Description of Work: The garage door on a home we purchased did not seem to be working property when we visited the property after closing (we live in another state). Contacted and set up appointment to check the door and door repairs or tune-up if necessary - all online and by phone. The young man who came out navigated our lockbox and access to the garage and after testing a couple times, determined that the door was working fine. He did a few little tune-up things, but told us there would be no charge. I would definitely use them again!

Description of Work: I took advantage of a special on Angie's list for new roller wheels and reconditioning of the garage door operation. The gentleman arrived on time. He had to change a broken spring (which turned out to be expensive and not included in the cost, of course). Door worked great - very quiet for a few weeks, but after that it is loud again. After he left, I noticed that one of the railing which the wheels run on is damaged. He must have pried back the railing to get to the wheel and never fixed it. I hope the wheel never decides to run off of the railing at this point.

Description of Work: I took advantage of a Big Deal and was completely satisfied. My double garage door was installed 15 years ago and requires routine maintenance. After the Big Deal tune up, the garage door was aligned properly and lubricated. I was surprised at how noisy it had been operating. This service convinced me that I needed more frequent maintenance. I would definitely use Metro again.

Description of Work: Through Angie's List I requests that the service provider contact me about servicing and repairing my garage door. It has been a week and no contact has been made. I will be looking elsewhere for service

Description of Work: Garage door was stuck about halfway open, twisted, and 2 rollers had come out of the door. The cable came off the pulley of one of the torsion springs. This happened in the early evening. I called another company first and left a msg. After getting no phone call back I called Metro. After discussing the problem and having the after hours charges explained, a most helpful person suggested I may want to schedule a morning appointment, which.I did. The technician was on time, courteous, and professional. He quickly got the door untwisted, the rollers reinstalled, and then got he cable back on the pulley. After that he started looking for the cause of the problem. A piece of insulation had come loose from the ceiling and had gotten caught between the pulley and the cable on the opposite side of the door. After stapling the insulation back up,all was fine. I would not hesitate to call Metro again for service.

Description of Work: Just checked things over, greased everything. Price was supposed to include new rollers but he said ours were good in fact better quality than new ones would be. Talked through how we could keep it in good shape ourselves. Not sure if we really needed to do this, but sometimes our door gets stuck. Anyway, thought the guy was really nice and informative.

Description of Work: My garage door was not closing properly and I called Metro because they were rated highly on Angie's list. I was more than satisfied with their service. They were very responsive to my need to have this taken care of quickly (it was extremely cold) and came out the next day. The technician, Steve, informed me of what the problem was ( a setting in the box). He adjusted the setting and asked if I would also like to have a general maintenance for $39.00. He explained what this entailed and the value of having it done - but absolutely no pressure. I did choose to have it done and when he completed his work he explained in detail everything that he had done and left me with a list of periodic maintenance and safety checks for garage doors. Steve was on time, professional, friendly and did a great job. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: WE thought garage doors just made lots of noise, well after Metro Gar. Door finished, we realized we had been living with this terrible noise for 9 years...and it was EZ to fix -- at least when you know what you are doing. Now our neighbors can sleep when we come home after 10PM These guys showed up on time, were happy to be working out in the cold and did a great job. I'd use their services again in a heartbeat! Description of Work: I had an electric garage door opener that was not working properly. They could not work on the bad one because it was outdated and didn't have the safety sensor on it so the work that could be done it. I believe that is a safety law. I understand but wish they had told me that before they came out.

Description of Work: Paid for a garage door tune-up that included rollers, lubrication, inspection,etc. The workman indicated that the rollers they had for replacement were not as good as the five year old ones, but offered to simply give them to me in a bag? He then spent ten minutes checking hinges, screws, and cables. Very courteous and professional. My only complaint is that I did not think $99 for ten minutes of inspection was a good value. Nevertheless, I would hire this professional to perform work.

Description of Work: An Angie's List Big Deal offer for an automatic garage door opener, both doors on our garage were inoperable following misuse and abuse by a general contractor's crew. When Dana was finished, both were operating like new.
