Good service at a fair price. I'm very happy with Kal's Plumbing. Message from tenants: Yes the plumber from Kal's was at the house @ 9am sharp & he was in & out withing an hour. Changed out the water heater release valve (just the valve) and replaced the 1 water spigot on the north side. He was a very nice man! Thanks for taking care of those items for us :-)

Plumber arrived within a very short time after initial call. He quickly diagnosed the problem, showed and explained it to me, and suggested a solution. Unit was replaced and old hauled away the same day. The area was dry and clean before he left.

Since Dale had so impressed us in his installation of the water heater on the Angie's List coupon deal, we went ahead and contacted Rick Kaliszewski (the Kal of Kal's Plumbing) to handle our shower problems. As soon as we met him, we could understand why a professional of Dale's caliber worked for him. Rick was very straight-forward and professional in his evaluation of our problems and impressed us as someone we could trust. And he sent Dale to rescue us from mis-plumbed lines and scalding water. We now have comfortable, reliable showers. Now, if we can only get the City to do something about the water pressure...

We found the offer from Kal's (full installation of just the size we needed plus removal of the old unit) on Angie's List, so we ordered. Dale (the installer) was right on time and went right to work. He asked all the right questions and gave us not only a detailed explanation of what he was doing but also provided us with helpful info. We were very impressed by his courtesy and professionalism, so we began asking questions about other plumbing needs we had. Dale not only checked the problems in our two showers, he went on to resolve a little problem with one tap - at no extra charge because he happens to collect odd shower parts and carries them with him "just in case!" We decided then and there to hire Kal's for the shower repairs. We learned a long time ago that we can judge the quality of a company by the quality of its employees - and Dale certainly makes a great representative of Kal's work ethic and quality service.

2nd time I've used Kal's Plumbing. Almost went with another plumber due to Kal's busy schedule. Glad I called them back to schedule an appointment. Service was great once again. Dale was prompt, professional and super helpful. He went above and beyond service call to tighten the garbage disposal and finish connecting the filtered water line to the ice maker. I won't think twice again about calling Kal's for future plumbing needs.

The lift rod in our bathroom sink was stuck, so we couldn't close the drain. Dale, the plumber, took a few minutes to fix it. He showed me what the problem was and what he did to fix it. That was a pretty simple job. But we had a problem for months with a rhythmic thumping noise when we used some faucets (washer, bathtub, toilet) but not when we used others (shower, kitchen sink). When I explained that to Dale, he checked the water meter and said that was where the noise was coming from--unrestricted water flow caused the noise (caused by a rotating disk), restricted water flow did not. He suggested that we contact the city's water department and have them come out and check the meter. We emailed the city, they sent out two repairmen, and they checked out the noise and installed a new water meter. The noise was gone. Dale's diagnosis was exactly right!

Think the pricing is a little too high.

One of the best experiences I ever had with a contractor. He put tarps down all the way from door to work area, meticulously set up his work area and then did a thorough job of the installation, which required PVC work, some wood working, mounting, and then plumbing into the house main line. We did a final test together and it worked as expected. I have confidence the work was done right. I could have attempted this job myself, but after seeing what was involved, and how long it took someone that has done dozens of installations of this type, I am glad I hired Kals to do it. The whole idea of a backup sump system is peace of mind, and knowing a professional installed my system, I have more of that peace of mind than worrying if I did it properly myself (since it does involve direct plumbing to your full pressure home water supply).

Called and spoke to Matt as my water heater was leaking. Got quotes for an atmospheric and a power vent unit. Did not want to pay the additional cost of installing PVC venting so I chose the .62 EF atmospheric unit. Matt was very patient and professional as I asked him many questions in 3 separate phone conversations. On install day, Dale arrived at exactly the scheduled appointment time. He introduced himself and laid down drop cloth from the door to the water heater location. He explained the installation process and got to work. Along the way, Dale would inform me of different things such as - "ma'am, I'm re-arranging the copper piping to install the new unit so if you smell gas it's normal." After install and removal of the old unit, Dale filled out the paperwork for my CenterPoint Energy rebate and extended warranty card. He explained the different sections of the paperwork and the steps to submit them both. I then asked Dale for a furnace reference since I need my furnace repaired. He was kind enough to suggest two companies who have been in business for as long as Kal's Plumbing has been in business. He also gave me maintenance advice on my water softener - rather than try to sell me a new softener. It's hard to find honest tradesmen/contractors today and I think I found one in Kal's Plumbing. I would definitely use this company again for future plumbing needs. This morning as everyone got ready for work, one person said, "I didn't have to wait long for the hot water like usual before showering."

The service provided has been really good. He's very responsive if you have questions, we thought he did good work for a fair price and his workmanship are held up well.

