Jan 29 Thursday eve 7PM arrived home and pulled car in garage and closed door, bang, and garage door broken, cannot open. Friday AM I called my garage door company (TCGDC) and they said cannot fix till Tuesday. Friday AM I called Metro Garage Door and they said they could fix it today. They called and arrived before noon Friday. I could not believe how fast the tech, Randy, replaced all cables, rusty parts and cables and had everything working within 45 minutes. This guy knew his business, unbelievable, if I ran a business this is the guy I want to work for me.

The service was great and they came out immediately.

Will was very prompt and clear on what he was going to do. When he finished, he showed me exactly what he did, some things that I will have to fix in the near future, and told me about different types of new garage doors.

I called Metro on Thurs evening Dec 18 and was surprised when they answered the phone. I had no idea they had emergency service. I didn't need evening service and scheduled a technician to come the next morning between 8 & 12. He called on his way and got here at 8:15 and in 15 min explained my options. I chose to replace the entire door (rather than just 2 panels) and he adjusted my door opener so my car could remain in the garage and my door opener would still work. I scheduled the install for Dec 30 and that went very well. Again, he called before arriving and was pleasant and efficient and professional. The horizontal weather stripping had cracked in the cold during the install and he came back the next afternoon to replace it and put in the remaining vertical weather stripping. The price was very reasonable for the quality and professionalism of the service provided.

My garage door opener would not close and I called Metro and they came out the same day. I was very happy at such a quick response. He called 20 min before arriving which is very professional and appreciated. He did a full maintenance service and explained what was wrong and what he did to fix it. It didn't take long but he was pleasant, efficient, and effective which is a winning combination.

On Friday, I came home from lunch to find my garage door would only open about a foot before it stopped and closed. After multiple tries to get the door open, I inspected the garage door and found that one of the torsion springs had split in two. I consulted Angie's List and found Metro Garage Door Co. By the time I called for an appointment, it was almost time for their office to close so we scheduled an appointment for the next day, Saturday. I was disappointed that they could not provide a specific appointment time but, instead said they would be at my house between 8 Am and 4 PM. (This is why I rated punctuality as a B.) On Saturday, when they called, the proscribed 20 min. before arrival, it was about 8:30 AM. That made me very happy to get this resolved in the morning. Kyle arrived, was very courteous and worked very quickly. Upon inspection of the door, he said it appeared one spring had already been replaced. The one not replaced is the one that failed. I used the coupon Metro Garage Door had available on Angie's List to replace both springs for $189. This included the springs, labor, and the visit. Wow. What a deal! After installing the springs and making sure everything worked properly, Kyle indicated the door, opener, tracks, hinges, rollers etc. were in good condition and if properly maintained should last several more years. He showed me how to maintain the door through regular lubrication of the hinges, springs, rollers, cable etc. Thank you Metro Garage Door Co. for fast response and fast, quality work.

Our existing opener was not functioning. I called Metro Garage Door at about 9:30 am, the service guy came by about 1 pm the same day. He went over the situation, what was wrong with the current opener (stripped gears) and gave us the options with a firm quotation. We went ahead and within 2 hours he had installed the new opener. It worked fine also with the keypad. All was done on time, in the quoted price and at at about 5 F outside temperature.

spring broke at night, went online to make an appointment, they called in the morning and were out by 11am so that I could get my car out of the garage. Replaced the spring and did a complete checkup on the rest of the door. Used an Angie's List coupon and saved $20.

Very fast service. Was promised a visit within 0 to 5 hours and he arrived in 1 hour. Friendly tech, explained everything. Price seemed fair for level of service and speed of arrival. I'd recommend.

Garage door wouldn't open, was too heavy/working hard for motor to open. Called on 12/16, was able to schedule someone out right away next morning to arrive between 8-noon. On 12/17 repair specialist called at about 10am, 15 minutes in advance of arriving. Arrived and inspected garage door, stated repair cost and repaired/replaced springs, rebalanced door so now working. He discussed that the large 2-car garage door was probably heavier from over past few warmer, drizzly, almost 100% humidity days 'soaked up ' moisture and was much heavier than normal. He recommended to replace with metal door in future, but since condition of wood is still good, I opted to just have springs replaced and rebalance door again. He completed spring replacement, balance, and lubed rollers, all fixed within about 30 minutes. I'm happy with responsiveness and door is working now.

I initially called because my old garage door cable/spring had snapped. The tech came out and quoted what the cost of that repair would be. I then asked for a quote on an entire new garage door since mine was old and not insulated. I decided to purchase the new door. The new installation went smoothly and I am very happy with the new door. Each person I dealt with was professional and friendly.

