Within minutes of arriving, I was told I needed a new garage door opener. When I declined, the $99 Angie's list deal was supposedly completed in the next ~30 minutes. As I mentioned, I was told to not bother moving my car which was directly below the unit. How could it have been greased etc as promised? The rollers were replaced as promised which is why I agreed to a reduced price of $50 after several discussions with the owner. Ultimately it was the springs which caused the garage door to be so noisy. And although the technician marked the springs as checked, one broke within 3 weeks of the "complete" garage door check - (and yes, I know a spring can break at any time). Once I had the springs replaced and balanced, the garage door is now quiet. I would have gladly paid to have the springs replaced at the time of the check up and avoided being locked out of my garage for 2 days, however this was never mentioned as a potential reason for the noisy garage door.

I also had him install a new push button code outside opener They cost about $40 at Menards He charged about $130 - a lot for the labor when he was already out here and it took about 15 minutes My door has operated great tho and I have had no problems Ir has been at least 3 years - I can't remember the exact date

Awesome! My cable broke on the garage, I hired Metro Garage Door (MGD). The garage door opener was fairly new (2010), but it didn't sound right since the install. I called the people who installed it 2x's to say it sounded like a truck hitting something every time it lifted, they told me that it was suppose to sound like that. (rolling eyes but... they are the experts). I hired Metro Garage Door (MGD) to fix the cable and give the door a "tune-up." When MGD was on site, I told the technician the story I had been told about the sound so he wouldn't be alarmed. I went into the house to leave him to his work. When the technician was done, he asked me to come out to make sure I was happy. He made the garage door go up and guess what???? The "truck" sound was no longer there! He fixed it! Holy smokes!!! I am thankful every time I open the garage door. Its a stress reliever. In the past when I would launch the door, I prayed it wouldn't drop off the ceiling. I'm very happy with the service and will call MGD if I ever need any more repairs.

My garage door flew open, damaging the door, when I pressed the opener. Metro Garage came out the day I called them, figured out what was wrong and fixed it. Also replaced the light bulb for me and didn't even need a ladder! They came when they said they would, explained what went wrong and fixed it promptly.

The only hicup as it were, is that the scheduling person was kind of crabby when we called for the appointment. We've noticed this for almost all of the Angie's List purchases we've made, so we were a little aprehensive for the service but everything was great. The guy was on time and professional. Checked over our garage door components and oiled/replaced as needed. This is the first check-up we've had on the garage door opener since buying the property. Before we moved in, someone had clearly bumped their car into the garage door and there is some denting inwards. The guy from MetroGarage Door Co pointed out to us places where due to this denting, the door is starting to pull away from the opener frame and he estimated we will need a new door within about a year. Good to know we can hold out a bit longer, but also great to have the details pointed out to us. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth on this coupon.

This review is for my sister in law, who is not an Angie's List member, but did have these services provided and wanted to provide the feedback: I received three estimates to replace my garage door from different providers. The estimates were all within $100 of each other, with Metro Garage Door the lowest so I went with them. I was told when I ordered it the garage door would be in within two weeks. At two weeks I called and was told it would be in that Thursday, with openings to install it on Friday. I heard nothing on Thursday so I called at the end of the day and was told (abruptly, no apologies) that it was on the truck and would be taken off Friday installed on Monday - which would be about three weeks from the time I ordered it. This was all very matter of fact, and I was already disappointed with the lack of smile on the phone or apology for the delay. The appointment was on Monday and the person arrived very promptly. He said it would take about 4 hours or so, so I made plans for the afternoon. It ended up taking about 8 hours. When he finished and asked me to come inspect it - I pointed out the very visible seam in the top. He didn't know why it was happening and had to call someone else in to help. When he came in to help, I was told if I wasn't okay with the outcome now they would need to order a new piece from the manufacturer and they would need to come back (read: be okay with the visible seam or we're doing this all over again. An hour after they left the garage door stopped closing. It was acting like there was something in the sensor, but there wasn't. When I called the company to tell them I was told that they could send a tech out, but they would probably have to charge me for it. I literally thought she was kidding. She said that since the garage door had just been replaced, and they hadn't done anything with the motor, chances are it's unrelated and an additional charge. Even though we had no problem with our old garage door closing, and they had just spent 8 hours working on the garage door. The problem ended up fixing itself, luckily. Now today, the garage door stopped closing again. It would go super fast, jerk to a stop and bounce back up. When my husband got home he saw that one of the two nuts and bolts had fallen off that attach the arm to the chain. Again, luckily he was able to fix it because the last thing I wanted to do was contact the company again. In the beginning, had anyone in the office apologized for the delay, or spoken to me with kindness I think the rest of it wouldn't have been as bad. As it was, my experience in the beginning was abruptness and gruffness. Then the extra time it took to install, the issue with the seam, hearing an hour later that we would have to pay for someone to come back to fix something that wasn't working, and now the nuts/bolts falling off.....overall not a company I would be able to recommend to someone.

He came out and I am not too happy. I am not sure what to do. The garage door does not work. It was several months ago but I don't want him to charge me again to come out to look at it. Within a day of him coming out, the door was not working again. He seemed knowledgeable but he said that he didn't really need me to come out for the particular problem I was having.

I was not sure of the root cause of the loud metallic screeching sound, so when I called Metro Garage Door, they were very helpful. They were very professional, from the initial call, appointment scheduling and prompt service call. I have used them in the past and have been very satisfied, and I'll certainly use them in the future.

Very well. Kevin called ahead and was here at the time he said he would be. Went right to work and fixed it within an hour. He replaced both cables and rollers.

Called them and they were very professional and cordial. The gentleman came out right on time and he went immediately to work and replaced my rollers as well as tightened up the hinges on my garage door. He did inform me that my rollers were in bad shape and did need replacing. He also went out of his way to attempt to level the garage door. Alas, it was not possible.

Arrived on time, identified broken springs and recommended replace,ment, and com pleted quickly. Completed work as agreed.

It was a little out of my price range. They showed up when they said they would and just charged me a fee for looking at it. They told me that it was going to cost me $1200 to $1500. I just don't have the money now to go and get it fixed, so I'm parking outside! They had good ratings on Angies List and that is why I went with them. But now knowing that their pricing is a bit steep, I probably wouldn't go with them. They were honest and the guy seemed nice. As soon as I got an appointment scheduled, they showed up, so their responsiveness was good. They should be clearer with the coupons that they offer. They said that they would be able to do new rollers and springs, but then it didn't disclaim that they were going to charge me $76 no matter what coming out to look at it. They didn't say free estimate, but the coupon was just kind of confusing.

I needed service right away and they called promptly. They advised me of pricing and availability quickly and someone was out at my house within 2 hrs. He was knowledgable, quick and helpful and explained everything needed for the repair and any maintenance.

Received service for my broken spring in less than 2 hours after calling in. Would recommend them highly.

They came out quickly and it has been running more smoothly since.
