Everything went great with A-1 moving, from beginning to end. The estimating process was very helpful. Picking up our moving boxes at the Hopkins location was easy. We received a follow-up confirmation folder of information holding our moving dates. The day of the move from our previous home, our team of movers arrived right on schedule. It was so hot out and they worked hard and fast. All of the guys were extremely kind, helpful and organized. They were very efficient and did an excellent job. They stored our truck overnight and then met us at our new home after our closing the next day to unload. Once again, they did a great job and worked very efficiently. Our total bill came in under our estimate and we had a wondeful, seamless, hassle-free experience from start to finish.

They were great. When you think of movers, you usually don't have good impressions but these guys broke that stereo type. They were on time, and I have never seen a group of four people work so hard. They were careful with items, asked questions when direction was needed, and were professional.

We received an initial estimate for packing and moving from our 1400 sq ft condo to a new house. The person I talked to one the phone was very friendly and was able to give me an in-house estimate. This was very important because we moved last year and I knew that the phone quotes we had received from other companies was way too low as we have a lot of stuff!. The estimate from A-1 was about $3000, which was more like I expected. They charged by the hour which all the local moving companies seemed to do. This made me nervous because the workers could take their time and really run up your bill. We were given a not-to-exceed estimate. Also, the more we did ourselves in terms of packing the less the final bill would be. We were able to pick up all the boxes and packing supplies we needed well ahead of time, so we actually ended up doing 90% of the packing ourselves. This lowered our final bill by more than 50%. On the day of the move, the workers showed up on time and were very friendly. There were 4 guys and they all were fast and efficient. The whole move took about 6 hours and nothing was broken or damaged. The only thing missing was the end of a curtain rod, not a big deal. We were also able to return the unused boxes and the used, broken-down boxes for a return. Overall, the experience was very smooth. The employees at A-1 are excellent, very helpful and they all spoke english!

We had a good experience with them. We didn't use them to move very much. They did everything we asked. We didn't have any problems with them.

Fred, one of the owners, visited our home to prepare the bid. As part of his bidding process, he visited our condo building to ensure that the unload would proceed as he planned. The moving team, Carlos(supervisor), Aaron and Mario were fantastic. Very personable and careful. We had one small furniture issue but Carlos and Aaron repaired the problem on the spot and you would never know the difference. We scheduled our load for a Monday afternoon and the unload for Tuesday afternoon (no addl. charge to hold the trucks overnight). The unload actually took longer than Fred had anticipated but honored his bid and did not charge any more than the bid amount. We would highly recommend this company, we were very pleased.

The move went exceptionally well. I was planning to call the company the day before the move to confirm the time and location, but they beat me to it! On the day of the move, Jayson and Derek were right on time. They were courteous, quiet, hard-working, efficient, and clearly expert at moving even the most ungainly pieces of furniture. They were unable to get their truck up our rather complicated driveway, but they simply moved the furniture up from the street -- no problem.

It went fine. It was great. They had an Online estimator that was easy to use. They came when they were supposed to and did what they were supposed to do. The furniture was in great condition when they got done, and they were very professional.

We will be using them this weekend when we move from our house into an apartment. They did a fantastic job moving us 7 years ago and we came back to them.

The movers were great. They (2 guys) worked quickly and efficiently and were polite, pleasant, and cheerful. I got estimates from two other companies (local branches of national companies) and their estimates were much higher, and one company even told me they'd have to send in a smaller truck and then transfer my belongings to a larger truck because of post-winter weight restrictions. A-1 had no problem bringing a large truck onto our street. A-1's rate was very reasonable, they sell used boxes for a low fee, and they handled a straightforward, simple move in a straightforward, simple way! I recommended A-1 to a friend who moved from one large house in St. Paul to another, and they too had a great experience.

There were no problems. The final bill was within $50 of the initial estimate, despite several changes. Our elderly friend was extremely grateful for their promptness and sensitivity.

There were 2 well maintained trucks and 4 strong men. They were on time, they were very careful with all of my belongings. Nothing was broken. The hanging boxes provided for clothes at the time of the move were a great time saver. Everything moved was placed into the room listed on the box or item. Beds and other items that were broken down for moving were re-set in the new house just where we designated. All workers were very pleasant and hard working. While at the house closing of the new house, my friend gave work direction without a problem until I could arrive.

Generally pleased with overall service. Initial call was fielded and an estimate was given (2 person + truck) $xxx/hr + travel time, 2hr minimum - estimate 2-3 hrs. Movers provided courtesy call to say they were on their way - arrived promptly as scheduled (Brian & Nick). Moved items without issue - put them in the requested locations afterwards - a couple of wall scratches made going up/down stairs, but nothing that can't be easily fixed - couple of the items were quite heavy. The guys worked pretty hard on a hot day - completed in the minimum 2 hrs. Only peeve: As stated, it was a hot day ... Towards then end of the move, both guys were sweating pretty good getting it on the furniture - and while preparing the invoice in the kitchen, dripping continuously onto the counter/floor.