I was having some ongoing trouble with our garage door. I didn't know how damaged my door and tracks were, so I called to get an estimate. Their Angie's List profile DOES indicate "FREE ESTIMATES". So, silly me, I assumed asking for an estimate was no problem since I didn't know what was going to be done nor what it would cost (I'm honestly not a garage door expert by any means). So I called for an estimate saying that ideally I'd like to repair the door but it might need to be replaced, I honestly wasn't sure. They said they could send sales people to sell me a new garage door with samples and everything, or they could send a technician who could give me a repair estimate or recommend and sell a door. Well, the technician obviously is what I needed. So we scheduled that with a (rather large) 4 hour time window of arrival (larger than 2 other providers I also contacted). They arrived and gave an estimate and then said that there's a $70 estimate fee if I don't have them do any work. WHAT?? Where did that come from? No one EVER gave me any idea that there was any sort of estimate fee and this was certainly NOT explained over the phone when I called to get the estimate. But now, after I have them out, either I have to pay $70 for the estimate (and get no service for my money), or I can pay $110 for a tune up. Well gee... what do you think I'm going to pick? I was really annoyed by this, but I asked them, "I wasn't expecting to pay right now, but since I found you on Angie's List coupons/deals I can take advantage of?" He said there was a spring coupon to replace springs, but my springs were fine, so I couldn't use that. So imagine my surprise when I get back to my computer and realize that there WAS and Angie's list coupon to get a tune up PLUS new roller for the same price that I paid. Nice... Can you tell I'm frustrated? Not done yet... I call their office to take care of payment via CC over the phone and after giving her my info, I wanted to explain to her that there was a bit of a miscommunication on their part in that they never told me of the estimate fee and that I was a little put off by it. Their response for failing to tell this to me? "You know, nothings free in this world". What?! Seriously?? You messed up and I'm the one that should feel bad for assuming that the estimate was free since you never told me there was a cost and your Angie's list profile states you have "FREE ESTIMATES"? Crazy... and then she insinuated that everyone charges for estimates. Oh really? The other two Super Service Award Winner Garage Door companies I contacted didn't charge me for their estimates. She then didn't believe me and asked me to tell them who they were. Really?? I'm the one that has to prove to HER that her competitors offer free estimates? Unbelievable... I then went on to explain to her that I had another home that did need just a simple tune up and upon successful completion of this one job, I was going to hire the same company to work on the other home. But after this experience, I'm going to contact someone else. This was me giving her a chance to TRY and make it up to me, in some simple way, to show that their actions have consequences, but if they actually feel bad about it, they can make it up in some way if they really want my future business. Her response? "Well I'm sorry you feel that way, but have a Happy Holidays! Bye!". Wow... I was blown away. You can treat your customers like that, but I wouldn't recommend it. Best of luck if you pick this company. I think the technician did a pretty good job, but it's too soon to say for sure. Beware that they do NOT have free estimates.

My experience with them was excellent. They came the same day I bought the Big Deal. It worked out good. They were quick and he was knowledgeable. He was fast and neat. But they were supposed to replace the rollers on the door and they couldn't do that, because he said the rollers were larger and had to be a special size that he didn't have. It sounded like it would be an upcharge, but I didn't get that. Maybe they should put in the Big Deal that it only covers a certain size of rollers. I'm planning to get a new door, and I'm planning on using them for that.

On-Site Service was outstanding. The technician was prompt, friendly and did a great job. However, the company would not honor the 5 year Full Replacement warranty that I had on existing springs from them (4 years ago). I had the original receipt and coupon that showed 5 year full replacement warranty. However they said since I did not have an additional warranty certificate, which I believe I never got, I had to pay full price again in order to get the 5 year Full warranty going forward. This time I was given an additional warranty certificate. I was disappointed to learn that their records of my previous purchase and service was not showing my warranty. This should be in their records with all my previous service calls. Their on-site service is exceptional but I do not trust their warranty policies.

From start to finish it went very well. For a Monday morning following a long, cold weekend, I thought my call regarding a broken spring would take a long time to get scheduled and fixed. The opposite was true. The phone was answered promptly, a follow up call was made to me confirming the time and Kyle showed up right on time that same morning. He was very professional and courteous and did a great job.

Garage door would only go up a couple of inches. I pulled the manual red cord but door would not go up manually. Called Metro around 12 noon and the woman said they had a couple of openings left in afternoon. She said someone would be there between 1 and 5. Randy arrived a while before 4, quickly diagnosed the problem that spring was broken and needed replacement. Gave me price. I said go ahead. He also did a 23 point safety and maintenance check on the door and opener. The opener wasn't where it should have been so he moved installed it on some wood moulding around entry door. Really thorough and efficient and he gave me a 60 month guarantee on the new spring. Very satisfied with service.

