Description of Work: On the second on a new garage door, we lost electrical power to the house. When I tried to open the door manually, it was extreamly hard to lift. I had to have help to get the door up. I would assume that the installer should have checked to see if the door was ballanced so that it would be capable of being opened manually. The company was called and a service tech came out (they are within two miles from our house) and ballanced the door for ease of opening the door manaully when electrical power is lost. The charge for the fifteen minutes of time was an excessive $75.00. This charge is unjustified because it should have been adjusted when installed one and one half years age. They calimed that it is not covered under warrany for improper installation. I will never deal with them nor reccommend them to other people. I called [Member name removed] to discuss his concerns about our service. He didn't understand how our warranty works. I explained it to him that the initial installation warranty had lapsed, but that he still had the manufacturer's warranty on the door. He was experiencing his springs losing some tension from the time of the initial installation. This is not uncommon as the springs adjust to the work they have to do in the first year. Usually if there is going to be a problem with the tension it will show up in the first 12 months and would be covered by our installation warranty. He detected this problem a year and 1/2 after the installation and as a result there was a charge for the spring adjustment. We stand by our warranty as stated on the reverse of the receipt we give the customer which states how this situation would be handled.Since we appreciate him being a good customer, and he now knows how the warranty works. I agreed to refund the payment he gave us to make the adjustment to his door. We agreed that this would address his issue and that he would continue to use Metro Garage Door for future garage door needs. Sincerely, Doug Robinson, President

Description of Work: Did tuneup and in the process discovered frayed cables (which they then replaced), and discovered why the opener was not always working - bad circuit board. The guy that diagnosed the problem didn't have a circuit board with him but called in and located one in the warehouse, so another person came out a few hours later and installed it. I thought the service was great, but prices seemed a little high (but I didn't do any comparison shopping so I don't really know)
