Mudslingers Drywall & Remodeling LLC.

Mudslingers was completely awful to work with. We hired them to serve as a general contractor for a bathroom installation in an unfinished basement space. We were very unhappy with the process of working with them and had difficulties every step of the way--from getting accurate quotes from them, getting quality advice, communication issues, and having sound, reliable work done. 1) Quality of Advice and Work Some of Mudslingers’ subcontractors didn’t always seem very sound. One subcontractor discovered something he said absolutely should not have been done (another subcontractor covered an electrical outlet with wall framing). Mudslingers also gave us information that our plumber later told us was absolutely incorrect (regarding how the plumbing could be run). They didn't seem to keep good track of what was going on at the house or what needed to be done--We had to hound them to come back to finish some aspects of work and they sent people on days they weren't scheduled to do anything. I thought scheduling and keeping track of the project was exactly what the general contractor was supposed to do. 2) Budgeting The estimate we received from Mudslingers and the amount that we agreed to when we hired them ended up being incorrect by a couple thousand dollars. They ended up letting us know about half way through the process that they had calculated incorrectly and we would owe more money. At the end of the project, they double charged us for work, amounting to a few more thousand dollars. 3) Communication issues Mudslingers was very difficult to communicate with. There were emails I sent with questions or requesting confirmation that they would not respond to until I had followed up several times. Sometimes, they would say they would get back to us in a day or two and we wouldn’t hear back from them for a couple of weeks. Other times they never responded at all. Even after I asked them to keep us updated on schedules, they would not let us know when people were coming over. The last time I brought this up with Troy, he said it wasn't possible to keep us updated due to schedules changing constantly and that this lack of communication was outlined in our original statement of work. However, people also showed up outside the outlined hours in our contract (someone showed up on a Saturday--I thought someone had broken into the house! and they preventing me from completing planned work in the bathroom, even though Mudslingers knew I was planning on working in there that day). Furthermore, tile work was moved out about a week without them notifying us. . We had people showing up needing to talk with us without Mudslingers ever telling us to expect them or a call, so I would have to interrupt my work (stepping out on meetings or showing up late to calls) to meet with them. Subcontractors would seem genuinely surprised that Mudslingers hadn't notified us that they were coming. This lead to incredibly inconvenient interruptions in my work day to deal with issues that I thought I had hired a general contractor to handle. 4) Attention to Detail and Thoughtfulness Regarding Our Project From the outset, Mudslingers provided an estimate with very little detail or forethought. This caused a lot of problems down the road as subcontractors would show up unsure of what to do. We would have to make snap decisions that didn’t always turn out to be optimal for the space, without any real guidance from Mudslingers. This also resulted in spending more money as certain things were not accounted for in their original estimate. I hired Mudslingers to help with our bathroom because I am not an expert in home design or building, and wanted their expertise and guidance, which we did not get. Troy did not check in with us or come by the house while progress was ongoing. He did not generally seem interested in how things were going or invested in our project at all, even forgetting to complete parts of the project until reminded. They did not seem any cheaper than going with a more experienced remodeler, like Platinum or Castle, and I’m beginning to believe we would have been better off going with all subcontractors than hiring Mudslingers as I think we would have received more communication and interaction with individual subs, and hopefully more expertise and correct information as well.

Troy and the Mudslingers team were great. The remodel was a relatively small job but they treated me as if I was their most important client. I hope to use them again and will recommend them to friends.

Price was too high, never hired them.

We had new draintile installed in our basement by a different contractor and as part of that work did some remodeling in the basement. Mudslingers built a small closet around our new sump pump, hung a new door between rooms, did several spots of drywall patching, and painted about 3000 sq ft of basement rooms. They were always available by phone and when an issue arose near the end with a cracked piece of flooring, the owner personally called me every day as he worked to solve the problem.

All the communication was timely. The crew did an excellent repair and clean up. This was my second positive experience with Mudslingers.

It went well, good quality work, they stayed on the schedule and the owner came to check the progress.

It went great! there was virtually no dust outside the work area after they were done. The space did work in was amazingly clean as well.

We love our new countertops. They have completely transformed our kitchen and we could not be happier. Troy and the entire team at Mudslingers did a fantastic job. From start to finish everyone we met was so nice, respectful, responsive and really good at what they do. We will definitely recommend them to family and friends. Thanks again Mudslingers!

It turned out really well. I didn't know what to expect for a big project. Troy was the main lead and he always replied and kept us in the loop. He was willing to work with us and make things happen.

Excellent. The ceilings look great. All work was on time, they did what they said they would do. They were polite and respectful and I would hire them again. It should also be noted that several other contractors turned the job down as apparently it was too tough for them.

As good as it could have gone. No complaint. Very happy with the company and their work.

They were great! Very professional and timely! Their work is very high quality. The process was smooth from start to finish! Would definitely recommend them and most certainly will hire them for projects in the future!

Troy and team did an excellent job. They sent a schedule at the beginning, followed it exactly, and finished when they said they would. They contracted out the electrical work and the company they used did a phenomenal job. Troy was always proactive about status updates. Would definitely hire again.

Mudslingers is above and beyond drywall! We had a doorway that we wanted closed up to create a new bedroom, and they were great from the initial bid (personable and quick) to the actual work. They closely coordianted both the drywall team and a carpenter who was able to closely match 1950's bead board on the interior bedroom wall, something we never would have been able to do ourselves (and even searching on our own for a separate woodworker would have been a headache). Their insight to rip out the entire wall (instead of just the door frame) and reinstall the wood paneling there, plus an offer to repaint the entire room, was exactly the expert advice and insight we needed. Would definitely work with them again, great experience!

It was very good. The best thing about them, if there's a problem they fixed it immediately and if I have questions he answered me right away. The job was perfectly done. Matching the popcorn is quite challenging but they did a great job.

It went very well. They were prompt and they were cheerful. It is nice to see someone that enjoys their work. They had 2 teams, one did the drywall another did the priming. Well orchestrated and we are very pleased with the finished product.

They were on time as scheduled did fast, great quality work. The guys working were all friendly and the owner was available for any questions. Project well done!!!

This is the worst contractor that I have ever worked with!!! First and foremost they didn't stick to the schedule that they set, in fact they changed it last minute on me three different times. On top of that they are very unprofessional just look at the problems they caused. The drywall workers tried put in drywall over trim work and couldn't cut the drywall to the fit electrical boxes (see the photos below). They also left our place a mess (even after they supposedly cleaned up). I spent three hours cleaning our bathroom floor. They also tried to hide crap in our backyard such as a pile of drywall mud and wood with screws sticking which was left right outside our dog house. We had to call and make the manager come out here to see how horrible of a job they did. With all this headache they still charged us full price and I ended up losing two days of work because I had to babysit a contractor. Save yourself the problems and find a different contractor.

Well. Estimate was easy to understand. They dud everything they said they would perfectly.

The team was very professional, courteous, clean. I would definitely use them again and have recommended them to friends, who in turn have used them and been very happy with their own jobs, as well.

Every thing went super smooth. Troy and his staff were always on time and got the job done on the time frame they gave me. They made it a point to keep me updated on what was going on for the day and what was to follow. A++ great people to work with.

My ceilings had popcorn on them and it needed to be replaced. The workers came out and did a great job at covering everything, so nothing would get on my floors. They did a knockdown texture and it looks fantastic! I have already suggested this place to a few friends. I highly recommend them!
