They guaranteed me the quote was high and we would come in under. They went over estimate. They were great at the beginning of the day, by the end they were tired and just put stuff wherever. Found bedroom boxes in garage, garage boxes in kitchen and they were all clearly labeled.

Job was completed on short notice, faster than anticipated, and, most importantly, flawlessly! Very happy with the customer service and the service.

Rodney and his partner did a great job moving for us on May 7th. On time, very helpful and performed the services quickly and carefully. Brian was also very responsive to my initial RFQ and followup call the day before the scheduled move. Absolutely recommend this company.

The day before they move the arrived promptly at 8:00 am and proceeded to identify what went into storage and what was to be moved to new address. They securely packed and identified externally the contents of each box (kitchen dishes, Plates, bedroom, bathroom etc). The next day, move day, they loaded the truck and delivered to new address and placed boxes in the rooms we identified and took the rest to storage. A very painless experience. The movers were professional and courteous. The cost came in less then the preliminary estimate. I would strongly recommend them for moves.

We had two different moving crews take out furniture and bring are items back. Both crews did great work and even moved some other items and set up the new bed. The guys on both moves a did great job! We’re very Impressed with A-1 moving!

What a great company to work with! They showed up on time and worked really hard. We had a really heavy piano and they moved with out a scratch on it.

Originally planned on moving out from the old house and in to the new house on the same day, but at the last minute our closing was delayed by 2 days. A-1 loaded up 2 trucks and juggled their schedule to try and avoid unloading/reloading them which would incur additional cost. They did not charge any extra at all for just parking the loaded trucks for 2 days. In the end they had to unload and reload one truck, which cost an extra $760, but unloading went very smoothly. The movers were very careful with placing things exactly where we wanted, and then offered before they left to reposition things again to get things just right. The final cost was at the high end of the estimate, after subtracting the additional $760 of course, but with all the rescheduling and hassles they had to endure we're quite satisfied.

They were great. Arrived on time, finished the job 2.5 hours less than quoted, nothing was broken or stolen and they were $500.00 under the estimate!

They showed up on time and moved what we asked. There were no real issues. However, they did need to be prompted to put down runners in carpeted rooms and hallways to reduce dirt.

Well, but after the move I found some scratches in the hardwood floors at our old house that we were selling. In fairness I didn't contact them as I travel a lot and didn't notice the scratches till a couple of weeks after the move, and then was under time constraints to get the house staged and on the market.

Their friendly crew was right on time and started hauling and loading immediately. They were very careful and efficient at both ends of the move. I recommend these guys!

Our move went exactly as discussed. We have used A-1 Moving several times and would do so again.

Worst experience of my life! For some reason my first draft didn't save and it took me over an hour to write. The owner Fred I met with it my home, looked at everything I was moving or needed moved and gave me 3 prices. One to move my items another a monthly fee to store them and the third price was to move my items back to the new house or wherever within the Twin Cities. The movers showed up over half couldn't speak English and we're very rough with my items. They dropped our foosball table in the backyard which is where it's at until the truck was full and then they put that in last. The Christmas ornaments were roughly stacked on a dolly and rolled out. My realtor and I both explained they were fragile the guy acted like he understood and kept going. I was told by Fred pictures would be wrapped as well as the mattress and protected and when the movers showed up they actually refused to take any pictures and said they couldn't due to liability reasons. The mattress was not wrapped it was covered in blankets and when I picked it up it was uncovered sitting straight up as is in this wooden crate they put our things in. I was told by Fred they would put things in the front so that if we needed to get at items would be able to. This as well was untrue as when I called to try to get our things he said it would be very expensive because he'd have to have his men move our things forward. We needed winter clothes so my kids could go to the bus stop dressed appropriately. He quoted us a price and then they took more than $100 a month more than what I was told without any notice. I was then told they had more items then he thought. When in reality they took less because they refused to take any pictures. I got my things out as soon as possible because of the overcharge and when I showed up things were missing, damaged Etc. Fred the owner refused to deal with me and fact he called the police to have us removed from his property and would not deal with me when I asked how do we go about filing a claim or getting the damaged items repaired. I also made sure to tell him things were missing and he got angry and said if I didn't leave he was calling the police. I was in no way threatening or angry, but I was frustrated and scared because all of my things that were important I felt were not cared 4 or returned in the way that they were taken. I am still documenting the damage to this day as all the boxes have not been unpacked or accounted for. Fred had not put my name on my items, but my realtor's home I was not even using anymore but he was billing Us. When I called to try to pick up items we needed I was told he didn't even know who I was even though he met with me at my home. He had all of our items under the realtor's name in my address. When I noticed the damage and items missing he became angry and ordered us off of his property. Again, it was the worst experience of my life and I have things that can't even be replaced because they've been in my family for Generations. The furniture somewhere Antiques and could be refinished however it is very clear now the owner Fred will not work with us so I am having to look into an attorney. I have more photos I can upload if Angie's List or others would like to see. I was told our mattress would be covered and protected as well as our other items which were not. In fact things were going through, opened and disposed of since I can't even find entire boxes. This was the most unprofessional, disrespectful company that I have ever dealt with in my life. If anything comes from this review I hope it's saves another family from the heartache we have had to deal with and are still dealing with.

