I have been in the process of remodeling and had my furniture in pod storage. Carlos and Jose were punctual and on time. There were several things that impressed me: they were extremely fast, very conscientious, very kind, very professional, very careful not to scratch the floors and walls and seemed happy to be at work. They made sure the furniture was set up and if unsure about where a box should go, would ask me before putting in a room. The day before they came in, I had appliances and carpet installed. Both of those crews were horrible -- would not look me in the eyes, not happy to be at work and unprofessional. Jose and Carlos were a breath of fresh air by providing top notch customer service and they were done before the estimated time. They even took their shoes off each time when going down in the basement (that is where the carpet was installed).

A-1 rocked. There right on time, friendly guys, easy scheduling. Price seemed fair, and there was no dawdling. Movers were very careful with everything they carried in.

The crew from A-1 was excellent. They worked really hard and they didn't waste any time. We had more stuff to move then they had anticipated but they didn't complain and just continued To work hard. They were very respectful and accommodating to all our needs.

They were very friendly and reasonable. They were very efficient and worked until the job was done. I was very pleased with the service.

The crew, Rodney, John, Antonio, and Mario all showed up on time with their two trucks and started work immediately. It was amazing what they could carry in one load and on their backs! They were neat and efficient and had us moved in with the boxes and furniture placed where we directed. By 3:00 in the afternoon they were done with the move. We were very pleased with their efficiency and cleanliness. Great job.

CITY MOVE? Worth it. I'm 30 and I've never used movers before but this was worth it. SO FAST! They have everything you need- dollies, wraps, blankets... Call these guys and the next thing you know you're moved.

They were there within the time they said they arrived. We first let them know about which things we'd like to move. After setting up their truck, they quickly started moving furniture out, politely letting us know as they went potential problems. I really appreciated that they let us know which things would be easier for us to do, and would safe us money, and when they were taking breaks. There was no cussing, excess skin exposure, and excess mess.

I was impressed by the level and quality of service from top-to-bottom. The initial quote was done via an in-person visit. During the visit Fred answered a lot of questions and gave me useful tips on packing up and getting ready for the move. (The other company I asked for a quote did it all over the phone.) The hourly moving rate quoted by A-1 Moving was slightly higher than the other company, but I preferred the in-person level of service so I went with A-1. Between booking their services and the actual move, I called numerous times with questions and they were always very friendly, patient, and informative. The day of the actual move, the movers appeared promptly on time. The 3 movers were very polite and personable; they had me walk them through everything to be moved so they could get a sense of where to start. From then on, I just stayed out of the way and answered questions. They were always very careful with the furniture and boxes, and also took care not to bang the walls or doorways. Loading and unloading both went very smoothly; the 3 men worked well together and had a positive attitude through everything. (Even lugging the heavy washer and dryer up and down the basement steps at both houses - since we swapped those appliances between the new and old houses.) They arranged the furniture in the rooms and offered to re-arrange if I changed my mind. They also put all the boxes in the rooms as labeled. The entire experience was wonderful and I would recommend this company for your move.

I thought it went well. Everything that needed to be moved was moved, no damage to anything. Each time they went down to bring up another load of stuff, they also took the empty boxes down to put in recycling. We moved from a 1200 square foot apartment to 600 sqare feet, so this made getting around in the new place much easier!My only comment that is at all involving a need for improvement, is that when they moved the triple dresser, the drawers were not belted shut or wrapped. Had I known they were not going to belt them, I would have emptied the drawers or taken them out and wrapped them. My mother was quite upset that they moved the dresser this way, and saw some of her things flop out of the drawers. She is moving again next week and she is refusing to allow me to rehire them. However, I am moving next year, and plan to use them. I thought they were terrific.

I was very pleased with my interaction with this company. From my initial phone call for a quote through finalization of the move - the movers were friendly, personable and professional. I received a phone call when they were 20 minutes from my destination. They asked appropriate questions and determined the best way to remove the furniture and reassemble in the apartment. I had an additional piece of furniture that needed to be picked up and moved from a different location and they were happy to accommodate my request. They were very careful when they moved the furniture, lamps, pictures, electronics etc. Had two very minor issues with some damage - nothing worth repairing. This company would be my first choice when I have additional moving requirements. Thanks Antonio and Manuel!!

We hired these movers to move our fully furnished apartment as well as some items we had stored in a garage at a separate location. I was really surprised on how professional they were, they arrived within the time window they estimated for me and they got straight to business. They were all really friendly and literally jogged between boxes and furniture. They were careful with items marked fragile and they also supplied a variety of blankets to wrap furniture. Overall I was very satisfied with them and I would definitely use them again, even though I don't plant on moving anytime soon.

They were truly very professional and hard workers. We got three quotes from other movers and they were a little higher but we were very impressed with their professionalism. We were very impressed with everything that they did for us.

Everything went smoothly, from the estimating process to the packing to the move itself. The staff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about their work. They provided all the packing supplies, two trucks, 3-4 guys each day. We were packed in about 7 hours, and moved in about 5. It was overall the best moving experience I've had in my life, and I'd highly recommend them

They called me two days before and confirmed the move. they showed up at the approximate time that was quoted. Three young guys showed up and asked what was to be moved and where. they had the job complete in less than an hour. Very professional, very cordial and pleasant to work with. we will be calling them to move things back into the house.

