Direct Home Appliance Service

Dave was great. Dave was punctual, quick, and clean. He made sure to explain to me exactly what was wrong and exactly how he was going to fix the problem before he started the maintenance work. Before putting the fridge back together, he even made sure the area he worked in was clean. I appreciate the quick call back. Direct Home was the third appliance repair service I had called today, but the first and only to respond, and I am so thankful they did!

Jon called me back promptly and notified me of the high cost of the parts he encountered when trying to get them from Viking, as well as Viking's unfortunate no-return policy. I really appreciate his honesty, and instead of charging me a high cost for parts that we may not need, he instead referred me to two other companies that work more often with Viking appliances and should be able to give me a better quote. Although we weren't able to work with Direct Home Appliance Service this time around, I'll call him first with any other trouble I have with appliances in my home.

I reviewed Angie's list under the category 'Appliance Repair-Large' to evaluate what the problem might be with our refrigerator. I evaluated several providers and called Jon at Direct Home Appliance (DHA) about 12:00 to determine when they might be able to come out and inspect our refrigerator. I told Jon some of the symptoms I was having and he gave me an initial estimate of $150 to replace the compressor. He then said he could have someone at my house later in the day between 3:00 and 5:00. It was 4:45 and I hadn't heard from someone at Direct House Appliance. I called Jon and he had Josh call me (about 5:00), who said he would be arriving soon...at 5:30 he arrived. Josh evaluated the issue with the refrigerator and determined a new compressor would be needed...with an estimate of $600-700. So we purchased a new refrigerator as the repair cost wasn't worth the investment. I was happy with the fact that DHA was able to fit us in, but unhappy with the inconsistencies in the repair estimates and the lack of communication when the repair technician would be arriving.

I first called and talked to Jon, telling him that our three year old Whirlpool dishwasher was making grinding-type noises...This had started just a few days before my call. Jon said that he could send someone out LATER THAT DAY - which he did. Trevor, after running it a few times - then taking the dishwasher out from under the counter, took it apart - EVEN TO THE EXTENT OF THE MACHINE'S MOTOR ...and removed the "cause" of the noise: a simple plastic piece called the "cooling pad", which had been a part of that motor. He said that he will need to remove the entire motor; found that one could be had by Monday-next (two days away!) - but that it would be Okay to run the dishwasher a few times with the piece taken out of the motor. Trevor arrived - as promised - on Monday; replaced the motor...And now it runs like new!

We called on a Sunday morning to ask questions after our top-load washer started making noises. He accurately diagnosed the issue, estimated the cost for repair and gave us some excellent comparative feedback about repairing vs. replacing. While we chose to replace, we appreciated his honest help and professional opinion.

Dave covers the SW Mpls suburbs & is excellent. Was given his cell number to call which he always picked up if possible, or called back when he said he would. Got part in advance in one day & only had to install. They worked with me on scheduling & it worked perfectly. Dave tried the most inexpensive fix on fridge & it worked! Excellent company!.

Appreciated that I was able to get an appointment scheduled in a short time frame. Did a great job of troubleshooting and got it going again very quickly. Highly recommend.

They came to our house 3 or 4 times. One time both Jon & Dave came over and worked together to make sure they knew exactly what they needed to do. There was never an additional service call charge. They we on time each visit , clean, friendly and did a great job! I would highly recommend their services.

Very quick at diagnosis and repair.

The service was fantastic. He cleared out my garbage disposal, and also gave me information on how to prevent issues in the future by periodically cleaning the disposal. He was very efficient and helpful.

Jim came promptly to fix our refrigerator and oven. He actually suggested we have one problem with the fridge taken care of by LG under recall.

