 + 2 moreAll work has been to our satisfaction and they are very prompt with communications as well as scheduling work. The only dissatisfaction was installation of gutters in the snow so there were lots of scraps, nails, tools, etc buried in the snow that we had to do the clean up ourselves in the spring after the snow melted. We would not have kept using them had they not met our expectations to a "T".
Description of Work: We have used Rick's for a number of jobs: new roof and decking (twice, once after last year's hail storm), new front door and storm door, installation of covered gutters, snow removal from roof

 + -1 moreWhen I took their estimate I thought it was a fair one. They arrived when they said they would. Immediatly went right to work. Didn't even take a break. When they were done you couldn't tell they'd been here. They cleaned up everything. Then the next day they came and checked everthing to make sure they hadn't missed anything. And they hadn't.  + -1 moreThe leak was not fixed and we require satisfaction. If filing an unsatisfactory Angie's List report is the only way to get them to take notice and do something about our problem, than so be it.
Description of Work: After securing bids from 3 roofing companies to repair our roof, we decided to go with Rick's due to their Angie's List rating and workmanship guarantee. We have had ice dams in the past and wanted our interior problem repaired permanently, and this concern was brought up all parties we talked to at Rick's, especially Brian. So we sat back and waited for the winter. In February, we had inside water damage again and contacted Rick's immediately. Brian came out within a week's time but said he didn't "feel" any water coming in. A week later, the inside water damage got MUCH worse and we contacted Rick's again. Brian has since not been returning calls and is indicating "we repaired the leak correctly". If that was the case, it wouldn't leak at all, but it still does after any ice dam. This is only a winter issue; no summer leaks has ever been evident within our house. After contacting another roofing expert, we found out that Rick's has performed only a portion of what they should have in repairing this problem. We are still looking to them to fix the issue, but Brian and anyone from Rick's are not returning our phone calls any longer, so thereby we have to give them a VERY poor rating for what they have performed. We would just like the issue resolved, and will also be submitting a Better Business dissatisfaction report until the issue is resolved.

They had some young people working with them that did all right on the roofing but when they replaced the siding they didn't understand very well what they were doing. They weren't the lowest bidder but they were the only ones who could do both the roofing and the siding. I paid them about a $300 premium as to what I would have paid if I had done them separately. They communicated and were here when they said they would be.
Description of Work: They replaced a valley for me. It was heading into the siding of the house. I had water damage from last year. They repaired that and changed the valley so it bypassed the siding.

 + -1 moreI am not positive what they do for ice damns, but I know that they don't steam them. I wanted someone to remove the ice d*** and I didn't realize that they would not remove it. This was the second time that I have used the company.

 + -1 moreIt took about 2 days to complete my roof. The company also needed to replace some of the wood, which had rotted due to incorrect installation of insulation material. They took pictures of the open attic and explained everything that needed to be done to get it fixed. To help with air flow in the attic, more soffit vents were installed and old vents replaced with bigger ones. Overall the company did an excellent job.
Description of Work: Removed old shingles and installed new ones, changed plumbing stacks, valleys and vents.

 + -1 moreExcellent. They showed up on time, and got to work right on schedule. They took care of all the coordination with the insulation company, which was a big help. Got no complaints from the insulation company about Rick's either. The team was very professional, and very polite. They worked well into the evening, maybe 8:00 or so (it was pitch black when they wrapped up). The job was almost entirely done in one day. 1-2 guys came the next morning and finished it off in a couple of hours. They took away all the junk, and did a really nice job cleaning it up. No damage to driveway from trash receptacle. Next day our coordinator came out and we went up on the roof together for final inspection. Really great experience. They were up front about all charges, explained everything really well. Didn't give me any grief on the coordination with the insulation team, which I suspect is a bit of a pain for them.
Description of Work: Replaced 25+ year old roof. Removed a section of underlying plywood to allow insulation company access to a tricky part of the attic. Added a ridgeline vent system. Replaced a couple of moisture damaged plywood sections.

 + -1 moreScott and crew did an excellent job. They were punctual, efficient, swift and cleaned the area up well. The garage roof went from looking shabby to looking elegant. They also did a quick check of my house roof and replaced some loose shingles on my house roof. Wayne did a great job of updating me on changes in the scope of work as deficiencies in the old roof were discovered. I would definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreThe estimate was informative and thorough, at the end of which I had a detailed proposal, a copy of relevant state statutes, a certificate of liability insurance, a long list of prior customers with phone numbers, a warranty statement, literature from the shingle manufacturer, and copies of several awards, including some from Angie?s List. Roofers showed up early one morning, later a dumpster, later a shingle delivery truck. After about 10 working hours, even though rain was threatening, much of the work was done and the roof was left waterproof for the night. The site was cleaned up. Next day, work was completed and the site cleaned up again. Next day, remaining materials were picked up, and the dumpster removed. Rick?s manager noticed a minor bit of damage to one of my rain gutters, and it was corrected. A lien waiver was provided, I wrote the check, and the project was complete. Absolutely excellent service. Polite personnel who would answer any question. A comment by the city inspector that Rick?s regularly does good work. And, to top it off, no blaring boom box, and a quiet compressor to drive the nail guns. I don?t think it gets any better than this.

 + 0 moreI requested several bids, and Rick's was the lowest. Rick's came highly recommended from my next door neighbor, who had just had her roof re-done using Rick's. The people were responsive and professional. The work was done well and it was done on time. The workers damaged some of our accent lights, so Rick's gave us a credit to replace them.
Description of Work: Rick's tore off cedar shakes and other roofing materials under that and installed new architectural shingles. They also made arrangements for installation of leaf guard gutter helmets.

 + -1 moreBrian called, indicating the roof would be installed the next day. Roofers arrived , rather un- obtrusively, covered sensitive areas with tarps, and rolled a dumpster on to our driveway. The job was completed in 4-5 hours. All debri was cleared very efficiently. Brian, the contact person, came on Monday to inspect the job. In my estimation it was an excellent job.
Description of Work: Roof was torn off and new roof installed in approximately 5 hours on detached garage.

 + 1 moreA very pleasant experience. While the other contractors gave confusing (and higher) bids, Rick's adhered to the insurance claim amount. The lead installer was easy to work with. While there were some issues during the job (as with any large project), Rick's immediately addressed these to my satisfaction. The supervisor was very responsive.
Description of Work: Rick's bid for the job based upon an insurance claim, tore off existing roof, added a complete new roof, replaced two skylights and added one new skylight opening. New flashing, vents, etc., all around. Also added rolled roofing to a rear porch and roofed the garage.

We were set to go with this company but a little snafu (at no fault to Rick's Roofing) with trying to get a mutual appointment with insurance agent, contracter, and myself together got in the way. Sloan, in the office was very cordial and understanding. I have every reason to believe that this is a respectable and competent company. Quoted price was reasonable as well.