They were very responsive from the start. Our initial scheduled appointment had to be postponed due to the potential for rain which they gladly did. The movers came in on time. Unfortunately they had to wait outside the complex since my message giving my cell # was not relayed to the movers by the A-1 office. The work was impeccable. We have had a lot of exposure to professional moving companies and all of them have been disappointing. This is the first time that I can say the move was professional. My only gripe is when they billed me for 30 min extra. The appointment was for 10am and they were done at 12.45pm but I was charged for 3.25 hrs.It was written on the bill and my fault I did not catch it when I signed it. Work is excellent (I would use them again) , price is good except for the extra charge (hence the C rating).

A-1 Moving (401 11th Ave S, Hopkins, MN 55343 952-926-7017) was the first moving company I called that said, without reservation or concern, they could handle a move that involved hoisting objects externally. Knowing that this move had it's obstacles, I tried to be as prepared as possible and brought a list of items and their dimensions as well as pictures of what needed to be moved and pictures of the property to A-1's office because I wanted to make sure they knew what they were getting into. Joel Mitchell in the office was very helpful from my first phone call and throughout this entire process and I can't thank him enough. Aaron and Esra, the movers, were punctual, professional, courteous, respectful, efficient, and highly skilled at what they do with many years of experience. I was so pleased with each of them that I tipped them $30 each (approximately $10/hr each) so my total cost with tip was about $400. The actual move barely took two hours, but ironically, the thing that ate up an extra 30 minutes of the 45 minutes travel time was unexpected traffic between the two properties, but that's just life. This was my very first experience using professional movers and it was a great one. I will never not use movers again and without hesitation, A-1 will be my first call the next time I need to move. I can not recommend them highly enough.

This was probably one of the smoothest moves I've had. Got an advanced quote from the owner and he was able to recommend the right amount of trucks and men to get the job done in a timely manner. The guys showed up on time. They were all friendly, professional, and ready to work. They seemed to work well together as a team which is really important. And best of all, nothing got broken (haven't unpacked all boxes yet but so far so good).Would highly recommend!

This was our first time hiring movers, so I was nervous beforehand about what to expect. The men from A-1 were friendly, helpful, and fast. They arrived at our old house and immediately started organizing what should go on the truck first. They had to remove a door and a banister in order to get a few heavy, large items out of our basement, but they were careful and replaced them perfectly. It took about 3 hours to load up the truck. They then stored everything overnight. The next day, they called to make sure our closings had finished on time, and then brought the truck to the new house. They were careful with our belongings, worked with us to make sure everything went to the right room, and were friendly with our preschooler who I am sure was kind of in the way. I was prepared for the price, having read other reviews, but it does seem like a lot of money. That said, I was exhausted at the end of the day and it would have been a thousand times worse if I'd had to carry all those heavy boxes and furniture. A-1 made it a lot easier for us. We did call a couple of days earlier to see if they could adjust the time slots, they said they'd get back to us, and we never heard back--not a big deal at all, just thought I'd note it.

The movers arrived both times on time! they quickly but carefully packed my belongings and brought them to my new home! very polite and helpful! No box seemed to heavy for them and there were a lot which were very heavy!

A-1 Movers charged me like $640. They were excellent. I found them to be very helpful. They were definitely professional. They were experienced. They really worked hard for me. Their price was pretty reasonable. They were people accommodating. Overall, I would give them an "A". I would use them again in the future.

I had to move the contents of a one bedroom apartment to a storage unit. I had done much of the packing but was not completely done on the move day. They sent two movers who assisted with the completion of packing , loaded it in truck and unloaded it into storage unit. They worked quickly, carefully and got the job done quickly. I would use their services again.

The person from the company was rude and very unhelpful regarding my using the coupon I bought from Angie's List.

They were pretty good. We new we were moving a month in advance. We called them, and they told us to have everything packed and labeled in boxes. They provided boxes, at additional cost. They came promptly on the day of the move. They were very respectful of the apartment we moved from. They stored our belongings in their storage facility, which we used for about a month until it was time to move into our new house. It was a safe, clean facility, near to where we were moving. The day they moved us into our new house, they were very respectful and laid out protective coverings on the floor. There was only one thing I couldn't find and that was a vase, which could still be at the warehouse. It was a good experience, and I would use them again. It was the first time I had used a mover, so it was more than what I had expected. It was a great first-time experience. I think the price was reasonable because we had a lot of stuff to move.

A-1 was super professional, prompt, and quick without being careless. The movers were very friendly and skilled. I didn't have much to move, but I thought it would take at least a few hours. They were able to load the truck, drive to my new house, and unload everything in about an hour. They were very careful with my belongings and they were good at minding the walls in my new place and the ones I was leaving. I don't think they even came close to scratching or breaking anything. I was able to schedule them with only a few days notice, and they were right on time. I highly recommend this company for your next move!
