Original installation of garage door was done by Metro a few years ago, that went absolutely fine. So we take no pleasure in writing a bad review this time around. Cables needed replacing so naturally called them for that repair. Issues this time: 1) Price was quoted on site at $100-$200, ended up with final bill at $234.53, so was misrepresented. Labor charge was $104 for 36 minutes of on site work, plus $75 service call charge. 2) When we tried to open the door, it did not engage. Doesn't seem that the tech tested the door after install, or did not check it adequately. 3) When called for assistance to engage the traveler, was referred to a youtube video. Service manager implied that it was our fault for disengaging it. Were quoted another $200 to replace the assembly, but will just do a spring replacement on my own. Summary: We pay top dollar for expertise and expect the job to be done right and finished right. Unfortunately did not happen in this case.

An old garage door opener failed and needed to be replaced. The technician called in advance of the appointment and showed up on time as scheduled. The garage door opener was installed without any problems. The technician suggested that the door rollers were badly worn out and should be replaced as well. The cleanup when work was complete could have been a little better.

Randy showed up within hours of the call. He explained the pricing (incl. a possible garage door opener replacement). I had a $20 off Angie’s List coupon. He replaced the springs and did a 43 point maintenance and safety check (lubricated the rollers and hinges, to reduce the noise). He was done in 45 minutes. He was very friendly and professional.

I was very pleased with Metro Garage Door from estimate to installation. They were prompt, helpful, and kept me informed. The installation was excellent. Best part, I absolutely love my new doors!! They have enhanced the look of my home and it's curb appeal. I would recommend them and use them again.

Service arrived on time and did work quickly and in a professional manner. I've used Metro before and wouldn't hesitate to use again or recommend to others.

There's nothing like the Garage door spring breaking on a Friday night on a holiday weekend. Metro was ready to book me for the next day, no extra charges. The workman arrived was professional, and completed the job timely. I'm so grateful that I didn't have to worry about how I was going to get my car out, get parts, etc, etc. I would definately recommend to others and hire again.

They were very professional and the doors look great. There was quite a delay in getting the doors in, but they were willing to do a quick fix on one of our current doors while we were waiting and did not charge us for the visit and fix. Other than that, all went well. We have used them to fix doors several times and they are always very prompt and efficient.

Couldn't be happier. Quick, competent service, reasonable price. No baloney. Would definitely use them again,

I called for an appointment the night before, and was able to schedule something the next morning. The service was prompt and as promised. They even corrected a mistake made on another door by some other company fast and effectively. I wish everyone was as reliable, knowledgeable, and prompt as this company. They have got to be the best.

At first it looks like they fixed the issue... but door broke again and rollers came off. When called to honor the work, they refused to fix saying it is only one month warranty... NEVER GO WITH THEM. You can't trust this company

It could not have gone any better. I called them at 7:45 on a Monday morning and the spring was replaced by 2:30 in the afternoon the same day.

I called 3 A rated companies on Angie's List. One did not answer. Second one needed 3 days to schedule. Metro was called at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning and they showed up by 11:30 same day. Randy is a 18 year pro that did excellent work. Explained everything to me as I watched. Finished the job in less than one hour. I would recommend them to anyone.

When the installer finished my door, he told me mine was not sealing tight but should probably correct itself. If not, I should call and they could come out and fix it. I called and scheduled someone to come out.The first appointment, I waited 4 hours and no one came. Was told someone would come between 8-12. When I called, they said sorry and someone would come out 2 days later. When the rep came, he said he was sorry but there was nothing they could do! Then they charged me a service fee. When I called the office about this, I was treated rudely and nothing was done! I would never hire them again or recommend them to anyone!

The installer came and quickly installed the new garage door opener. Everything went as expected.

We had a broken spring on the garage door. Because I had used Metro before and been happy with them, I gave them a call. They responded very quickly and fixed my door right away. They are a great company to work with.

We were quoted a price to replace two garage door cables although only one was broken, and that is what we contracted them to do. The technician came and installed one, but charged us for two. He never told us he didn't install the second cable, but we paid for two and then he left. When I went to the garage later I looked and saw that only one was replaced. I was livid. I called the company and they tried to tell me that the technician ran into difficulties installing the first cable and was short of time, so he only installed one. He never told me that he ran into difficulties. Did he think that I wouldn't notice the other cable not being replaced? Do I appear to be someone who just fell off the turnip truck? This is unbelievable behavior for a well-established company, and this being the first time I have ever used them. Are there any scrupulous firms in this country??

No problems. Had to replace the sensors to make door go up if something is in the way. Also replaced outside and inside panel. The only negative is that I think they omitted my warranty card. There is supposed to have a a symbol on it to use to submit warranty.

Not too impressed. Our double garage doors had to be "special ordered" (ok, no problem). Were told we had to wait 2-3 weeks for arrival of doors (ok) and then had to wait again to schedule the installation appointment (another couple of weeks?!). Sometime during all of this waiting, we were informed that one of the doors was damaged during shipment so it had to be re-ordered. We had to wait ANOTHER 2-3 weeks for arrival of the second door and then AGAIN for an installation appointment. We have a sneaky suspicion that they forgot to order "two" doors for our project at the outset. The whole process was much longer than we anticipated. Communication was not very good - often, we had to contact their office to find out what was happening. Have to say, though, that the installer did a decent job - no complaints there. But, we would probably look elsewhere for any future projects involving our garage doors.

He not only replaced it but also re-adjusted the rails and then greased all the joints.

Both times the technician was prompt and efficient. In both cases he did excellent work and was professional. I was satisfied and have no complaints or suggestions for improvement.

Beautiful job. It's so nice to be able to use my garage door again without it falling on us. This was a most satisfactory transaction in every respect.

TERRIBLE company to work with. Very disappointing. Our garage door spring was under a 5 year warranty (it had been about 3 years) - Greg, a manager at Metro said the warranty was for a 'pro-rated spring' therefore since we used the spring for about 3 years, they would only give us $11 off the replacement cost and we would have to pay all labor charges. Once I was able to locate and produce our warranty certificate that clearly stated that it was a "complete and non-prorated warranty" they had no choice but to honor it. I scheduled my appointment and was given my four hour window of time when the service would be done - after four and a half hours they finally showed up. Clearly putting our service at the end of their day - not giving any priority to our job. This company was terrible to deal with - they do not keep electronic records so if you do have a warranty - hang on to the receipt/certificate. Their warranties are a scam - they have now changed them to 'parts only' and possibly 'pro-rated parts only' which is just a fraction of the cost of the service. The bulk of your bill is for labor and with their new warranty you will be paying all the labor. We had been customers of Metro for many years and were very disappointed that this is how they handle loyal customers.
