+ -1 moreWe originally pulled their name from Angies List. We also had friends that had used this company and they were very satisfied. The salesman was courteous and knowledgeable. Process was well explained, as were available options. Once we paid the deposit, the installation, we were told would be in a couple weeks following. As promised, the installation manager called a couple weeks later to schedule the installation. The installer was very very professional and easy to work with. Did the entire job by himself in about 1/2 a day. He tested it, adjusted the sensors, and then demonstrated it for me. after a couple weeks, it has continued to work perfectly.
Description of Work: We replaced our two wooden single-door garage doors. The existing garage door openers remained in place, but the doors, springs and track were replaced with double-sided steel doors.

Making the appointment was easy, technician showed up on time, did an amazing job, was very helpful in explaining what he was doing, what needed to be done, as well as a couple things I should keep an eye on for future. My gargage door was loud and clunky and would occasionaly get stuck, now it is so quiet and smooth I have to verify it actually went down.

They were very easy to schedule with. They were very professional and polite. They said it would be 2-3 weeks before the new door arrives but I was very happy with them.

+ -1 moreI called them on Wednesday, and they came out Thursday to repair the door. They were very fast, and made it convenient for us to have the work done. Payment was also fast and easy. I knew it would not be cheap, but I was not sure how much a repair like that would run. Also we had decided we could not do the repair ourselves, especially during the work week when it was already dark early in the evening, in January. Overall it was fast, and they made it easy for us.
Description of Work: They replaced bad rollers on our garage door which would no longer close. They also did a lube with their 23 point check.

+ -1 moreOverall, WOULD NOT USE. DISAPPOINTED and felt ripped off. Now, I need a better one to fix a stripped plastic gear. Anyone have better recommendations?
Description of Work: I paid to have my garage door rollers replaced, and when this company came in the middle of the winter, they basically had a servicemen come out. He showed up, was prompt, and basically seemed like he didn't want to change the rollers (it was cold out, it's labor intensive, etc.). He basically tightened a few screws and said that it would fix the door and that the rollers didn't need to be replaced (as they would be replaced by cheaper plastic ones). He readjusted things (which I didn't ask for the speed to be changed),l and literally 2 months later, my gear stripped and died, which I believe he caused. The door had been working for 10 years plus, and didn't completely malfunction until he adjusted it. Addendum: The owner called me a few weeks ago (approximately 1 month after the service) and stated that the 28 point check didn't cause the gear problem. While I appreciated the customer service feedback, it became a 15 minute call of arguing whether or not the two were related (e.g., changing the speed at the tune up and the gears stripping). I finally had to disconnect as he basically wanted me to change my review. If they provided better customer service (e.g., refund of the rollers which were never used), I'd be more comfortable with changing it. Regardless, I updated them from an F to a D for trying. I would still not use them.

+ -1 moreI called early on Saturday to scheduled replacement of cables for the same day. They were able to work me in at the end of the day. I was a little disconcerted that I hadn't heard anything from them by 3pm so I called to confirm which they did. The tech called about 3:30pm and arrived about 4pm. The tech (Tom) was fantastic. Job was finished quickly and Tom showed me some maintenance tips to help extend the life of the garage door. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Replacement of door pulley cables on my garage door and 23 point inspection.

Call center understood my problem without treating me like I was a stupid homeowner (as a different garage company did the day I called). Technician (Randy) arrived during the 4 hour window of time that I chose on the following day. I wasn't at home, so my wife spoke with Randy. When he explained the issues to my wife, they called me and together we spoke about the problems. I had asked for some bent track to be replaced along with weather stripping, but Randy suggested that we not spend a lot of money on this door as it is really showing its age. We decided to do the minimum work to keep the door operating for the short term, and will look to replace the doors soon, after we've had time to look around and confirm what style we like.
Description of Work: Replaced both cables, both bottom brackets for the cables and 2 rollers.

When a spring broke, I called Metro Garage on a Friday and we made an appointment for the following Tuesday morning. Adam called before he came and promptly went to work. He replaced both springs and the work for the voucher. Work was completed in about an hour. Adam explained what he had done and went over the warranty. I would definitely use Metro Garage again and would recommend the company.