They are great. He is terrific. He comes whenever I need him. I’ve used him for a number of years and he is excellent. He is fair on his prices. He doesn’t overcharge and doesn’t do things that don’t need to be done. He does a good job at whatever he does do and he is very responsive. He is polite. It’s just a great service provider. They have great customer service.

Everything went well - phone calls returned promptly, appointment as scheduled. Person who did work was thorough, professional and friendly. Very neat - left no mess and explained everything he did. Price was toward the higher end of what I expected, but considering I have zero complaints - worth it!

Fixed a faucet in the bathroom. Faucet is working fine.

I called and left a message on Monday morning and they called right back and were able to schedule an appointment within an hour. I know the super fast turn-around was serendipitous and I might expect scheduling to take a little longer next time but the turn-around was impressive. The charge seemed a bit high but I didn't take the time to research and get quotes. I'm very happy to have the pipe repaired before any damage was done to the house.. Every thing was handled in a professional manner.

They were great. The service was excellent. They were timely. They were very open and honest. They were super great and I had no complaints. They cleaned up and did a really good job. They gave us a couple of different options and told us what they were going to do and it was great. I wasn't offended by the price. I will use them again in the next few weeks.

I've used Kal's about four times and have been happy each time. I've had some trouble with my outdoor faucets and had some of them upgraded and replaced. In the past they've added shut-off valves, fixed leaking pipes, replace a cold-water shut-off that runs to my washer. They've come back and fixed parts twice that they installed that have failed--at no additional charge. Sure, plumbers are expensive, but I think they are a little less than most and do excellent work and are nice guys.

Matt was punctual, informative, efficient and performed the service involved with accuracy. The water heater needed to be delivered. The delivery was made on time and directed by Matt so no damage would be done to tile flooring. The area he worked in was clean when the project was finished. We definitely will call him again for any future projects and will refer him to anyone in need of a plumbing project.

Rick remodeled two bathrooms for us... Our main bath and a half bath. Because we have a master bath with a shower, both bath remodels were able to be done at the same time. Dale and Matt completed the demo in a day with very little mess left behind and then installed the bathtub and plumbing got the tub/shower. Rick had Pat Barnes install the tile work and I have never observed anyone work harder! Pat arrived at 7:30 am each day and was cleaning up when I returned home from work. His work is impressive. Pat met with us before the project started and provided suggestions and ideas on laying the tile and using decorative tile. Mike Pfeifer made custom cabinets for both bathrooms that look beautiful. He also created a wood framed mirror for the main bath and a medicine cabinet for the half bath. Rick, himself, installed the toilets, connected the plumbing to the sinks and shower/bath, and installed the fixtures. Chris from Primary Electric installed the light fixtures, bath fan and updated the electrical outlets. He was very creative in finding a solution to updating the fan in the half bath where the venting was not accessible. Our only disappointment was the painter, Jeff. Although he had a very pleasant personality, he never showed up when he was scheduled. His work was not completed on time. He was messy, leaving paint and mud on the new doors, tile, vanity tops and bathtub. He would touch up spots that we questioned, but wouldn't sand them smooth before painting. He wore me out and I decided it will be easier to touch up the areas that need it (where the mud shows through the paint) after the holidays. I just couldn't take anymore of seeing him put paint trays on my rugs without a drop cloth underneath or cleaning up the paint splatter after he cleaned his brushes in my new sinks! Jeff is not Rick's usual painter. His usual painter was out on medical leave. Rick did have Jeff return a couple of times to touch up, but like I said, I gave up in the end. I would definitely use Kal's Plumbing again on a bath remodel, but would insist on a different painter.

He returned the next week to replace our 20+ year old hot water heater and replace the water faucets on our laundry tub. Dale is very pleasant and does an excellent job.

Kals plumbing has always been willing to take on our jobs. Big and little. Mostly what I've appreciated was their willingness to sometimes repair rather than replace which would probably made more money for them. But with a growing family and tight budget we were always very grateful.

Experienced plumber came and on time and did a great job. Very happy with the service.

I was convinced a wet basement floor in my laundry room was due to a clogged floor drain as I felt I had ruled out any other cause. So my request to them was to check the floor drain. The tests he did proved the floor drain had no issues. Even though he spent about 15 minutes doing this testing, he charged me nothing! Later, I determined the problem was the placement of the drainage hoses from the water softener - they were a bit out of place at the drain.

My experience was excellent. I thought their price was fair and reasonable. One reason why I chose them. I had three or four companies come out and give estimates. Everybody had a different approach on my bathtub in terms of what needed to be done as far as setting the bathtub because of accessibility. Kal's had the most practical and creative approach, which also was the least intrusive or painful for me in terms of having to move framing, etc. They had the best solution of the four companies I talked to. Their way was the most homeowner friendly.
