Description of Work: These guys moved the five of us out of our St. Louis park home into our Minnetonka home in about 5 hours. They were neat, and took care of our furnishings, wrapping everything in thick moving blankets. They put down drop cloths and were considerate of making sure it was done right. We've used them since then for a smaller job- moving a piano into the house and had a similar great experience. Very patient, efficient workers. Very happy homeowners 👍

Description of Work: A-1 movers picked up my furniture at the end of June and stored it until I moved to my new home in Mid-August. The pickup went smoothly and quickly. They were professional and I was completely satisfied. The delivery in August is where my dissatisfaction arises. A number of pieces of our furniture (this is from a 4300 sq ft home) need access to electricity. Many are modular pieces requiring assembly and electrical access. As they were removed and placed in the home none of this assembly or electrical access was taken care of. That necessitated the disassembly of several large pieces of furniture and their movement, rearrangement and reassembly. When I spoke with the company owner Fred late, he informed me my expectations were too high and that his personnel were not responsible for either ensuring the pieces were assembled correctly or ensured they were plugged in where necessary. I do not "expect" to have to move or disassemble large pieces of very heavy furniture after I've paid thousands of dollars to have someone else do it for me! If the delivery people were not planning on assembling or placing this furniture in a functional fashion, I would have been happy to do it myself before they placed the furniture. Instead I found myself having to rearrange large pieces of furniture myself, by myself. Not what my 66 year old body wanted to hear. Can I have my tip back?

Description of Work: WE MOVED HOMES ON 4/28/01. WE MOVED FROM COTTAGE GROVE TO STILLWATER. THE ENTIRE JOB TOOK LESS THAN 2 1/2 HOURS - FROM THE MOMENT THEY PULLED INTO OUR DRIVEWAY IN COTTAGE GROVE TO THE MOMENT THEY LEFT IN STILLWATER! IN TOTAL MORE THAN 215 PIECES WERE MOVED (BOXES, FURNITURE, ETC.)
