Smart Builders did a great job from assessment to project completion. They assisted us throughout the entire process by working with our insurance company, providing different shingle options and colors and scheduling the work to best fit our schedule. The onsite crew was punctual, courteous and professional. They completed the work in a timely fashion, did a great job avoiding damage to the landscaping, and cleaned the entire area surrounding the house. I would definitely recommend Smart Builders for your roofing needs.

Let me start with a perspective, then the essence of the work Tony and team did for me. I'm an experienced homeowner, and I've done a LOT of projects on my own as well as hiring out projects to large and small contractors over time. I'll simply say the whole process of working with Tony, Nick and the installation team was as good as it gets! Tony worked the whole process, from inspection, estimating, meeting with me & my insurance adjuster, through to the completion of the job, final clean-up and collecting payment. Literally, it was a great process. I'm an informed, experienced, reasonable, and demanding buyer. I expect people to know their business, communicate well, do what they say they are going to do, and when things don't go as planned, fix any problems and be honest through the whole process. Tony was on top of the project from the beginning. He handled himself like a pro. He knows what he's doing and knows when to bring in his teammates. Nick helped him out with the inspection, meeting with my insurance adjuster, and doing a full drone flyover photo process for the production team. (That was pretty cool BTW.) Most of all, the most important things on a project like this are to get the schedule and estimate right. Get the roof torn off, then installed right, and cleaned up very well. Simply put, they did. The weather helped out nicely, but the coordination was perfect too. The dumpster was on-time the day before and the crew was on-time the next day. They were fast, thorough, attentive to details (Like flashing, painting existing metal parts to match, and clean, straight rows and edges) and a very thorough clean-up. Then the dumpster pick-up and final clean-up done the next day. I can't ask for more than that. The whole job, almost 40 squares on the house and garage was done on-time, done well and cleaned up nicely. Roofing is a very messy job, and it's easy to have landscape damage, and lots of detailed clean-up issues. Like wrappers, nails, bits of shingles left over. I gotta say I was impressed. The site was very clean and no obvious damage top my landscaping. Sure, I found a few bits of wrappers and shingle pieces around, but seriously, I expected to find a whole lot more. It was a great clean-up job! I was both pleased, and impressed. Roofing might not be rocket science, but I'll say, it's no accident when a contracting team gets it this right. It takes competent, capable people and a lot of hard work. It's no accident, these guys are really good at what they do. I'd definitely use Smart Builders again, and do recommend them as a great roofing service company..

Nick at Smart Builders was conscientious and professional. He was on top of the job and the insurance process. He was not pushy and went above and beyond to help us get the look and quality we desired. He also worked with Barn building experts to oversee the barn roof project as well. I highly recommend.

I just happened to hire them and they told me they were on Angie's List. I usually trust Angie's List. They drop people if people aren't happy with their service. It was paid by insurance but it's about $17000. I give them an A. It looks so far good. Right now it seems fine. Responsiveness was very good.

The process took about a year but that was mainly due to negotiating with insurance. Once work started it took 2 days to work on my roof, three days on my sidings, 3 days on my Windows and 1 day with the gutter. Each of the team were very responsive and are knowledgable about the work needed to be done. I'm very pleased. Thanks Smart Builders and team!

The new roof included a new power fan, but they stated they did not do any electrical work. In addition, the power fan they installed did not allow the fan to turn (bug screening was mis-installed and jammed the fan blades.) As a result, the fan has burned out. They have refused to take care of the situation, and provide an installed and working power fan.

The workers were pleasant & finished the jobs quickly. Roman was great to work with. The window guys were so fun & polite – it was a pleasure to have them in the house – it didn’t feel like an intrusion.

The crews were on time and worked really hard from just after sunrise all the way until it was dusk. Can't say enough good things...Alex was great to work with!

If you're on Angie's list reading reviews about roofers, and you're anything like me, you're looking for a company that will be; 1) honest, 2) attentive, and 3) really, really good and putting a roof on a house. Stop reading reviews and call Nik at Smart Builders. My battle with my insurer dragged on for more than 8 months. This required a significant investment of time and resources by Nik and several others at Smart Builders. He was at my house several times and represented my interests at 4 meetings with adjusters and managers from my insurer (no 5-star review for Federated Insurance - that's for sure). At every step, Nik was attentive and helpful. The final step in my insurance journey was an appraisal meeting at my home (with attorneys and adjusters on both sides). Nik was up there on the roof advocating on my behalf as the insurance adjusters tried to claim a replacement shingle was a good match for existing shingles (so insurance could pay for 20% of my roof, not the whole thing). We won at appraisal - and Nik's efforts at the appraisal meeting certainly helped close it out. The roofing work was just as smooth. The crews worked hard and left my home in great shape. The foreman kept me informed of what was happening and what was coming next. Do I sound happy? I am. I'm not the easiest homeowner to deal with - my expectations are high - and Smart Builders exceeded them.