They were awesome! Nice guys and very productive. My daughter was thrilled and we would not hesitate to use them again.

Great, they took good care of the furniture and the space they were moving things out of and into. They were friendly and easy to have in the house as we worked on unpacking.

I was having carpet updated in 2 bedrooms. The furniture literally had to be moved from bedroom to living room. Joe & Jose arrived on time, moved the furniture, they were fast & efficient. I asked for Joe & Jose to come back to move the furniture beck into the bedrooms. They could not have been more cooperative. They worked extremely hard to get everything back in its proper place. One surprise - Jose & Jose move furniture for 1:45minutrs. I was charged for 2:15. I was never told that charges start the minute the movers leave the warehouse. Surprise!! I would highly recommend A1 - Sorensen!!

Crew arrived on time (actually early) and never stopped to catch their breath. The entire job was done in half the time they estimated. Our two man crew were very careful with everything they moved and easy to work with. Very respectful and professional. They called and confirmed the day before that they were coming and again before they arrived. Never had to sign a contract, but everything was exactly as they said. Would definitely hire them again.

A-1 movers were fabulous. They came through with everything they said they would, and even came in with a final amount due under the estimate. The people on the trucks we friendly, courteous and worked hard. i would definitely recommend A-1 to anyone moving in the Twin Cities metro area.

*** Run Away *** My customer experience with A-1 was awful. I would not recommend A-1 to anyone on Angie's List, nor my friends and family. (1) The move day began with the move team arriving late. I was told the movers would arrive between 8:00 - 8:30 am. They arrived at my door at 8:36 am. I thought: "Ok, traffic can be slow. They're only 6 minutes behind. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt." But this proved to be a bad omen for what turned out to be an awful customer experience. (2) The job took 3 hours longer than estimated. The move team was slow, disorganized, and did not proactively communicate. I helped carry items and prep’ed all the items by moving them into a hallway. Approximately 5 hours was estimated by A-1's sales team, including 30 minutes for the truck’s “drive time” to and from the site. The total charge was for approximately 8.5 hours. I was expecting the job to be completed between 1 - 2 pm. The job was not finished until 4:30. (3) The job was not finished. Large items were left in the storage locker. I had to make two trips to the storage locker using my own vehicle in order to finish the job A-1 failed accurately scope and complete on-time. (4) The job was 40% over budget. I was quoted approximately $660, the final cost was $1,116. (5) A-1 failed to adequately scope time and cost during the sales call. I clearly explained there would be 2 stops, the furniture I had at the apartment I was moving from, and the size of the storage locker. I asked if 3 movers would be faster and more efficient than 2, I was told "no, it's about the same." This was bad advice. Based on A-1's expertise and experience as a mover, I opted to use 2 movers. After the fact, I was repeatedly told that was “just an estimate”. Lesson learned: Do not trust A-1’s estimates. (6) There was significant damage to my furniture (see the attached pictures). My Crate and Barrel bookshelf was broken and a total loss. My Pottery Barn kitchen table was covered in scratches and dings. What's worse: the move team didn't show me the damage, but avoided the issue by leaving the bookshelf by a dumpster - as if they were doing me some kind of favor. (7) The move team placed items in a disorganized throughout my apartment that made unpacking take longer than expected after they left. The move lead spent most of his time in the truck while the junior team member did all the work. I had to constantly check-up on status. When I inquired with the move lead getting the job done on time, he said “Well, it’s not like we’re taking smoke breaks.” (8) A-1's credit card point-of-sale reader did not except my Wells Fargo Platinum debit card. I promptly checked the balance of my account. I had more than enough funds available to make payment. I asked A-1 for an error code, which they were unable to provide. When I called Wells Fargo, they couldn’t explain why the transaction was not processed. A-1 portrayed this was my fault. I made repeated attempts to contact A-1 to make payment, speaking with Joel and Fred the owners. (9) Never once did A-1 apologize for the experience, bad estimate, damage, nor their poor performance. Instead, they were arrogant and demanding. It's as if A-1 operates under the premise "We're right, you’re wrong. You need to pay us regardless of how bad of job we do." (10) As a matter of reconciliation, A-1's President Fred did offer to reduce the cost to $800. While the price may have been fair adjustment for A-1's slow performance and failed estimation; it did not account for the damage I incurred. (11) The owners were rude, hostile, and threatened to legal action. When I proposed an alternative, I was told by Fred the President they would go no lower than $800, or we’ll go to court. As a result, I’m going to court over this experience. I would prefer to reach a reasonable settlement. So, after this review, I’m going to give A-1 one last chance to apologize, account for all the problems they created for me, and reduce their costs accordingly.

Excellent service. Very nice and friendly movers. They were extremely careful with our items and moved quickly and efficiently.