Talked with Fred to get it set up. He gave me LOTS of great suggestions and information about moving. I had to switch the day and time a couple of times and the guys were patient and ok with that. The two guys who came to help came on time (gave me advanced notice so I could go get the truck before they got there). They did a great job packing everything, and made some suggestions on the remaining (little stuff) that needed to be packed. The only negative, and this is REALLY small, is that they left cigarette butts in the driveway. On the upside, the guys were careful with furniture, etc., and were very respectful.

Their movers were friendly and handled our possessions with care. I was surprised how flawlessly they executed the move and it was evident that their staff are experts at their jobs.

This company was very cooperative and understanding to work with since I had to reschedule my father's move twice due to my mother's failing health and death while she was in hospice care. They were courteous, prompt and took every measure to protect my father's furniture from damage as well as having great care to not damage the apartment walls, doors, etc. I also used them again when I moved my father from independent living to assisted living in the same complex and they, once again, were very easy to work with and did a great job. If I ever have to move in the future, I would definitely use them again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to someone else.

Carlos and Mario with absolutely great! They showed up about 15 - 20 minutes later than they had indicated, and the whole move took just 5.25 hours (estimated at 4 - 5 by phone). They were friendly, polite, and boy can they move stuff. Very positive attitude and not one scratch or dent that I can find! I'd hire them again, but I'm never moving again (famous last words!)

They arrived on time and loaded our furniture and boxes. They then drove the 140 miles north to our new house and unloaded everything--putting much of the furniture in a walkout basement for us. They were very professional and did an excellent job. Everything arrived in beautiful shape and the men put all the furniture in the correct rooms. The price we paid was even less than the quote we received from them. We would definitely use them again.

A-1 was available on the day and time I requested with less than a weeks notice. They answered all my questions with confidence and a representative called two days before to confirm my scheduled move. The men arrived on time with a good attitude and were very polite. The entire move was done efficiently and with great care and was completed in one and a half hours. I was very impressed with how little time it took for them to complete this work. Above and beyond my expectations!

Crew arrived 30 minutes early; unexpected but worked out OK as I was ready for them; worked fast. There were a couple of pieces of antique furniture that I would have liked to seen padded and them be a little more gentle with, however no harm seems done. Same thing with a 6-month old sleigh bed. I was a little concerned when they put all the pieces into a box to take to the truck without providing any buffer between them so that they just leaned up against each other, creating a risk of dings or scratches. Same thing with a 95 year old 4x4 oil painting. I had expected that it would be packaged in a protective box but instead they just took it unprotected. I haven't found any damage, however I think the risks were unnecessary. Crew was pleasant and helpful with placement and dealing with a foot coming off antique desk through no fault of theirs. Was most surprised to be asked about a tip at the receiving end. A tip was planned and given but I did not expect to be asked.

They were on time. I only scheduled their service 2 days in advance. They had all the right straps and lifting equipment that was needed. It was all moved quickly and carefully by the 2 men. Nothing was damaged. They were courteous and quick. They maneuvered the doors and corners very carefully and fast. They knew when and how to take off legs or other parts to fit thru doorways etc. I would definitely recommend them and hire them again. There is a minimum charge for their service which was for 2 hours. 1/2 hour was considered their travel time. So I was ready to get everything I wanted moved during the time arranged. I decided that their service was deserving of a tip as well.

The entire crew at A1 was fantastic to work with. We started packing in May 2007 in anticipation of a move into a new home weeks before we actually moved, and A1 was flexible and helpful in providing boxes in advance. Their estimate was for some packing and a total move of the contents of our home was spot-on, and the foreman and crew were clean, courteous, and hard-working. They left both homes spotless after they completed the move, and all the guys on the team wasted no time in getting the job done. We even returned our boxes for a refund on those materials, as advertised.

These guys were absolutely fantastic! The estimate was the most thorough of the three I received, and was reasonable and accurate. The movers arrived promptly, were friendly and professional, and amazed me with the pace of their efforts. They'd carry the heaviest furniture pieces quickly but carefully (no damage to any walls or furniture), and then literally jog back into the house for the next item. In the new house, they were very careful placing heavy items on sensitive hardwood floors, and made sure they asked and understood where I wanted every item placed. I would highly recommend this company and consider it some of the best money I've ever spent!

It went great. From the first phone call to Joel Mitchell, to the follow-up calls from Fred and Brian, the communication was excellent. These guys made the whole process easy from start to finish in a rather unusual situation. Two daughters helped move our parents to Rochester, one on the Marine end and one on the Rochester end. Dave and his crew of two other movers did a wonderful job, everything was handled gently and arrived in great condition. Many thanks for a job well done!