Like most door-to-door sales we were unsure at first but in the end we couldn't be happier with our experience with Smart Builders Roofing Company. Our contractor, Mohsen went above and beyond to work with our insurance company and get us the best deal possible on our new roof. From start to finish, the process could not have gone any better. We could not of found a better person or company to work with. Mohsen was exceptional, answered any questions/concerns we had, returned all phone-calls promptly and followed through throughout the entire process. Thank you for all your hard work Mohsen. We could not be more pleased with our new roof!

Smart Builders replaced my shingles due to hail damage. Mosen worked with my insurance company and did all of the phone calls and paperwork for me. It was a very easy process!

Excellent. Was very impressed with the work that was done. We worked with Mohsen. He was great to work with; he worked directly with the insurance company for full replacement, all the materials arrived on schedule, workers arrived when planed and the roof was completed on scheduled. Working with Mohsen was incredible easy, everything was done as scheduled, everything was completed on time, clean up was completed before they left the property, no damage was done and we received a quality roof. Would recommended them to family and friends.

Staff were very professional and kept us up to speed on dates and times for the work to be done. Work was done in a timely manner and we were very pleased with not only the quality of the work but how well things were cleaned up after the job on a daily basis.

Mohsen from Smart Builders was very professional and efficient in assisting me after I noticed some shingles on my roof were damaged. After doing an assessment of my roof, Smart Builders worked with my insurance company to get the roof on my house, garage, and shed replaced as well as windows of my house. There was very little out of pocket cost to me as my insurance covered the majority of the cost. I would highly recommend Mohsen and Smart Builders to my friends and family.

Excellent provider. I would recommend Smart Builders without any hesitation and most importantly, would use Smart Builders and Victor again should the need arise. Victor walked me through the entire process, worked with the insurance company and completed the work in the manner and timeframe that were promised. None of that was easy, but Victor kept plowing ahead and helped me reach a fair and reasonable result. Stayed on constant contact, returned all my calls very promptly and followed through on everything.

They did a good job on our roof. I liked everything about it. They cleaned up after themselves. They took care of my shed that had a problem. I can't say any bad things about them. They were great and the representative that came out was great.

The job was done in segments. First the roof. Russ Zastavskly was the representative came by and spent time helping us make a selection. He explained details of what and how things would happen. Crew showed up as planned and were very quick and professional. They were very pleasant and answered any questions or addressed any comments i had. They cleaned up after the job. The next project was siding. Russ made several stops to the house to explore our siding options and after helping us make a decision the schedule went on the calendar. Once again great crew. Fast and efficient workers. They even accommodated our request to place the siding in the garage so we could recycle the aluminum ourselves. Great quality in the workmanship and the product used. A lot of attention to details. They even put up three new lights on the outside of the house. The final job was gutters and down spouts. They were able to match the siding perfectly. It was cold outside and snow which made the work harder to do. We have a difficult lot cuz of the contour of the land and our house is 3 story on the back side. They never complained and were always pleasant and professional. They made sure the gutters were straight and the job was done right. Terrific job all around. I would highly recommend this company and a special shout out to Russ Zastavskly who went above and beyond what was expected in making our job a great experience.

They were very professional. They were always on time. The work was done quickly and very well. They were very polite. They were very organized. They worked with the insurance company. All the paperwork was in line. The workers were very pleasant. They came and finished everything in one day and cleaned everything up. Very professional, clean, organized, pleasant to work with. I have not worked with such an excellent company in a long time. They kept us very appraised of what's going on.

Russ from Smart Builders worked with our insurance company to get our roof replaced after the hail storm last August. He was always very courteous, explained every step of the work, and took care of everything for us. His crew was punctual, fast, did great work, protected shrubs and lawn furniture, and cleaned everything up. The roof looks great. I would definitely use Smart Builders again and I would ask for Russ.

They first inspected my home to see what damage was done. They found that the roof, siding, and windows were all badly damaged. Right away, the insurance company did agree that the roof was damaged. Further, they agreed to replace the shingles right away, but they didn't want to replace the siding. Also, they wanted to evaluate the windows. After their inspection, the insurance company initially denied the claim on my windows, and they were only going to give me $500 for the siding. However, I agreed to have Smart Builders represent me in the appraisal process, and they were able to come through for me and my home. While it did take time to get everything approved, they were able to get the job done, both on my home and with the insurance company. They completed 3 full window frame replacements and replaced all of my window sashes along with all the siding. If I would have done this on my own, I would have only been able to get the roof completed. With a little time and patience, I was able to get everything, all thanks to Smart Builders. In particularly, Victor Skirukha, the owner, was excellent. He was the one that represented me in all of the negotiations with my insurance company. All the work was done with craftsmanship and care. The roof and the siding look terrific. They even upgraded the window sashes on the front of my home to make my house much more attractive than before, all for the same price that the insurance company agreed to. They also warrantied the work for ten years.

Our experience with Smart Builders was a very positive one. From start to finish, everything was handled very professionally - our questions were always answered and concerns, although few, were addressed promptly. We felt that Smart Builders was very knowledgeable about the entire process regarding filing a claim with the insurance company and there was little that we actually needed to do. The replacement of the roof shingles, downspouts and gutters was done quickly but professionally and we were very happy with the results. In addition to the quality of the work, there were no building materials left on the site after the project was completed. Overall, we would highly recommend Smart Builders.
