I contacted Dick from the reviews on Angies List. Dick called me back and told me he could be out on Thursday. He called at 7:30pm saying he was not going to make it, but we could meet on Friday, which worked for me as well. He gave me a quote and showed me carpet samples. I relayed to him that we would be moving in the next month and needed service in the near future. He was about 3 weeks out on install and I asked him to put me on his schedule for the next opening. I decided to keep the appointment even though it would be pushing our time limit. I called a week before what I thought we were on the schedule. I was told that his schedule was all booked up now for another 3 weeks and there were not any openings. I asked him to put me on the schedule for the beginning of August and when I called to confirm and was not on the I was told "he does that." Now I have to start the process over, which is quit frustrating since we are selling the house for relocation. I am sure Dick would do a great job and the price was good, but this is just unacceptable. This is the reason for the bad review.

Contacted via Angie's List e-mail feature. Dick was prompt in returning call and very accommodating in setting up an install date only a week out. Very personable and professional. Quick, clean, efficient and very knowledgeable/experienced. Would definitely hire again !

Dick is a one man show with assistance from his wife for scheduling. Discussed our need over the phone with Dick and his estimate was spot on to the job he completed. When Dick showed up he assessed the work and completed the job as estimated over the phone. Dick brought our carpet back to life. The price was fair and work completed was top notch. We love our carpets again. Dick has been in the business a long time and he knows his stuff. If you need someone to stretch or lay carpets, Dick should be your first call.

The carpet looks the same as the original installation...which is excellent. Dick is a carpet pro. I'd use him again.

We haven't replaced our carpet yet due to issues we need to address with the subfloor after pulling out the old carpet. Therefore, this review is only for the estimating process (not for any actual work performed). Dick returned my phone call promptly for an estimate. He was very flexible in selecting a date/time for the estimate. When he arrived, the quote process went very quickly. He measured the rooms and gave us a very clear installation cost. He then gave us a list of several wholesale carpet suppliers he works with. You can basically pick any carpet you want from the wholesalers and Dick takes care of the rest. Unfortunately, we have to repair some subfloors before moving forward so we haven't installed any carpet yet but Dick is on the top of the list for contractors. He was very friendly, his installation cost was fair, and he is the one that actually performs the work (i.e. he's doesn't have a stereo typical "used car saleman" type attitude). He seems like a very hard working down to earth type guy. I would highly recommend checking him out if looking at new carpet. It was a much better experience than going to the plethora of chain carpet stores in the area.

The carpets in my home are about 12 years old, but still in good share and I am hoping to get a few more years out of them. However, there were a few spots where some "bubbles" had formed and these bubbles needed to be fixed. I found found Dick's Carpet Service here on Angie's List and called Dick to provide me with a quote. Dick came to my home over the winter, assessed my problem and explained that he could do the work and that I caught the problem early enough to solve it before the carpet became damaged by the bubbles. Dick also explained that I would be better off waiting until Spring to get the carpet re-stretched as having a bit more humidity in the air would result in a better outcome. We scheduled the work for April 8, 2014. Dick arrived on time and set to work. I stayed at the house to help with moving furniture. Dick solved of the bubbles with his re-stretching techniques and he overcame any problems he came across. The whole project took about 3 hours and that included moving all of the furniture back into place. I am very happy with the outcome and will gladly call Dick again if I discover other carpet related issues in my home.

He went out of his way to provide an accurate estimate, pick up the carpet and install the carpet with having to creatively piece it to fit the room. This is the second project Dick has done for me, and I will use him again in the future when the need arises.

We were having our master bath remodeled, and when putting in the transition from the tile floor in the bathroom to the carpet in our walk-in closet the contractor accidentally cut the carpet back a little too far. He offered to replace the carpet, but we could not find anything we liked and quite frankly did not want to replace it until we replace the carpet in the bedroom. I called Dick based on reviews I read on similar work done. We are well out of his service area particularly for such a small job, but he had another job scheduled closer to us and agreed to fit us in if we were OK with paying his minimum fee, which at $125 seemed very reasonable. He came promptly and performed the repair (stretched the carpet) quickly and it looks great. We were thrilled that we didn't have to replace the carpet, and our bathroom contractor was thrilled that he only had to pay the $125 fee instead of whatever it would have cost to re-carpet the whole closet!

Dick did a wonderful job. The carpet looks great and I could not be happier. It was a big job, so it was broken down into phases. Dick and his demolition team worked with our schedules. Everyone was very professional and took good care of our home. I would recommend Dick to Friends and Family. Actually, I was referred to Dick by my in-laws.

Dick was easy to work with and did a great job. We already had the carpet and pad - he just did the installation. It took a little longer than he expected, but it was no problem. I'd definitely use him again.

I hired them after finding them on Angie's List. Dick did cut the carpet a little smaller than needed, but I think that was unintentional. Everything worked out pretty well.

I am very disappointed in this company. I contacted Dick the last week of June to reinstall some carpet in a basement bedroom after a remodel. He came out and was very nice. He explained everything and gave me a quote. He stayed about an hour and even gave me one of his promotional pens and wrote the quote on the back of one of his shiny metallic cards. Originally, I wanted him to come the next week but he was too busy and then we were going to be out of town the following week so we scheduled for him to be here on July 15th. When he did not show up at my house by 9:00 am I called his house and was told that I was not scheduled for that day. His wife said she would call him to see what was going on and would call me back. She called him and he had no recollection of ever seeing me, giving me a quote or scheduling the service. Additionally he would not have a free schedule until August. So, here I am back on Angie's list looking for someone else to do the work. Very disappointed!

Dick came out the same day we initially contacted him and gave us his estimate. He patiently explained the ins and outs of how we could go about this project. He directed us to a carpet distributor where we saved a considerable amount of money on the carpet purchase. He works slowly and carefully. We are extremely pleased with the end result and would recommend him highly.

Dick Miller is an expert at carpet repair. I made the appointment he was on time, and very through in his work. He spent about an hour cutting out the stained carpet, and putting in the replacement. I would recommend him anytime.

Great Dick did great job and saved me from buying a new pad for the whole basement

We had two bad seams where the bedrooms and hallway carpet come together on a one year old carpet installation. Dick was able to work on one of the seams and it is much better. We still have a slight seam, but nothing like it was. I think the only person that would notice it is me. I'm a bit OCD. The other seam he was unable to do anything with due to the fact the carpet in that room was laid in the wrong direction. Dick would not waste my money and attempt to repair something he knew, from years of experience, could not be fixed. Dick took a lot of time to explain to me why we had the seams and why he was able to repair one and not the other. I would highly recommend Dick's Carpet Repair.

He called me back right away after I left a message. We scheduled an appointment. He gave me an estimate over the phone. He was here on the day, but a little late because our house is hard to find(not his fault in other words). He worked until the job was done, and had to do some clean up and staple removal that we couldn't get ourselves during tear out of the carpet. The installation of the carpet and pad on the stairs looks great. it is a vertical striped pattern, and the lines are perfectly straight and the carpet looks great. His manner was friendly, kind and courteous on the phone and in person. He did an awesome job.

He was a very nice guy. Replaced the carpet in my son's bedroom and it looks great.
