I contacted Tom Becker after seeing other reviews on Angies List. I had been to several Big Box stores and frankly the quality of the carpet available and the typical month it actually takes them to complete the work was not going to work in my situation. Tom called back immediately and answered all my questions over the phone. He then sent me to his Wholesaler to pick out the carpet which was high quality Nylon BCF carpet that was actually cheaper than several poly builders grade carpets sold at the big box stores. He came out took measurements and had his crew out the following morning. His men arrived 15 minutes EARLY, did a great job installing the carpet, cleaned up the mess afterward and were all about the work. No messing around...they arrived- grabbed their tools, went right to work and were done in a couple hours. I was honestly impressed with this company from start to finish.

I was looking to purchase a home with a weird bump underneath the carpet. I wondered how much it would cost to have someone lift the carpet and reinstall after I looked at what was underneath. Dick was very pleasant and easy to talk to. He was willing to drive to Eagan from his office in Excelsior to look at the carpet to give his assessment for free and if we wanted to lift the carpet he would charge his minimum rate ($125). My dad did not think the carpet bump was a big enough deal to warrant lifting the carpet, and I did not want Dick to drive out to Eagan for nothing, so we did not end up using Dick. However, I have Dick in my list of contacts if I want any carpet related services in the future. I asked him if he does carpet removal and hauling away, and he said he did not, but referred me to someone that he uses all the time and gave me an idea of how much they cost. He is friendly, down to earth, and helpful and would be someone very easy to work with.

Dick does great work and was friendly throughout the job. He was flexible with our demanding schedule between closing on Thursday morning and having movers scheduled to deliver furniture on Friday afternoon. Due to a delay with the moving truck, he helped us get a good deal from an acquaintance for last-minute carpet cleaning so our floors were installed properly, clean and dry before our belongings were moved in.

Great work, nice guy. Wish I had done this 9 years earlier. The carpet bubbles had been there from the day I bought the house. The fix couldn't have been easier and the outcome looks great.

Dick was very responsive even suggesting early on that perhaps the company that had completed the original carpet might stretch the carpet without cost to us. The company is no longer in business. Wonder why? Anyway, Dick ultimately did perform the work in a prompt and professional manner. He even took the time to clean up some of the work of the original carpet installers. I would highly recommend him for any carpet work.

It went great. He was actually able to come sooner than I expected because of a schedule change. He was up front with price and explained it all to us. He did the work while my wife and grand daughter were at the house and he was very polite and respecting of thier activities.

Dick was punctual, professional, very friendly and explained everything very well. He was a pleasure to meet with and we look forward to working with him in the future. His bid was very reasonable, and we only went with another contractor because bundling the services worked better for us. He is a very good businessman and we recommend using him.

I had an excellent experience with Dick, who I hired to remove old carpeting/pad and install new carpeting and pad on stairs in our 1914 house. He provided an estimate of labor required and materials needed (and left only a couple of small scraps to spare). I chose carpeting from his recommended distributor and there were numerous choices. Dick picked up the carpeting, removed the old carpeting, including painstakingly peeling away the old pad which stuck to the wooden stairs, and installed the new carpeting with a new pad. It was difficult carpeting to work with as it was stiffer than most carpeting he would recommend for this purpose which required more time on his part. But, it didn't stop him from doing a beautiful and meticulous job with great attention to detail. It turned out beautifully. Dick is honest, hard working and very fair, and a delightful man with excellent skills.

He was punctual, hardworking, on time and on budget. I will definitely call him again.

Outstanding from begin to end, very nice to deal with a small-individual business when buying carpet as opposed to the large carpet stores. Dick's vendors had a great selection of carpet to choose from which was very important to my wife. He personally did the install which was done in a very timely and professional manner. Have recommended Dick's to friends and neighbors.

Overall it was a good experience although I did not appreciate needing to help move carpet rolls when I paid for the complete installation.

Working with Dick was a breeze. He came to the house, measured the area (barely a srap left over) and gave me the best estimate. He sent me to the carpet dealer to pick out the color and put me on his schedule. I left a key for him and he let himself in an out. Our realator made some last minute changes in the layout which Dick accomadated cheerfully. All in all the experience went off without a hitch. He knew what he was doing. he did what he said he would do he cleaned up after himself and the carpet is beautiful! I would use again and recommend him highly.

I called Dick for an estimate. He came out promptly in February to look at he job. He gave me a written estimate. I got very busy and didn't pursue the project until the end of May. I needed to do the preliminary work eg. purchasing a piece of base and staining it to match the other in the hall. Painting shelves and cleaning the room thoroughly to get it ready. Dick came out and looked at he job again in May and we set up the date to do the work. He picked up the carpet for me and other supplies. I picked up the baseboards. He came and worked very hard and everything looked great. It took him 3/4 of one day and about 1/2 another. He charged me exactly what he estimated even though I decided to put baseboards in the storage room which I originally didn't think of. Dick was very professional and kind.

Dick was great at communicating. He sent me to a carpet store to select a carpet then took care of ordering. He returned to do the install the following week. The work was really well done and the repaired area flowed well with the rest of the carpet. I could not have been more pleased.

Dick was very thorough and professional. Because of a problem with another job he was working on he couldn't make our originally scheduled appointment. But he did call and let us know and we were able to reschedule.He actually accomodated our schedule even though it meant that he ended up working fairly late in the evening. I HIGHLY recommend Dick for the quality of work and his professional attitude which is often times lacking with the big box stores.

Dick's carpeting were very flexible in meeting my needs; however could not use the coupon due to my own health issues. I plan to use his service in the future; very knowledgeable and professional.

Professional estimate, short time frame, professional service

We had to reschedule twice due to conflicts and changes to his schedule but when the day we agreed on came he showed up on time and did the work. He did a first class job. The carpet had stretched after getting wet and he re-stretched it and trimmed it as he installed it. The basement looks like new. We are very pleased and recommend his work.

I contacted Dick within days of purchasing the Big Deal. He came to my home to measure and advise me on what width of carpet to buy and the options available. The purchase and choices were entirely mine to make and that was fine. He said he could make anything work as long as we had the right amount of material. When the carpet runner arrived, I again called Dick to schedule when he could actually install. He scheduled my job within a week and completed the job the same day. He was thorough, fairly neat, and very personable. I wouldn't hesitate recommending him or using his services again.

We had carpet in a living room that was fairly new, so we wanted it moved into two bedrooms with ancient carpeting (living room has hardwood now). Dick worked with quite a large piece of carpet, installing it flawlessly and even had enough left over to do the steps going up to the bedroom level.

After a basement drain backup in the basement laundry area, I lifted part of the adjacent finished basement carpet and tore out the soaked pad. Once the carpet had dried, Dick replaced part of the carpet with some remnants we had saved, and installed new tack strips and pad in the areas I had removed. He re-seamed the carpet where needed, and re-stretched it. Dick was very professional and personable, and did an excellent job under difficult circumstances (working with a mix of old in-use carpet, and old unused carpet). I'd use him again in a heartbeat.

Overall we are very satisfied with the work that was done. Dick did a great job installing the carpet and it looks great. The price was also very fair. We will use Dick again in the future.

He's a very hard worker. His length of experience allows him to nearly pre-calculate carpet measure in his head. He also physically measured the dimensions. He doen't waste any carpet because he can tally expactly how to cut and layout a minimal amount of carpet and it was absolutely accurate. He is a great craftsman and the quality of his workmenship is outstanding. His prices were the most reasonable we could find. He is also a very nice gentleman and provided full a explanations to all my questions. I felt he was the most trustworthy of all the carpet installers we meet.
