Randy was friendly, punctual, incredibly helpful and full of tips on how to extend the life of my garage door and it's parts. He performed the services I asked and as I've actually said 5 years ago when Metro Garage came to replace our 1940 garage door with an updated door, I would absolutely call them again for any of my garage door needs!

New suspension springs installed and got rid of old one. Tighten up all screws, etc. on garage door. Was very pleased with the technician professional manner and knowledge of what I needed and what had to be done. I would definitely hire them again.

I am disappointed with the service. The technician did not do proper diagnosis and did not have tools to repair. But they charged me $75 for just showing up and this was also not informed prior when I scheduled appointment. I would not recommend this company for service

We have attempted to contact this customer by phone and they have not responded. Upon reviewing this situation, Our Metro technician determined that the customer needed a new opener. Unfortunately he had completed prior jobs earlier that day and was out of openers on his truck. So he was unable to complete the customer’[Member Information Removed] job and the wanted to think about the quoted price. The tech charged them for the service call and had they called us back to proceed they would have been given credit for their new opener in the amount of the service call charge as is our usual practice. We appreciate this customer giving us the opportunity to help them with their garage door needs. Unfortunately, they chose not to proceed with our proposed new opener. You guys absolutely suck. I just wanted to let you know that you guys completely ruined my weekend last weekend. I called for an appointment for 2 springs to be fixed on October 17 for a Saturday. I made the appointment for the only Saturday I had free for like 3 weeks for November 2nd. I called back Thursday October 31 to verify that I had an appointment, and it was verified. I then waited all day and no one showed up, or even called to let me know that I would not be getting service. Trying to stay calm, I waited until after 4 and called but got after hours answering service, and they told me they are not Employed at Metro. I was hoping that the technician was just running late, and I would hear that they are on their way, but got tied up somewhere. The answering service could not tell me anything. I called back in this morning, and the operator was combative, and did not offer an apology for the appointment being missed. She was completely rudde, and I asked what could be done to make it right? She offered me service tomorrow. That's not the point. I work in Hugo, and live in Bloomington. It's an hour drive to get one way of the other. This is absolutely ridiculous. She did not offer a discount or any other offering. If this is how business is done, and people are not valued to lose an entire day waiting from 8AM to 4PM and not even a call or apology. You will not have my business or a recommendation from me in the future. This company does not value customers at all. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

He declined this offer since he had found another company to do his project This problem occurred because our appointment order was misplaced, something that rarely happens. Overall the job was done correctly, but there was a lack of attention to detail when finishing up. The installer failed to install the handle on the inside of the door that allows raising and lowering when disconnected from the garage door opener. This made it very inconvenient when I was painting the door to match my trim. I will ask them to send the handle and a couple of bolts. Second, the weather stripping looked like it was slapped on. There were gaps that required me to file in the gaps with caulk. I'm not the best caulker which takes away from the appearance. The installer admitted he was experienced, but new to Metro. They need to do a little more training on attention to details. The little things matter.

Metro Garage did the work and guaranteed nails used would not rust since we were installing a new garage floor. They rusted. Company would not redo the work and put in non-rusting nails. After complaining to BBB, company agreed to make good. They scheduled a time and never showed up.

We responded to this customer request and replaced their bottom seal and the nails used to attach it to their garage door. This was an unusual situation since the nails which we originally used were galvanized and should not have rusted. Several of the nails did on their edge. The replacement nails used were a different product and galvanized. They should not rust. I started happy considering the sales guy only recommended to do the doors and not replace the motor, belt, pulley, cable, spring and sensors. Also, while we waited for the install they immediately came out to ensure our current door was able to open and shut. After the install, the safety sensors didn't work. I worked with Metro and a resolution to inspect and repair a small kink in the wiring made this a overall great experience. Thanks, guys.

