offer various options. They did a thorough assessment and we knew there was rotted wood that would need to be replaced. Ricky was able to build in a budget for the additional work that would need to be done -so "extra cost surprises" would be kept to a minimum. I live in an older house and tried to convey I needed people who could be creative and good problem-solvers as issues always come up. Zach, the supervisor of the crew was incredible - they met each specific challenge head-on with always a successful result and did not seem to cut corners - they wanted to do it right so it would last. He even made some aesthetic recommendations that really made a difference. The crew of Omar, Manuel and Jamie were hard working, professional, respectful. They arrived on time and and always cleaned things up before leaving. I feel their work was stellar. Ricky, my main contact was assiduous in keeping me informed and often on site checking on the progress. At the end they were able to work with my insurance company resulting in an increased reimbursement - bonus. I felt Ricky and his team were honest, professional and committed to providing a quality service/product that they will stand behind. This attitude seemed to come from the top and just filtered down to everyone. As a woman I never felt "dissed". My questions were answered always to my satisfaction, phone calls were quickly responded to, and my concerns always listened to and addressed. I give them my highest recommendation. Bravo.

The company is always pleasant to work with. The prices quoted seemed fair and they did everything quickly and correctly from the get-go. Josh did the siding on the four gables and siding on the garage door frame and also the chimney repairs. He is a great person to work with, staying late to finish each day he was here. The insulation was done by cutting through the roof, because of the small vault of the roof, and by removing tiles to blow it in on the sides. They do nice work and great clean-up. I wouldn't use any other company for needs like this. Great job!

Excellent service, very responsive. The workman are very neat and accommodating and when I had previous roofing done with them - they call a year after to make sure everything was okay. My 1st time using them, I had a roof, gutters, and some windows and fascia put in. When they called to check on it, I had some minor repairs needed. They came out, fixed them at no charge. He is very honest and told me his pricing is not the most expensive and also not the cheapest.

The service was very good. I found them to be very friendly and cooperative. I called to ask for a written guarantee on my roof and got it right away. They worked quickly and got it all done in 1 day, and left everything nice and clean, not one bit of mess. I would recommend them to anyone.

Working with the owner's son, Rick, was very nice. They met everything to my satisfaction.

They started early morning, when I arrived at 9:30AM most of the roofing was removed and the insulator was removing sheets that were frozen and areas where he had to insulate. All work (listed above) was done by 4:30PM which included the clean up, the dumpster was removed the next day along with a walk around performed by the project manager. A full clean up will be done this spring because of what the snow hides. I questioned why the new roof vents were placed on the opposite side of the roof as existing, which is an uncommon practice and goes against all my research, but the insulator said it was needed because the vaulted ceiling did not have ventilation and the attic needed this for flow - I guess the future will tell as this was the real reason for doing all the work to begin with - preventing ice dams that occurred ~16 feet up from the fascia and 5 feet from the peak due to settling and lack of insulation in the vaulted ceiling.

It was okay. They seem to be pretty good. They left no trace behind. The price was fine. The service was good.

I found them on Angie’s List. They were really good. They came in and the crew got things done. I had a little problem about six months later that wasn’t their fault but they came in and took care of it okay. They were punctual. When they came and did the bid, they were very thorough about the product they were going to use and why they wanted to use that product. It was good because it was warranted for a long time. It was also transferable to the next owner which made it very nice. If I have got a warranty for 50 years on a roof, why not transfer it because I probably won't be here in 50 years, so that was very good. They did a really good job when it was time for the crew to come in. They were really good and they were a nice team.

We noticed our gutters were ice dammed so we called Rick's because we've used them before and they always did a real good job of coming out to remove the snow and ice. They were able to come out three days later and cleared the roof and ice.

Ricky Longnecker removed several tons of snow from my roof. He was personable, punctual and efficient. He and a crew of three others cleared all the snow off my roof in one hour. They also cleared my sidewalk, driveway and deck of the snow that was removed from my roof. I am very satisfied with the job they performed, and grateful for their prompt and attentive service.
