The service technician was very business like in his approach to the safety check. He detected a frayed cable and quoted a non-negotiable repair price which I accepted. He replaced our garage door rollers pursuant to the Big Deal offer and, at our specific request, he installed a new rubber dam on the bottom of the door. Following his work, the door operated smoothly and more quietly than before so I knew that we had obtained both good work and value from this service call. If there is any downside to this provider's service and sale of product it is the limited 30 day warranty which I feel is too short a warranty given installation of new rollers, a new cable and a new rubber dam. So far, however, the work and parts have held up through our difficult winter of 2012-2013.

I had bought the $99 coupon for rollers tune up but my springs had broken . He was kind enough to use the coupon for the sping and roller change.

Went well, came and did the work fast and gargage door still working.

Had old door opener replaced in Feb 2013 with a LiftMaster - cost $400+ Everything worked fine and we're satisfied with the product so far. Recently we were unable to get our second remote garage door opener to work. I replaced the battery to no avail, called Metro Garage, they came out when promised and hit the learn button and the remote worked. For that they charged me $69. I would have thought it more professional for them to suggest I try hitting the "learn" button as a potential fix, saving me the money and them the trip. Guess my disappointment is that they didn't care enough about a repeat client to offer some free advice.

Nice toe be able to reach someone when I called on Friday evening. I opted to have service on Saturday, with a window of 8-4 PM. The serviceman called about 30 minutes before arriving as requested, and came at 8:45 AM. he took him a little over an hour to make the repairs, and now it works fine again. Very professional.

I hired them to install a garage door opener in one stall of my detached garage. For the FIRST visit the installer arrived on time, and did a reasonable job installing most of the hardware so that it worked, and worked well. Trouble in paradise: FIRST VISIT The installation was done so that the weight of the entire opener, stuck out on rails about a foot from a thin support beam. Imagine the rails and beam as your arms bent in an 'L' shape and the opener as a 20lb rock you're holding in your hands. Your elbows are made of ONE screw each. And these screws take all the torque from opening the garage door. They didn't call it out. I saw it and thought, "This is going to be a problem in a few years." When I asked about this the response was, "It was the only way to get it done". I asked to have an internet gateway installed to monitor the state of my garage door. They sold it to me at twice the going rate on amazon and just handed me the box. I also paid for an exterior opener from them. The person brought the wrong exterior keypad, so we arranged to have this person come back with correct keypad and install it early in the morning so I wouldn't have to miss work (I was paid hourly). Very specifically the installer said "this will be the first stop". SECOND VISIT - ATTEMPT? The morning came for the second visit and, no installer... I waited most of the morning and missed out on well over $100 worth of work time. I called and asked what was going on and was told "We don't schedule things like that." and, "Why didn't you call earlier." To which I responded "Because I was given a time range and waited until the end of it to call you." FINAL VISIT - just drop off the hardware. I'll do it if you can't. We talked about scheduling another visit, but this time they wouldn't commit to any specific time during the day. I couldn't afford to loose an entire day's worth of productivity to waiting around to them, so we just agreed that they'd drop off the keypad and I'd do the hookup myself. They dropped off the unit, and I finished the installation myself a couple days later. "We gave you a fair price"... I explained my lost income to them, and them not performing all the work they agreed to (hooking up the keypad and mounting it) they refused to discount the price at all. If they'd done everything agreed to in a timely manner It would have been a price gladly paid... They offered to sell me more openers, they were over two times the going rate on amazon. Fair price? I disagree. I installed an extra beam in the garage this spring to take the weight. Despite my previous experience I wanted to give them a chance to 'make it up' (while earning more) I contacted them via email to see if they wanted to install an opener in the second garage and attach the first to the support beam. (to stave off issues... it's not opening as well as when first installed.) I never heard back from them, even to say 'no thanks'. It's kind of a bummer, since they did seem like well meaning people at the beginning, but their actions tell a different story.

First, they were timely, everything happened when promised. Removal of old doors was done separately, so the site was clean before they started installation; they had a clean work area!! Installation of all equipment and electrical controls was done in one day. One switch didn't function right, so they came right back and fixed it, no problem. Everything works great, and we love the texture and color we selected from their showroom.

All went well. Just as advertised.

Our springs broke in two place requiring a new one.. Seemed expensive for the 20 minutes at most of work done. He was prompt and knowledgeable though so that was reassuring. He also gave us advice regarding future problems that may arise with our garage. This was helpful as first time home buyers.

I was a new owner so I am not sure what the going rate is for installing a garage opener. I just felt $150 was expensive for me. About six months later I was unable to open the garage with the password after about thirty mins of trying I finally opened it with the extra remote. And even until today it takes 2-3 tries on the password to get it open. I see an error message that says check your wire for malfunction. I manage until today somehow, and just putting off calling someone to fix it fearing the high cost.

Everything went according to plan and the extra service they offered really gave me peace of mind coming into winter

Randy showed up on time and was able to replace the springs in about a half-hour. I asked if Metro offered a discount to Angie's customers, and he said there may be a coupon on their website. When I checked, there was a coupon shown for a $20 discount on replacement springs, but it had expired at the end of last year. I called the office to ask if they'd still honor the coupon and was told they would only honor the coupon at the expense of the warranty on the installed springs. I asked why and was told it was their "policy." I see the discount being offered as a "thank-you" to customers who have called based upon what they've read from Angie's List ratings. I don't see how using this coupon should have anything to do with honoring the products or services provided. The installer (Randy) was very courteous and friendly and did a great job, but I will not be calling Metro again. "My" policy is to not do business again with companies that jerk me around for $20.

The work went very well. They came and were very efficient.

I wanted them to come out and do the tune-up for the purposes of solving an issue that caused the door to not want to close when it was sunny out. The dispatcher forgot to give this information to the tech that came out, and they had left before I had a chance to make sure that everything was taken care of. I called them up to see what could be done, and they promised to deduct what I had originally paid from the next service call. However, it turns out that whatever they did during the tune up managed to fix the issue anyway, so I ended up not needing to take them up on their offer.

Over all it went as expected or better.

He took the time to explain to me how the garage door worked, what we could do to maintain it, and when we should plan on replacing it (not soon).
