+ -1 moreWe had a great experience with them. The work was done in one and a half days. They did a really good job and everything looked good. Their price was average. They did clean up after themselves. Something that was really nice about them was that, they took a picture after they stripped the roof off. They even took progress pictures. As they went along they showed me as to where they put the special vapor barrier. They also showed me as to where they put the flashing and how they installed it, which was really nice. They also gave me information about the tiles and the shingles. I will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: Ricks Roofing and Siding replaced our entire roof about 2 years ago.

+ 0 moreJack who came out to give me a bid was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. All work was completed within a day and half and met all building codes for Minneapolis. Gutters were put on a different day with another crew. There was slight miscommunication and they left the site even though I was home. I needed the gutters put on ASAP because we were expecting a heavy rain that night. One of the project managers made a few calls and the crew was back and finished within an hour and a half. They did a good job of cleaning up debris after they completed their work.
Description of Work: Old shingles removed, new shingles put on including gutters and downspouts. All debris taken away.

Description of Work: Rick's quoted redoing the flashing on the chimney of my place for $500, (a good price). When they started to get into the work they realized the chimney bricks and morter were in much worse shape than they thought. Rick's quoted rebuilding the chimney and I also had another company give me a quote. When I informed Rick's that I was going with the other company because of price, the manager at Rick's (I forget his name), called me up and apologized that they had initially misdiagnosed the problem and said they are usually more thorough. He informed me that they would be sending the $500 back that I had already paid for the flashing work, (I received a check within a week). This was unexpected and very professional. I will be calling Rick's for quotes on new shingles next summer.

+ 1 moreThey did a wonderful job, and they did it the way we wanted it done. They were honest and professional. They were communicative and told us when they were coming out. They replaced the roof in two days. The cleanup was excellent and they did not leave anything behind. Their work looks good.
Description of Work: The roofing company replaced the damaged roof and put gutter screens to prevent leaves from falling into the gutters. They also did the upper level soffits, fascias, and siding.

+ -1 moreMy experience with Rick's Roofing has been very, very good. First, they have been very communicative; always calling me up to give me a status on the progress of the project. Second, they have not been bothered at all when I have called them up and asked questions or expressed concerns. They were very careful with a special wireless radio tower I have on my roof which provides Internet access to me. When I noted that my satellite dish stopped working after the second day, they helped me to get it working again. The people are friendly and helpful, and they made the whole process less painful. Oh, and when I had additional wind damage in between the time that the original damage occurred and the new roof was installed, they stopped by, looked over the problem, assured me that my house would be okay until they performed the new roof installation, and removed the fascia that had blown off.
Description of Work: My roof had hail damage from last year. They removed the roof and installed a new roof. They will also be replacing some windows and doing some painting.

+ -1 moreI had a bad roof. Rick's Roofing was out to take look and give me an estimate for replacing it within a few days of my call. Based on the two other estimates I got, their price was competitive, but I really hired them based on their reputation on this List. Work began within two weeks of my acceptance of their bid. The job was plagued with terrible weather, but the crew worked every chance they got; half days, early evenings, and all day on a Saturday, whenever it was not raining. The foreman called in the mornings to let me know what they were planning for the day, based on the forecast. They cleaned up after themselves, and I especially appreciated the rolling magnet they used to pick up all the stray roofing nails. No nails turned up in my tires! They also handled all permitting and inspection parts of the work professionally.
Description of Work: Total tear-off of roof on house with a 2200 sq. ft. foot print, complete re-roof with architectural shingles.

+ -1 moreRicks roofing visited my home and inspected my roof. They spent over an hour educating me on the type of roof I had and what were the best choices for shingles and venting. They brought samples of everything so I could see first hand what were my available choices. They described the entire process from start to finish and what I should expect along the way. My entire roof was replaced with Owens Corning Duration shingles, the venting system was updated to the latest codes, and the wood on my roof was replaced where needed. When the job was completed the install crew were very polite and spent a large amount of time cleaning up any debris and nails left on the ground. Everything was started and completed as promised and right on schedule. I AM WRITING THIS REPORT FOR OTHERS TO READ BECAUSE I FOUND AN UNBELIEVABLE COMPANY THAT ALSO PROVIDED ME THE MOST COMPETITIVE QUOTE OUT OF 5 THAT I RECEIVED.
Description of Work: My entire roof needed to be replaced and the wood needed to be check for rot. My venting system on my roof was outdated and I lived in an area that has high winds. I knew nothing about roofs, shingles, vents, city codes, etc. All I had was my membership to Angie's List. What a life saver! I contact 5 contractors to visit my home. I sat down with Jack from Rick's Roofing and within an hour everything was explained to me in a very profession manner. Rick's Roofing's professionalism far surpassed every other roofing contractor that visited my home that day. Jack had all the shingle samples, the knowledge from being in the business for many years, he understood all of the building codes, he uses his own dedicated roofing crews, provided hundreds of references and certifications, and he personally was at the site inspecting the job. I normally do not write reviews, but when a contractor performs above and beyond I think members should know. You really should consider RICK"S ROOFING.
