The whole installation went very well

The owner came out the day of request. Service was over and above what was expected. He was courteous and kept me informed along the way.

The tech (Kevin) was very prompt and courteous. He explained the work that needed to be done and what the cost of the work would be. He completed the work in about 20 minutes and then went over the work he had done and verified the door's operation. He lubricated the rollers which made a big difference in how quietly the door operated. He recommended the door's hardware be lubricated and checked twice a year but did not pressure me into any additional services. Overall, I was extremely happy with the work done and would use Metro Garage Door again.

The service was fine. It was very good. They did install the garage door initially. So, they were very good. I am very happy with them.

very professional, advised us to keep current rollers as the ones we have are better, and tips on how to get a longer life out of the current door. Initially we thought it might cost more as he found an issue, and it would have been $25 per 15 minutes to diagnose, but he found it quickly and resolved it as part of the call. We may be contacting them again to replace springs, thinking on it!

I have been working with these guys for the past 20 or 30 years. The price was fair.

Very professional, my repair guy was on time and spent time to explain the issues of my garage door. I knew that my garage door needed new rollers, because it was making a lot of noise plus ball bearings were on my garage floor. He also found out that one of my cables was frayed, so he recommended that we replace both on each side of the door. Plus he said that my garage needed a new spring, apparently my previous installer put on a spring he said wasn't rated for how heavy my wooden garage door is, thus putting a lot of strain on my opener belt and gears. I originally bought the $110 tune up through Angie's list (that included the rollers and tune-up) with the additional expense of the spring & cables and labor being an additional $276.

On May 6, 2016 I called Ridge for a new garage door because they had previously done excellent work for me. The phone was answered as Metro and they had a sales person call me, and I told him where he could look at my door. He called me later and said that an extra strong Lifetime Warranty door would cost $1,525, which was more than anyone else was getting. I agreed to buy it because of the Lifetime Warranty, and told him to fax the Contract to me, and he said he would "drop it in the mail". On May 10th I talked to him again and asked for the Contract. He said to would fax it or mail it. Today is May 13th and I never received the Contract. I paid Metro almost 50% down when I bought the door. The door was installed May 12th and I had to pay the rest immediately on the spot. I found out that only the hardware (whatever that consists of) has a Lifetime Warranty. So I paid for a door with a Lifetime Warranty but apparently did not get it. BEWARE of companies that tell you what they will do but refuse to put it in writing!!

Arrived and didn't know what promotion I was referring to. He quoted me a price higher than special and a 2nd opener was extra, taking the existing opener down was another fee, hauling it away was another fee, I expected the exterior keyboard to be extra but not THAT much extra. I went in and got my laptop to show him the promotion on their website but by this time I decided I didn't trust that he'd find something more as he was doing the install that would also be extra and sent him off without doing the work. It makes me wonder if the spring replacements they did on BOTH our garage doors last winter was necessary when they did a tune up. We own 15 single family rental properties in the western suburbs so I work with a lot of service providers. I don't mind paying a fair price for solid work but this kind of business practice isn't acceptable.

Our garage door failed to open. I called at 7:45 a.m. My request was to get someone out in the morning, preferably after 9:30 a.m. At 9:30, I received the call confirming that a technician was on his way. After inspecting the situation, he gave me details on either repair or replacement with no pressure to do either. After asking how old the system was (over 23 years old), I opted to replace the system. By 11 a.m. I was enjoying our new, quieter garage door opener motor. He left no mess, tied everything down neatly and was exceedingly polite. Definitely will call them again when we are ready to do more upgrades.

It went great. Jeff did a beautiful job, only took about 30 min. The inside of my garage door and the tracks are spotless and it opens and closes smoothly. I was pleased by the reasonable price. Metro also did a great job of installing it 5 yrs ago, providing me with a good-looking, quality product.

They were helpful and responded quickly. He was efficient and friendly. I would use them again.

I called at 12:15 pm on New Years Eve day to request a repair call. The door spring had broken. Since it was New Years Eve day, I figured it wouldn't be scheduled until Monday. The scheduler said someone would be out that day and would call 20 minutes before arrival. 5 minutes after hanging up, the tech called to say he was on the way. He got here in 10 minutes, explained the problem, replaced the spring and tuned up the door. All in about 25 minutes. Total time from when I called to when the repair was completed was 45 minutes. Amazing!

Everything went well. Someone at the call center answered my call at 9:00 at night and got me scheduled to repair my broken cables the next day. Steve showed up promptly, worked quickly, and was very informative regarding the work that needed to be done as well as maintenance he performed. He pointed out that my spring shaft was starting to come out of one of my bearings. He was able to adjust the shaft and secure it so a future failure could be avoided. Overall, I am very happy with the experience!

Same day appointment. Work took about 30 minutes. Lubricated and adjusted the door in additional to replacing the springs. Great overall experience.

Both experiences went well. The representative/tech was punctual, knowledgeable and I felt guided me towards appropriate repair. I would use them again and recommend them.

The opener and springs were installed in February 2015. I noticed several problems with the door's operation that began about six months later, but was unable to attribute it to the work done by Metro until I operated the door manually a few weeks ago and noticed that it didn't behave as expected. I lost power to the door and noticed that it would not stay all the way open or all the way closed when operated manually. I called Metro and asked them to come out an take a look. The tech conceded that they had put the wrong springs (too strong) on the door. When I asked that they change them at no cost he said they would not. He said that they offer only a 30 day warranty and he indicated that they were 'good enough' and that the new opener could more than handle this. When I asked why they'd got it wrong, he said that they generally don't carry scales on their trucks. I had noticed two other problems with the garage door since their original install. The door would rub against the header during the last part of closing. It was bad enough to scrape paint off of the top of the door. In addition, grease began to collect at the top center of the top panel. As I studied the door's operation before their visit it became clear that the door was rubbing against the greased opener track. It's now clear that, because the spring was too strong, with the the door being suspended entirely from the bottom brackets on each side when closed, the sides locked into the track, and the hockey stick pushing the door against the overpowered springs in order to close it, that the door had simply become bowed. This had caused it to rub the header and to rub against the track. The tech conceded neither, and indicated he believed it could be any number of things.

Our repairman arrived on time and was very helpful in evaluating the problem and offering solutions. He replaced our old opener and showed us how to use all of the features very quickly and politely. We were impressed by the prompt service and the wonderful job he did!

Fantastic! I made an appointment for the same day that I called. They came out, fixed the problem, and tuned up the door. I was most impressed by the fact that they could have recommended a new garage door opener. Instead, they pinpointed the problem and even mentioned that a new door opener was not necessary.

The service technician was on time and completed the service. My main concern was that the rollers were super squeaky and he got them taken care of. He also pointed out a potential future issue with a rusting cable on my second garage door. I opted not to have the cable replaced since I rarely use that garage door but appreciated that he pointed it out so that I can keep it lubricated and keep an eye on it.
