Andrew did an amazing job at our house. It is an older house with no drain tile, clay soil and high water table. He installed his system and the levels came back high (see above conditions). He had to come back multiple times to add ports, add fans, etc because of how difficult the soil and conditions of our home was. No extra charge incurred. Each time he was kind, punctual, and professional. If I had to contact him, he responded almost immediately. With heavy Spring rains this year, we had to install a drain tile system. This meant that Andrew had to come back AGAIN to revise his radon system and inspect it after the drain tile system was installed. Once again, he was pleasant and professional. I would absolutely use this company again and highly recommend them.

Andrew did a great job with working with the St. Paul heritage preservation commission, getting a permit, and the installation work. We measured a reduction in our radon right away.

Andrew and his assistant did a great job. They showed up on time, they took there shoes off every time they came into our home. The installation was done very neatly (they even put on the purple primer neatly with out any showing after adding the connections and without any drips or sags). They vacuumed up any debris and took with them boxes and other trash from the install. A1 Radiation gave a quick estimate that was not only the best price, but added that if after the initial drain tile installation, that if the testing was not below 4.0 pCi/L, A1 Radiation would, without additional charge, and where feasible, add suction points and/or increase the radon fan size, to attempt to further reduce radon levels to below 4.0 pCi/L. If after adding additional suction points, the radon level does not get below 4.0 pCi/L, A1 Radiation will, at the request of the customer, remove the system and refund 100% of the price. They even installed a black vent pipe out the roof, to blend into the roof better (other companies install the white PVC pipe out the roof)

Superbly. Andrew was prompt, courteous, knowledgable, and efficient. He activated our passive radon mitigation system. His company truly lives up to its stellar reviews! My radon level went from a 6.5 pre-mitigation, to 0.5, which is equivalent to the outside air! It was great to deal with someone who does the job right!

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have the sellers of the home we bought last year agree to use A1 Radon Services (our requested contractor because we trust Andy and Rob’s service and quality of work) to perform radon mitigation in our home as a condition of the purchase agreement. The radon levels were measured at 12.4 pCi/L by a third party inspector upon initial testing prior to purchase, and 1.4 pCi/L after the radon mitigation system was installed. Many contractors are capable of installing an effective radon mitigation system. However, many will take choose the easiest install option which is likely to be more noticeable and less conducive to future home improvement projects. Equally important, or more so, we value a company that we can count on to address any unforeseen issues that may arises in the future, which is another reason to have confidence in A1.

The team was smoothly efficient from start (bid) to finish (post testing). The home's radon levels went from upwards of 7.0 to a maximum of 2.0. Great work!

A1 was amazing. Andrew responded quickly, showed up for the estimate on time and provided the most competitive bid that we received. He worked with our realtor (as were selling our house) to set up the appointment and do the work. It was done quickly and efficiently and reduced our radon levels to where they needed to be. So easy to work with.

We are moving and buyers during home inspection our Radon level was found to be 5.1 I called a handful of Radon Mitigation experts for a quote. I found Andrew from A1 to be the most responsive and detailed in his exploitation of how he would install the system in my particular situation. Andrew and his helper arrived on time and completed the job as expected. Cleaned the small mess up on their way out and the system looks great. Our Radon test came back and is now down to 1.1!

We needed additional mitigation work after using another company for our first attempt at lowering our radon levels since it only lowered from 11 to 6. Two different neighbors referred Andrew from A1 Radon to us. Andrew admitted ours was a complicated case and had to try several different ways to fix the issue. Eventually he solved the problem and got our radon levels down to 1.0! Andrew was a pleasure to work with and we so appreciated his determination in figuring out how to lower our radon levels. We highly recommend A1 Radon Services and especially Andrew.

Andrew and team did a great job installing my new radon mitigation system. They were on time, very efficient, answered all questions I had before, during and after the installation. The work needed to be done in a finished basement, garage and on the roof. Everything was left clean and I needed to do no additional cleaning up. The system is working great and we confirmed it with a radon test. I only wish I'd done this earlier.

He installed our initial system four years ago and when it suddenly stopped working due to the polar vortex while I was trying to sell my house I called him and he quickly came out and repaired it free of charge because it was still under warranty He was very easy to get a hold of on the phone and was also able to communicate via text which was great because I have a very busy schedule and a toddler at home I will absolutely use him for any future radon mitigation or service needs because of his great and personable service

I called Andrew in the morning, he was here within two hours, replaced the fan and explained the entire system to me - something that the previous company had not done. Andrew was responsive, professional and very educated on how these systems work. Will definitely use again!

Andrew and Rob were consummate professionals and worked quickly and efficiently. They have been exceptionally responsive to questions. They provide great on-going customer service.

Problem: We wanted to sell our house in Minneapolis but had to have our 5.8 radon test result mitigated quickly. Action: I spent time on the MDH website reading about Radon. As MDH suggested, I reviewed the MDH listing of Certified, Licensed, and Bonded radon mitigation professionals, with a high Better Business rating and favorable customer reviews like this. That greatly narrowed the field and I picked 3 for the bidding process. I invited them to inspect our home and recommend a mitigation plan (i.e., cost, time, and guarantee). Results: Of the three, A1 Radon Services and Andrew Costigan stood out above the other fine professional firms - 1) Andrew responded first via phone, 2) immediately scheduled the inspection, 3) followed up with an estimate, 4) answered all my questions and then some on multiple calls, 5) worked with us to install a system inside the house versus outside as desired for resale value (i.e., cosmetics) , 6) were the only one that recommended less work (i.e., not adding vapor barrier in crawl space) than the other two that 6) saved us approximately 50%, and 7) guaranteed mitigation - if the < 4.0 level was not met and a vapor barrier was needed, A1 would remediate at their cost! That was "putting your money where your mouth is" and presented a "deal I couldn't refuse". Post-Test: We received the post-test today and it was 0.3! Nice victory over the Radon killer. Summary: The new home owners are very pleased with the work and results! No pictures are provided since it in concealed inside the house with no ugly outside setup! A1 Radon Services was excellent. They were responsive, on time and very professional. They worked with us to install the system in a place that minimized it's appearance since it was located in a living area. They also troubleshooted when the radon rating came back above the acceptable level by installing a stronger fan rather than drilling more holes in the foundation.

A1 Radon wasn't the lowest quote received, but I was impressed with Andrew's promptness and professionalism right from the start. I definitely made the right choice! Andrew and his team were prompt, professional and went out of their way to make sure I had the least amount of hassle possible. The completed work was exactly what was quoted. The initial post-mitigation took our pCi/L from 13.2 down to 3.3. Andrew had wanted it under 2.2, so he came back out and installed a larger fan - at no additional cost. We are now at 1.4 pCi/L! I would highly recommend Andrew and his team at A1 Radon Services if you are in need of mitigation. They are simply the best!

Andrew from A1 Radon Services texted me within minutes after I left him a voice message, and was at our house repairing the outdoor wiring on our radon mitigation system within an hour (I called him on Friday afternoon, 12/28).
