Da Vinci Restoration

As an alternative to buyinig all new kitchen cabinets, we went to Daren and had him "refresh" all the doors and drawer fronts to fill in small chips in the veneer and just gereally clean everything and buff everything out with several coats of tinted wax--and saved over $20K. They turned out great and would strongly recommend considering this if you have old, good quality wood-finish cabinets that you'd like to keep. Plus, he worked overtime before leaving on vacation to make sure we could things put back together before we had the family over for Easter. -JS

Refinishing was done well in a timely scenario

Da Vinci was very open and honest about the different options and the amount of money I could potentially put into the project. Overall, I was happy with the result, and it was a good value for what I paid.

The work was done on-time, the price quoted was the price we paid (although it was steep), and the work was second to none. They really do fantastic work!!!

After I got rid of the carpenter ants, I used an Angies List coupon. I transported the pew to Da Vinci. The repair was well done.

Daren did a most excellent job of sculpting the new corners and staining so it looks brand new. I am very pleased with the work he did. He communicated well and in a timely manner. Drop off was easy and he was very pleasant to work with.

It was fine except that I learned that in taking the big deal, there's a risk of having a service provider who's away from your house. I delivered the chair about 15 miles or 20 miles. They did a nice job. It was all excellent. It was very good. There was no additional charge beyond whatever I paid for the big deal. They were good.

They did an excellent job. They were fair priced. They were nice to work with.

Barring some kind of emergency that is yet to be explained, I would rule out this enterprise.

Finished repair was indistinguishable from original condition. Great job.

I sent them a picture of the chest. They sent me the estimate to restore the whole thing. I just was wanting them to strip it and replace the leather handles. They could not give me an individual itemized list. I was a little frustrated that they could not answer my questions directly.

The lid looks like new, with a very nice finish and no trace of the black stain remaining.

came to estimate and discuss-had no way to transport table -had to return weeks later to get it as his asst had quit "finished" product was very shiny(I had been assured it would NOT be shiny and would have a finish like the other hand rubbed antiques in my home) I could not insert the leaves as so much varnish had pooled around the edges and there were skips and rough spots on the surface. Darrin would not refund my money and begged to redo, but no chance I would trust him to touch my heirloom again. Charged me $1,000 for a table top and two leaves. I needed to have my charge card cance tlhe payment to get some of my money back

The associate who did the work did not do a good job and she had to redo the work in attempt to correct her first run at it. The provier told me she was experienced but her work did not show that. Also there was a $50 charge each way - pick up and drop off so I took care of that myself taking time out of work to do so. Overall it was a lot of money for not very good work. the cost was $200 to duplicate a small rosette - about 1.5 inches in diamerter and glue a rung on a chair.

Did not do the project because of very high quoted cost

The veneer was badly damaged so it was difficult to repair. I was disappointed that it did not turn out better but they probably did the best they could due to the damage. The stain color was a little darker than the rest of finish.

I had to leave my small side table as the owner was not there. The estimate he gave me was extremely high and so I picked up my table and would not go there again.

Work was very good and I was very impressed with the stain match on the stool.

Da Vinci works with Errand Boy Services to transfer items to/from the workshop. They charged me $80 each way for moving my desk including dealing with my stairs where applicable. My item was heavy and I have a bad back so I couldn't transfer the item myself. So if you can't bring the item over yourself, make sure you check with them what they estimate the moving costs are so you can factor that into your budget.

Finding the shop in an industrial area was a little tricky but well worth it. Dennis is a pleasure to work with.

Originally I wanted to have a table and 4 chairs refinished. When I saw the Angie's List Big Deal ($99 for $200), I decided to buy it. My mistake in purchasing a voucher was that I didn't get quotes in advance. I was promptly contacted by Daren at Da Vinci, and he asked for dimensions and photos, which I provided. When his quote came back, I was shocked! He wanted $2000 to do the work. That was WAY more than we wanted to spend. Belatedly, I checked around and found another shop that was prepared to do the same table and chairs for half the price. We were very satisfied with their work. In the meantime, I asked Da Vinci for a quote on a 12x12 plant stand with water damage. They quoted me $250 so I used my voucher and paid them an additional $50. The work was fine, but the price was too high!

The work was done promptly, given the amount of detail involved. I purchased fabric, not allowing for the design, but they managed to make the piece work-very impressive. Excellent workmanship. Highly recommended