Provider can out the same day and arrived within his time window 4-6pm Repaired my defrost value on my refrigerator. Work was satisfactory but was significantly over priced compared to other providers. $69 for the service call, $20/15 mins (job took 1hr) plus the cost of the part ($22), which they failed to mention was extra. Would had saved $70 if I would have went with AAA Anderson who only charges $80 for the service call (with $10 discount), and includes1hour of labor, plus the cost of the part. Lesson learned stick to who you know next time

I called DH because my 10 year old fridge was making an odd sound. Also, the ice maker wasn't working properly after another company came out previously to clean and service it. It only took him a few minutes to tell what the sound was that I was hearing. I was afraid the compressor (condenser?) would have to be replaced (which would mean a new fridge more than likely) but he said no--not yet. And unlike the other company, he pulled the fridge out and discovered that the ice maker wasn't working simply because the water line was kinked. He also had some suggestions when I asked about buying an upright freezer which I found very helpful. The guys at DH Appliance are incredibly experienced and knowledgeable and because of this, very efficient. They don't waste your time or your money. It is very easy to schedule a fast, convenient time and they are on time. I also had them out a few years ago to repair my gas dryer also and received the same stellar service. I wouldn't use any other company any more to take care of my appliances.

Our dishwasher broke down Friday night. We called Direct Home Appliance Service on Saturday morning and Dave set up a time to come out - on Saturday - to triage the problem. He looked over the whole machine and identified an additional problem that needed remediation, as well as conditions that could be improved with some simple maintenance procedures. He couldn't fix the appliance on Saturday as he couldn't get the parts. On Monday, he acquired the parts and set up a time to come on Tuesday morning to fix the appliance. He was prompt on Tuesday; fixed the problem in a very cost-effective manner, and gave us some pointers on maintenance to keep the machine performing optimally. He was pleasant, prompt, competent, punctual, and the charges were very fair. I will definitely contact this vendor again should I need appliance repair help.

I called this company because it received positive ratings on Angie's List and because they offered weekend service hours. I called on Friday, 4/13 and scheduled a repair for the following day, a Saturday, between 11am and 1 pm. Jon arrived within the time window promised. It took a while to diagnose the problem because he had to run the dishwasher through its various cycles. He had someone else with him whom he was walking through the process of diagnosing the problem, which was also helpful to me. When I was out of the room I heard him talking about quality service and the importance of making sure you are replacing the correct part to avoid a follow-up call and additional expense for the homeowner. I was very pleased with the service provided and especially happy that they could come out on a Saturday. I would definitely use this provider again. When I called, I asked about pricing and was told there would be a $69 trip charge and a labor charge of about $29 per quarter hour. The bill did not provide a breakdown but the valve cost replacement valve cost $55 and he was there for at least 1-1/2 hours if not more. I should have asked for a breakdown. I was very pleased with the service provided. Jon was very professional. He also recommanded a product I could purchase that would help clean the dishwasher.

When our dryer went on the fritz, we contacted Direct Home Appliance Service and they were awesome. The phone lady was patient as I tried to figure out where the model number on the dryer was located. She took all the important info so the repair guys would have a better shot at having the right parts for the job. The two guys came on time and fixed the problem right away since they had possible problem parts along. It cost $69 to just walk through the door and then $20 for each additional 15 minutes. We were charged a total of $150 for about 40+ minutes of work and a new part, so pretty good I think. We are very happy.

The spin cycle went out on our washing machine on a Saturday afternoon. I called and they were able to schedule a repair for Monday. Apparently they do repairs on weekends but I didn't feel that was necessary. The repairman arrived on time even in very snowy weather and was very professional. He quickly fixed the problem and I thought the charges were very reasonable. I would absolutely use this company again! I was very impressed from my initial phone call on.

Arrived ahead of time and was out in 30 minutes. You get what you pay for in good service.

Dave was in the area and was here in about 15min after I called. We were unable to coordinate a date to return and do the work so he offered to work on Sat. He and Jon fixed my washer in a short time and it is working perfectly!

Dave was personable, punctual, professional and talented. He did the work as listed above and it was an overall pleasant experience for us. We would recommend and definitely use him again.

Quick response to my call...Prompt service the next day. Jon was very thorough in his evaluation of the two appliances, and seemed to be quite concerned that we not have to incur unnecessary expense! We were very grateful for the way he not only provided his service, but in the fact that he not want us to be billed for more than absolutely necessary. GOOD WORK!
