"We hired Bruce Freeman to create a new vision for the kitchen of our recently purchased 1960's home. Our project was complicated by potential structural issues with moving weight-bearing walls and a stairwell. As a former builder himself, Bruce had the knowledge to know what was and wasn't possible structurally. He listened carefully to our ideas about the style and function we had in mind for the space. He then took that information, coupled with his own expertise, to draft an initial design. He thought outside the box and had the creativity to take advantage of wonderful lighting and views in the back of our home and actually flipped the location of the former kitchen and dining room to optimize these assets. He incorporated our feedback to create a final blueprint. We were able to present these plans to contractors in order to get comparable bids from them. We met with Tom to go over what work we wanted to do and there’s just something about making a personal connection with someone that makes you feel confident that the work they’re going to do for you is going to be great, and it was! Can’t say enough about Tom and his brother Jesse‘s professionalism, knowledge and skill!! Along with countertops, we were also installing some unfinished cabinets and we didn’t even know it was an option, but Tom offered without us asking to prime and paint them for us as well, AND he even went and matched the paint so the new cabinets matched the old ones we were keeping, which was great because we were under a time crunch to get this work done before family was coming to stay with us.
