Darren was definitely a professional. Provided with a timeframe as to when he would start the project. I would recommend him to anyone who needs anything restored.

He came out and looked at my desk. It would have been $600 total, so the deal was for the estimate. He is probably very good and does excellent work, but if others get this deal, I would let them be aware that the project will probably cost them a lot more and the estimate cost is the deals $100, when you could have gotten the estimate for free.

I did an estimate to refinish a secretarial desk hutch that need to be sanded, stain, replace the missing back boards, and fabricated a missing door. Darin gave me 2 estimates for sanding, stain, and back board then another for fabricating door. Initial misunderstanding about me wanting the door to have a curve class instead of flat door. After discussion about if his business has expertise to fabricate a curve door and the cost I settle with flat door due to cost. The restoration came out looking better then expected so kudos to Darin. The only con is the time it took to complete the job however I was not in a big hurry so it didn't bother me.

Darin did a beautiful job restoring an antique rocking chair that was in very rough shape for many years. He re-glued all of the joints and refinished the wood. The seat cushion was replaced and reupholstered with leather and has nail-head trim. It's an old mission style piece that still looks rustic and will probably last another 100 years before it needs refinishing again. I love it.

The wooden bookcase had belonged to my grandparents who lived on a farm. It was in rough shape so my brother simply stored it in his garage. When he offered it to me, I immediately thought of Da Vinci Restoration and I knew they could bring it back to life! Daren Steneman is a great craftsman with a good eye for details. He's also a good business man as he under-promises and over-delivers. When I dropped the piece off at his shop, he told me they would likely start on it the week of June 15th and that it may take 3-4 weeks to finish. I got a phone call in late June that it was ready for pickup a full month earlier than projected. The piece is absolutely beautiful after being restored and refinished. While it's not the fanciest bookshelf in the world, it is an interesting piece with great sentimental value. I'm thrilled with the outcome and so delighted to have it once again in use! Bottom-line, I highly recommend Da Vinci Restoration and Daren Steneman.

? Yes, work done was in the time estimated and the workmanship was excellent. The owner was pleasant, cooperative , and honest about costs. There were no unexpected costs. He also gave me some hints as to some things I could do with my remaining 3 chairs myself. Comments: Be aware that refinishing is an expensive process. I fully expected that I would be able to get all 6 of my chairs reglued for the $200, but was told it would be $125 a chair, so I had to pick only the 3 worse ones in order to get the crack fixed and the table put back together. I figured that a new chair would cost only $50-100 to purchase. Was I ever mistaken! I also saved money by him taking the items with him at the time of the estimate and picking them up when finished, so I saved on pick up and delivery costs. It would only be worth it if you have items that are truly worth it (valuable, antiques, heirlooms, or items with high sentimental value)

The table is gorgeous!!! It took less time than quoted and the finished product is terrific. I will have future refinishing and restoring done by Da Vinci Restoration!!! Thank you Da Vinci!!!

I had to request a refund, because they do not work on painted furniture. They responded in the timely fashion and we tried to work out something with them. We then both agreed to just get the deal refund.

I brought the table I needed restored to him for an estimate. The final estimate that he gave me was more money than I wanted to put into the piece.

They were unable to do our project on site.

They emailed me after the purchase. They explained that the expiration date didn’t matter, that they would still service me when I was ready to use the service.

The chair turned out beautiful. They matched period details in the upholstery buttons. When I shared photos of the restoration with my dad and his siblings, one of them cried because the chair they used for playing "castle" looked so wonderful. I've had multiple offers to sell the chair but no way. After the fine work from Da Vinci restoration, this chair was transformed from interesting museum piece to something my family uses and loves.

Daren Steneman of Da Vinci Restoration offers specialty restoration with an artist's touch ? and he's absolutely right. Daren is an artist. A friend had offered to fix an antique rocking chair and got as far as taking it apart. The pieces were in a box; I thought I'd just throw it away but when I saw the Angie's List deal I figured oh, well, let's see what Daren can do. He restored it completely, refinished it, it's now in my living room. One of my great-greats was a general (Union side) in the Civil War. I inherited his campaign desk... it was in sad shape. The base had broken off/fallen apart and was in a box in the basement. Main desk piece badly needed refinishing. Daren put the whole thing back together, refinished it, put on a varnish to protect it; it's once again a family heirloom. I would trust a museum piece with Daren; he's that good. And a real sweetie, besides. I remain grateful to him for restoring my treasures. I have another piece that needs work; will definitely call Daren.

Scheduled an appointment at home for estimate. Was on time. Gave details on what needed to be done. Each chair disassembled, old glue removed, reglued and reassembled. Took 6 chairs with him to the shop which saved us a trip. I needed them by xmas and he rearranged his orders to make sure we could get them by xmas. We picked the chairs up at the shop. Chairs were done as explained. Quality workmanship.

Extremely professional. Eager to discuss process and set expectations. Will deliver and pick up but this takes extra time. To save time I brought the chairs to him. Project finished 1/2 day earlier than expected. I was pleased with the result. Would definitely use Da Vinci Restorations again.

The service was great. They did it beautifully. I do not think there was an additional cost to the $99 Big Deal purchase price. It is really well done. They were very friendly and responsive. It was very positive. I thought the price was very good.

They do not do the work that I need done. I need more of an upholstery restoration.

The completed work is fantastic! It's like having new furniture, but with all of the memories I have growing up with this set. The Da Vinci team was polite, communicative, gave a detailed quote, and scheduled the service timely. Overall, I couldn't be more happy with the finished result. I would highly recommend them for any restoration project.

First of all, they are too busy. We couldnt get the work scheduled and they couldnt commit to getting an appointment within the month. Because they told me they couldnt do it by the holidays, I said lets just do it after new years. At that point she told me I would have to hire a separate company to bring it into their shop. That certainly wasnt implied in their write up. Her response to that was that I live so far out. I feel that if this is the case, they should remove carver county from their service area. Instead of going through the trouble I opted to get a refund for my Big Deal purchase.

I did finally get an appointment set up and the estimate was way out of my price range. I was also surprised to find out the the provider did not transport the furniture, so an additional cost of a mover would be required. I just decided I will need to wait and do more research before moving forward with the refinishing.

It went ok. They restored a 90-year-old wicker rocker.