They did a great job. The technician was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He said he had been working on garage doors for 10-12 years. He was prompt and was even kind enough to wait 10-15 minutes for me to get back home. I appreciated his patience and their pricing was reasonable. It was very easy to schedule the service and the lady on the phone was very professional as well.

The technician came out right on time. He looked at the doors, greased them and reset the torque on one. He also lined upped the sensor on one of the doors and tighten the bolts on both. While he was doing all this he discussed what things I can do to help the doors run well as time goes by. Very friendly, very personable. I actually enjoyed the visit. The price was what I was told it would be. No additional costs were ever mentioned.

Our garage door tension springs broke on Saturday and soon after I contacted Metro Garage Door after reading solid reviews. They put me on a brief hold and came back to say the technician would be over shortly. I mentioned the coupon for $20 off tension spring replacement and was told to have the coupon printed, which I did. Jesse arrived about 30-45 minutes later and was extremely polite and friendly. He went over the repair process and said he could also lubricate the door parts for an additional $40, which I declined. He got to work and about 20 minutes later, was done and said everything went fine and he didn't see any other issues. Here's where the service went off the rails... When I presented Jesse with the coupon he stated that for the discounted price they could not provide the normal 5 year parts warranty--just the 30 day parts/labor warranty. No where on the coupon does it say that by accepting this discount the customer forgoes the protection of the 5 year parts warranty. The card he left behind clearly states the parts are covered by a 5 year warranty. It was a pretty obvious and misguided attempt to recoup the mere $20 value of the coupon. I am pretty amazed that a company would risk their reputation with such unethical tactics. FOR A MEASLY $20! Pathetic way to close a deal, when the actual service was solid. Bottom line, there's no way I would call them again for repairs or an upcoming garage door replacement. ----------------- Update: I appreciated the personal call from the business owner to address my feedback and his commitment to improve communication regarding their coupon policies. I have upgraded my rating to reflect an improved outcome.

They knew exactly what was going on, ordered the part, and came to install it. Everything works just fine now.

Overall it went very well. We wanted to see a large sample of Mahogany and our sales person made a special trip to the manufacturer to pick it up. We also had a very knowledgeable and nice installer of our garage doors. Metro guaranteed the best price on Amarr doors and matched a lower quote that we received.

They had a special price online which they would not give me when I talked to a operator. Also I never got to speak to an actual repairman. Just bad answering service. If they answered my call they would of earned my business.

Got quotes from 3 companies all coming within $50 dollars of each other on a roughly $2400 garage door replacement. Picked Metro because they appeared to be the bigger company with a better track record. They were a comedy of errors from day one. Salesman incorrectly measured my smaller door on initial visit. When I called him to tell him I was ready to order, he took my credit card information over the phone and never sent a receipt. A month later technician came to install doors and realized error. Told me they'd have to re-order the door and come out again. Both the person from the office "Bill" and the technician told me my balance left to pay was $1000. Since the technician had installed one door he said the office was demanding more payment. So I gave him a check for $500 and he gave me a receipt saying I paid $500 and had a balance of $500. 3 weeks later company calls again and schedules install of 2nd door which they had re-ordered. I take the day off of work and they call on that day letting me they ordered the wrong size again and had to reorder ANOTHER time. Bill assured me he'd take care of the issue with some money coming back my way. Well 3 weeks later, they did finally come and install the last door and Bill sure came through with a big $50 discount on a $2400 bill. They also told me the sales guy screwed up the original payment and I owed $830 instead of the $500 my last receipt said I owed. I wouldn't go near this inept excuse for a business again to save my life. Plus to boot, I already had weather stripping ripped on my bigger door that's been installed for only 6 weeks and the technician already had to fix that. Way to take care of your customer, Metro So to review: 1. Billing snafu 2. 3 scheduled dates to install 2 doors 3. No receipt on initial down payment. 4. First installed door has rip in weather stripping in less than 2 months.

Technician arrived early and performed visual inspection of the garage door then explained what he was going to do. Then he proceeded to take care of the problem. (Our springs broke the day before and we called MGD to replace them). He had everything done within 30 minutes! The only issue we had was that we lost the ability to open and close the door with all the wireless remotes and he didn't think to check if they did. To his credit, neither did we. So after we realized that, I proceeded to reprogram the car remotes and the wireless remote outside the door. However, the service was excellent. They installed my door and door opener several years ago and I definitively would recommend them.
