Workmanship was good with reliable technicians, very punctual. The price seems to be high compared to the other providers.

They were prompt and performed the work needed efficiently. We would use them again if needed.

We'd been having trouble with our garage door freezing open, shut, or partially open but thought we had fixed the problem ourselves. Angie's List had a deal for a garage door tune-up and we figured it would be a good idea. Our Metro Door repairman quickly found why we had been troubled in the past and was able to repair the damage and adjust the door, tracks and opener so it functions beautifully - and quietly! We are thrilled!

Of course, the door breaks down on New Years Day. Normally that would be a problem, but I was able to hop on Angies List, find Metro Garage with their great rating, spot the coupon and give them a call. They answered on New Years Day! Hooray. I was given the option for them to come out that day or wait until the next morning. I opted for the next morning as it was cheaper. They came out before 9AM on January 2nd and fixed the entire mess. The door opens and closes quieter than it ever has. Did I mention it was 8 below Zero. That's dedication.

I ordered the $111service when I noticed the garage door was acting up one day. I have used Metro Garage in the past as a commercial customer but this was the first time as a residential customer. When they arrived to maintain the garage door it was made very clear to me that my garage door had a broken spring and needed a better system to lift and close my door properly. To repair the door with what was existing would just not be worth the cost. So I approved the additional repairs to be done. They did not have the parts to complete the door repair, so they left to get them and came right back. They made all the repairs and finished the job very quickly and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. The garage door had a sensitivity situation that prevented the door from closing after they left but was very easy to adjust. I'm happy with the service that I received from Metro Garage. The cost was affordable and the technician did a great job. My door now works better and quieter then it ever has.

I have used Metro Garage Door for a couple of service calls. Had the springs replaced in November of 2011 (SEE UPDATE BELOW). It broke again last night. Seems springs should last longer than 2 years. When I contacted Metro Garage Door, the representative (Chad) was hard to communicate with and was not helpful. I mentioned that they had replaced the spring a couple years ago. He did not offer anything, except that they would not be able to look at it for 3 days. UPDATE: Got a call from Metro Garage Door. Their representative said that they replaced cables in November of 2011. Springs were last replaced in 2008. We discussed whether 5 years was an appropriate length of time for springs to last. The representative said that, depending on usage, 5 years may not be an unreasonable lifespan for garage door springs. The representative apologized for their inability to provide quick service, and seemed genuinely interested in customer satisfaction. Based on my conversation with the representative, I raised the rating for Metro Garage Door.

Metro repaired my sagging garage door which wasn't closing properly. The scheduling was easy and they were able to fit my schedule. The tech, Tom, was right on time, was very helpful in explaining things, made good recommendations about the value of repair vs replacement, and executed a fix in no time. They bill by the quarter hour, and rather than just rounding up and wasting the 10 minutes left in the final period, he lubed my garage door, gave me some more advice, and helped me get a wireless controller set up. |The parts were a bit pricey, but I'm guessing in line with other companies. Given the great service, I would use them again.

I called about 7pm on a Friday, they had someone at my door before 9am Saturday. Scott quickly assessed the problem, gave a solution, recommended maintenance (lube door), and quoted a price. The Angie's List coupon saved us some money which helped cover the cost of the additional lube service. He was done in 30 minutes and the door was better than new. The tech gave some positive feedback on our garage door and left everything as he found it. I have no hesitation recommending this company and would use them again.

A cable broke on our garage door at 7PM on a weeknight along with other issues to the door itself. Called and reached a friendly after-hours operator right away. Asked for emergency service rates. Fee was for 2 hours minimum. Turns out to be one of the cheaper emergency rates. Thanked her for the quote (she also quoted parts I mentioned, such as a fixing a broken cable). She was very courteous and interested and had the information needed for me to decide I should try to get by until a regular service call. Called the St. Paul office at 8AM the next morning. Mentioned my issues. This lady simply stated 'we're currently booking out to Tuesday' (5 days from now). No mention of possible same-day service after I mentioned it and it's alluded to on their site. With her tone and lack of comments she seemed very disinterested in getting my business or dealing with phone calls. Similar to one other review I saw here.

I can't say enough about how pleased I was with the service I received. Will, my technician, did an amazing job, never trying to upsell me anything. I was so happy with the first impression of the company that I asked if they could do our 2nd door during this service call. After checking with the office, to make sure it would be possible, we were able to do that one too . I appreciate the fact that he checked and no other customer was left waiting because of my work. Professional, personable, easy going, it was a pleasure to work with him and Metro Garage Door Co. I have purchased a number of "deals" from other companies for other services and the 1st thing out of their mouths when they arrive is what is NOT covered, what they will NOT do, and what additional charges will apply. That was certainly not the case here. The deal covered exactly what they said it did and there were no additional unexpected charges or upsells. I couldn't be happier with them and their service. I have a 3rd small garage door that needs to be replaced and they will be the 1st company I call for an estimate.