One to two garage door springs broke one the weekend. Both were replaced by Advanced Garage Door in 2016 with a 5 year warranty. I called the "emergency" number on Saturday and was told they don't come out on weekends. Apparently Advanced Garage Door has merged with Metro. Warning: a) their warranty only covers parts, b) the customer must produce the receipt, c) They do not have records. I'm going with Twin City Garage Doors.

I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! We had their technicians out on 3 occasions over the last few months to determine why the garage door opener they installed would not function reliably. On the third occasion they replaced the keypad unit on the outside of our home. We paid for each of these visits promptly, including the cost to replace the keypad. The garage door would still not open reliably when using the remote devices or the keypad. We had the technician out a final time on Monday, April 1st, 2019. After a 15-minute service call the technician demanded payment of a $75.00 service fee. My wife told him she was going to wait to see if in fact they addressed the problem this time, and that frankly we should not have to continue to pay service calls on a problem with their system that they have been unable to fix. Today is Monday, April 8th, 2019. We received a letter today from Metro Garage Door dated April 1st which states they have been unable to collect their $75.00 service fee, and that they have called several times with no returned phone call. The letter goes on to threaten legal action, and to file a mechanic’s lien against the property if we do not respond within 5 days from the date of the letter. The postmark on the envelope is Friday, April 5th. Keep in mind, the date of the service call was April 1st. On the same day they claim to have called us several times and that we did not respond, so they immediately wrote a letter threatening legal action and a mechanic’s lien if we do not respond within 5 days. Then they did not mail the letter until April 5th, thereby ensuring we could not respond within their deadline. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with the Minneapolis Department of Business Licenses and Consumer Services tomorrow. I merely ask this of anyone reading this review. Is this the type of organization you want to do business with? I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT IF I COULD DO IT OVER AGAIN!

We have responded to this customer’s concerns and resolved this complaint We had identified the customer problem that was initially caused by them when they put LED bulbs in their garage door opener. This produced interference with their remote and keypad We solved the problem by changing the bulbs to incandescent ones and they refused to pay us for the service call at that time. After the technician reported they refused to pay for the service call, our office staff person called the customer to discuss the matter with them, but they hung up on her. Had they been willing to talk to us, this matter would have been settled at that time. Unfortunately they preferred to give us an unfavorable review without giving us a chance to talk to them. We have since talked to the customer, heard their concerns and responded to them in writing. We were afraid that we would have to replace the entire, door, tracks, etc. The guy came out and was able to get it back on the track and bend it more of less back into shape. He also replaced the rubber seal at the bottom of the door to even out the contact between the door and the ground. I am thrilled becuase form the outside, you would never know what had happened. From the inside, there are a few cosmetic damages to the door structure, but it is not critical to the intergrity of the door and so minimal compared to what it looked like before Metro Garage Door came out! We have used them before and they are always able to come out quickly. Within 24 hours of my stupid mistake, it has been fixed!

Tony, the installer was wonderful to work with, and I was happy for two days. On the third day, the automatic light on the opener failed to work. When I contacted Metro, I was told that, most likely, the light bulb was burned out and that they have no responsibility. I was further informed that the trucks do not carry new light bulbs and that the installer would have installed the old bulb. I told the manager that I would gladly have supplied a new bulb had I been informed that they did not provide one. The Metro manager said that that they would have to schedule a service call to remedy the problem and that I would be charged for that! I told him that I would not recommend their company to others. This is ridiculous! I cannot climb up to replace the bulb myself, and I should have been informed about this issue ahead of time. The only reason I gave B's was that I did not want Tony to bear the brunt of this stupid policy by giving an F rating.

Will arrived as expected and began repairs to replace safety cables that had rusted through -- although I worried his hands would freeze in the 18 degree weather! And as Will worked, I realized there were a couple of other deferred garage door repair items to fix and Will took those requests in stride and fixed those too. Broken Springs were replaced. I was also offered a savings if I replaced the springs on the second door. Due to age of springs I chose that option. The door was also tuned up. Very pleased with the work and responsiveness of Metro Garage Door.