Based on the Angie's List reviews and rating, I scheduled an appointment with Metro Garage. Unfortunately something came up at work and I had to reschedule the original appointment for a couple weeks out. My service window was Noon-5:00 today, but nobody showed up. So I called the office, and the woman who answered the phone could find no record of the appointment. She could find the initial appointment, but had no work order or any paperwork suggesting that the appointment had been rescheduled. She also said that her dispatcher had left for the day (it was nearly 5:00 when I called), and she couldn't find anything on "his disaster of a messy desk". I calmly expressed my disappointment at having lost a half-day of work (since I had to be home) for nothing. She offered a rather unconvincing apology, and to reschedule for the next day. I then told her that perhaps I would seek out a different company to service my garage, since they apparently couldn't even manage their calendar. She said, "Okay," and hung up on me. I might have considered trying this company one more time (given the high praise here on Angie's List) if the person in their office had been a little more apologetic and friendly. Instead it seemed as though she couldn't care less if she secured my business. In fact, I was left with the impression that I had somehow irritated her, or that she was irritated by something and taking it out on me. This company's repair technicians must be responsible for the high ratings here, because their office management certainly is not deserving of it.

The springs broke on the garage door as we were dealing with an emergency medical issue. I called and asked for emergency service. Within two hours it was fixed and we could deal with other issues.

On a Monday morning, the garage door would only open about a foot. I found Metro Garage Door on Angie's list and placed a call to them. I was quoted a price of $198 for replacing both springs and an arrival window of 10 am to 2 pm. The installer arrived during the scheduled time slot and replaced both springs at the quoted price. The work was done quickly and everything was cleaned up. The garage door works now!

Metro Garage Door replaced my old masonite one with a new insulated lighter weight steel door with windows. The salesman was pressure free, and the install went just as planned.

I had a great experience from METRO GARAGE DOOR. They explained the different options available and the pros and cons of each and let me make the decision, no pushing. The door was installed by a knowledgeable technician and it works and looks wonderful. I had such a great experience that I am going to use then to install an opener at my son's house. I recommend METRO GARAGE DOOR.

Dana arrived at about 9 AM in the 8-noon window and, after I showed him what was broken, promptly began repairs. About twenty minutes later, he had replaced the two broken springs and tuned up the garage door opener. After I witnessing how much better the garage door opened and closed, I realized I probably had a broken spring since last winter. The door opens so much smoother and quieter now! Dana was friendly, polite, and professional. I appreciate his explanation of why and how he adjusted the door opener because I now better understand what I should do.

We bought a $111.00 coupon to service the garage door mechanism, but after conferring with the serviceman, decided to replace the door opener as well. He took time to explain how the new opener works. We are very pleased with the new system.

Showed up on time and got right to work. Put in new garage door opener in about 1 hour. It works great.We are very satisfied.

We got careless and did not pull the car in far enough and when we closed the garage door it hit the car bumper and the door got knocked out of its tracks. This happened on a Saturday night. We tried to repair it ourselves on Sunday and made it worse. We looked on Angie's List and decided to call Metro Garage Door. They had an answering service that took the information and assured us someone would call Monday morning. The answering service provided pricing for emergency service if we needed it repaired that same day or regular pricing. Metro called bright and early on Monday morning and were able to come out that same day. They showed up when promised, fixed the door very quickly and gave us a couple of tips. Great service at a reasonable price.

Our detached two-car garage had an older, rotting wooden door. It was easy to set up a time for an estimate. Larry arrived promptly for the estimate and was very friendly. On the scheduled date for the replacement, Will from Metro Garage Door called around 9:45 to let me know he would arrive soon. After re-measuring everything, he discovered that he needed one slightly larger panel, so went to pick that up and returned soon. He finished installation while I was at work and the new door looks great and works well!

Garage doors always fail at the worst possible time. Never on a sunny day when you have nothing else to do and you can sit around and wait for a repairman. I was heading out of town and my wife had to work. When the garage door started to go up about a foot and then go back down, I knew it was trouble. This was, of course, the night before I left town, at about 8PM, in the rain. I managed to get the door open manually and get the car into the garage. Then I searched Angie's list for a highly-recommended garage door service company that provided 24x7 service. I selected Metro, called them and asked if they could get someone out the next day to look at it. They quoted me two time windows - 8:00 to Noon or Noon to 4:00. I said it didn't matter to me, as long as he could work on it without anyone home. I gave them my cell phone number and credit card number, then hit the road the next morning. About four hours into my trip, I got a call. He was at the garage and ready to check it out. I walked him through getting into the garage, he checked the door, and in about 10 seconds knew what was wrong. He offered to fix it for about $150. I asked how much a new one would be, since the current one was 20+ years old. He quoted me about $430 installed, with the wireless remote outside the garage door. I agreed. He asked what code I wanted the remote control set to, and then told me he would leave the two car transmitters on the step going into the house. When my wife got home from work, the garage door was fixed and the new openers were there waiting for her. Great service!
